Chapter 01 : For kin

Well this is the story of how I become king, a road I will soon not forget, for it is my tale and mine alone to bear. So let us begin our journey to where it all started to my BEGIN.

On a cold stormy night a hooded figure races through the trees, through muddied grounds to

an opening within the trees, hidden within the mass of the forest. The figure reaches a small

cottage centred in the opening. Basket in hand, the figure lays the basket down gently on the

doorstep and proceeds to knock.

"Someone is knocking Olson" a loud young female voice exited the cottage.

"I heard it Maddy "the young man replies enthusiastically.

"A guest, I'll fetch the wine" Maddy exclaimed.

Olson opens the door slowly and carefully reaches for his knife on his back poach, the knife's

edge begins to emit a blue shine, the blue trails behind as he swiftly pulls the door open and

points the knife forward, but to nothing but an empty front porch.

"False alarm" he says with a sigh of relief.

"Really but I swear I had heard something" Maddy explained with a metal rod in her hand, the

rod itself had a series of blue glowing lines meeting at the top where a crescent shaped metal

ornament had a blue flame burning.

"Okay but there is still no one…Uhm wait" he replied as he crouched to lift up a big basket.

"…what!.. did you find something" asked a curious Maddy.

"Uhm… we have. Uhm two little visitors" he anxiously said.

."What are you on about, visitors who are you talking about" she asked disappointed.

Olson turned around as she arrived near the door to see two small infant babies inside a

basket, she paused seemingly processing the sight before her.

"No,no,no,no,no! are you serious right now" enraged by the situation she screamed.

"Calm down honey it's just two babies" he replied calmly.

"Calm down? Did you hit your head somewhere, just two babies" she replied stressed.

Filtering her as background Olson found a letter in between the two babies and he continued

to open and read the letter.

Uhem…yes..yep" he replied periodically

It read…

"Before you are my two precious sons their names are as follow

On the right Vladimir on the left Lucia I intrust you

with my babies Dragon slayer Olson Hanford

And princess of the flames Madeline Hanford

I Beseech thee, my boys please keep them safe"

It ends there.

"Uhm.. Maddy you need to see this" he replied

"What's wrong and are you even listening" she angrily replied

"Sorry but please read this Maddy" he replied

She takes the letter from Olson and proceeds to read it.

"hi Vladimire, Luxia nice to meet you" he said to the two infants in front of him

The couple continued to put the two down in their room upstairs.

It seems like we had been intrusted with two boys and Maddy was worried about taking in two

infants, she was right they were not our responsibility, but then again we could not leave two

babies out in the cold alone. Besides going off the letter their parents had no intentions of

coming back for them any time soon. So After a night of discussing we ended up agreeing to

raise two boys as our own.

But unfortunately around 2 months Lucia was having difficulties breathing. We were concerned that it could be serious, so we went to the nearest town to the forest of Dhal. The boys were often quiet specially Vlad he was humble and always conceit as long as what he had what he wanted at the time, but when it came to Lucia he was in constant pain crying, he looked ever paler everyday.

We had finally arrived at the clinic, it was fairly small but the doctor in charge was an old friend of ours she was a 3rd Class healer and a 4th Class sorcerer Fey if anyone could help it is going to be her. Maddy was stress she was biting her fingers all the way here.

"Mr and Mrs Hanford you can know come in" a nurse in a blue and white leather dress with a guild crest on the shoulder yelled to us.

"oh yes we are coming, honey"

"yeah lets go" she replied in unusually soft voice.

We entered the office we were guided towards, infont of us sat a young woman in a Black and blue dress and a white lab coat, long black hair behind a pair of lenses laid two crimson eyes.

"To what do I owe the pleasure" she asked in soft but commanding voice.

"hi fey we need your help" Maddy answered.

"I see have a sit, lets talk" she replied.

We explained the situation to Fey, Vladimir were fast asleep in their basket.

"I see, have you checked their status"

"yeah we did but we did not find anything particular" I and marry exclaimed.

"oh really so nothing...okay if you say so" she replied suspiciously

About a week after the twins arrived we checked their statuses.

"okay here i go oh great goddess of life and all grant me thy power rewrite the laws that bind our realm. Now reveal thy true self " with a green light that emanated from her magic rod, she stretched out her hand and at the boys and a blue status screen appeared in front of the two boys. What we read that day will remain a secret, although every other status showed that they were healthy, so I did not lie.

Fey stood up and took Lucia and began chanting words even I could not comprehend well than again my [int] stat is pretty low. We had our fingers crossed she could help him.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS BABY!!!!!" she shouted

"What!!" me and Maddy yelled back.

"HOW is this baby alive" she worryingly said.

"came on tell us what is wrong with our son" Maddy asked

"your son has a Ludacris amount of mana" she exclaimed.

"And the mana in his body is not flowing properly its weakening him"

"okay we see but what can be done about it...please you must have or know something to help us out here" Maddy sorrowfully asked.

Fey told us the was an enchanted item that high level casters use to increase mana control and manipulation for more potent spells.

"That is all that can be done, but you must understand that will only make the pain subside for now as he grows up his mana resorves will increase, judging by the sheer amount he has now soon this item won't be able to anything. Am sorry this is the first time I encounter this sickness" Fey explained as she pulled a neckless from a cabinet on the right of her desk.

"Here I hope for the best for you and my little pumkins, I'll visit soon to take a look"

Little did we know but we had secured the destruction of our world.
