Ch.1 - What happened

In the city of Annecy, France, where a mysterious case of symbols scattered around the city had happened, it is a short time ago but the residents were afraid that something bad would happen to them, even if it was something that was discovered a short time ago, in another day of research without any relevant progress by the symbols two investigators in the case were returning to the police station to make their reports, on the way there the two collided with a young man who was walking without looking forward.

- Boy, apologize now for pushing two authorities - one of them speaks, in a mocking way while the other investigator just sees with an intimidating look.

The young man had a beautiful skin tone, hair that was neither scared nor surprised, but, with a serious and tired face, he did not answer the investigators' question, but laughed even more mockingly than they did for a moment. until it got serious again

- What do you two think the symbols show? - asks the student

- Maybe it's someone wanting to draw attention, that must be it - answers one of the officers, not knowing the answer to the student's question.

After a short time of conversation about the mystery, the young man had introduced himself as Louis Charpentier, a 3rd year law student at MBway Annecy College, and also a self-employed detective. The three went to the office of the chief investigator of the case, Simon Michael, the office was small but it accommodated all of them, soon the boss noticed the talent of Louis when listening to his theory about the case of the enigmas

- That's a good idea of ​​yours, but how will you solve the case? - asks with an expression of curiosity Simon.

"As I said to you before, if the symbols are flipped vertically and then horizontally they turn into a letter," Charpentier argues with certainty.

The investigator was surprised by the young man's interpretation, it even seemed that Louis was the one who made the symbols and was telling him how to unravel the mystery, Simon interrupts while he was finishing speaking what he knew, to dismiss the young man and he could go home because the clock he already pointed to 4:00 at night and then he released Louis who was already tired of all that, what started as a nonsense.

As he left the office inside the police station, Simon waved to Louis.

The next day, the chief investigator arrives at the police station and decides to close the case, as it was no longer necessary to carry out searches and research reports on the symbols.

- The case is solved! - Shouted the boss with enthusiasm, knowing what the riddle wanted to show.

- How was it resolved? - was what everyone said, all full of doubts and relief at the end of the mystery.

- The symbols were letters and numbers, and they made a prediction that said... - Simon waits a moment, afraid to speak, but continues - 14 days, that's what the riddle showed.

All investigators were confused to learn that the mystery that frightened the townspeople was a date, it was the tenth day since the symbols began, Simon Michael called two police officers to his office at the police station and not knowing what the date of the riddles wanted The show sent officers looking for last night's young man, Louis Charpentier, to Simon's office.

The two obeyed Simon and when they were near the young man's house they saw Louis entering the house and then knocked on the door, until he opened it and was surprised, the police spoke Simon's request for help and Louis agreed to go there to help, after all , it was a day that had nothing to do that Louis was having.

Arriving at the police station, the two investigators who approached him last night were surprised and the person who had asked the question accompanies him to the chief investigator. Simon asked to leave them alone.

- So, why did you call me here? - Louis said, already knowing why he was there.

- What are those 14 days it said on the symbols? - not knowing what that date meant without a certain meaning.

"Perhaps a prediction of a bad or a good event," took his guess Charpentier, who was a self-employed detective.

Simon saw his talent that unraveled the mystery that had made the citizens fearful and so made a wish for him.

- What do you think of officially becoming an investigator? - Simon asked, intending to have Louis around to see what he was capable of.

-It may be, I accept, but it will have to be on my terms-said Louis, being sure of what he was saying and accepting.

Louis' condition is that he remain a freelance detective and be called in when he has a complicated case to solve, and can also meddle in internal and external investigations, outside the country.

Simon accepts his condition but also made a condition that seemed more like a request, that the investigator be his partner in the investigations, as he wanted the young man around, and just like Simon the young man accepted this condition from the investigator.

The two waited until the next week, which would be the 14th day since the mystery started, and then in the morning, earlier in the day, the investigator went to Louis' house and informed him that the symbols were back, but not in town, not in the country where they lived, but in Hamamatsu, Japan. The two were surprised and Louis told Simon to enter.

- What are you doing in such a hurry? asked the investigator, seeing that he was tossing clothes from the oversized closet away from him.

- Looking for my suitcase, because we're going to Hamamatsu - replied the autonomous detective, looking enthusiastic about this news - You should also pack your bags.

- Why would I go to Japan without a plan in mind?

- Because you agreed to be my partner and we are wasting time - Louis replied soon followed by a hidden smile on his face - Hurry up, please.

The detective and the investigator packed their things and boarded the first plane going to Hamamatsu, on the trip to Japan. On the way, Simon slept and Louis stayed awake, attentive to every detail that happened on the plane and also looking out the window that was at his side, when they reached the airstrip, the young man woke up his partner, saying that they had already arrived in Hamamatsu.
