Adam opened his eyes

For Adam, it felt like he had gone on the worst rager in his life. Not that he was a wild kid. His worst exploits were allnighters several days in a row when he purchased a game on the release date and he wanted to see his name on the top charts before they got spoiled by all the whales.

"Whales" is how gamers call people that spend money in-game to advance quicker than others. If a whale also has skills, it is sure they rocket to the top of the charts super fast.

He sat up and scrubbed his eyes like he did every morning. All the time he spends with the game headset and in front of screens always makes his eyes sore. He enjoyed a good face scrub in the morning. Life is about those small pleasures we take for ourselves.

He opened his eyes, expecting to see his bedroom and all his stuff. You cannot imagine his surprise to find himself seeing a beautiful sunset on a red grass savanna.

"Am I still in the game?" he asked himself.

For the last week, he had been playing the latest release from his favorite indie game designer. Usually, they had hidden scenes and secret scenarios, which was one of the things Adam loved. He saw himself as an adventurer of old times, exploring wildlands and discovering hidden treasures.

Of course, by the time the games were played by billion of gamers, millions would "discover" the same things he did, but there was always a rush to be the first one. He excitedly tried to remember if he had read any articles with scenarios that matched what he was seeing. If he was the first here then his videos could go viral once he uploaded. Those were always popular and he needed the likes to get more credits.

"System, start recording my view".

When he did not get an answer after a couple of seconds he tried to contact the game's system again.

"System, open the status page".

"System, open menu".

"System I need a HELP".

"ADMIN"

All he got back was the whisper of the breeze on the grass of the savanna.
