22 No Pure Friendship But Only Mere Alliance

Boss Ma approached the two people and noticed that they had just finished all the foods on the table. 'That was quick!' The old man thought while looking at the table with empty plates. The two were undeniably hungry that they immediately ravaged all the foods prepared for them as soon as they sat on their chairs.

"Ahem! Honored guest, let us just pretend that the incident earlier did not happened. But still, I am here to verify what I saw! Is the lady a sword cultivator?" Boss Ma directly asked them to clarify his guess.

"Yes, my name is Ye Shin. I came from the Sword Cultivators Clan." the lady calmly answered him. Boss Ma politely nods his head towards her before glancing at her companion.

"And the companion of this lady, if I am not wrong... Are you the emperor of the He Empire?" the old man looked at the young man. The man is almost the same age as the new Emperor of Ru!

"You have a clear vision!" the young man complimented him.

"Ah! Thank you, your majesty. If you need anything from this old man, let me know." Boss Ma offered. His guess about their identities are all correct! The young emperor looked at the old man for a while with a calculating gaze.

"Earlier, the girl almost spilled a cup of tea to me. I have instructed my bodyguard to eliminate anyone that would attempt to bring harm to me. Senior you understand my point of view right?" the emperor explained. Boss Ma simultaneously waved his hands and shakes his head indicating that there is no need for the young emperor to explain.

"Your majesty rest assured, the lady will not be wronged by her actions." the old man quickly realized that the emperor wanted to clear the lady from any possible responsibility of her actions. After all they are not inside their own territory.

"Then thank you senior. We will head to the palace now. Sorry for the trouble we have caused." the emperor modestly apologizes to him before they went out of his establishment. As the emperor favored by the heavens, this apology is also unnecessary but it actually shows that the young emperor has respects to the elder in front of him.

The old man had thanked his instinct a hundred times that day for saving him from possible disaster. If he had not trusted his instincts earlier, his own emperor would have been sending him to prison right now! And then another possibility came to his mind. The lady could also send him to the underworld if he initiated a fight earlier! The old man shivered of the thought.

As the old man was about to retreat and take a rest, a dozen of soldiers came in looking for him. The soldiers arrogantly entered his restaurant despite his high reputation within the capital. Their lack of respect made the old man scowled on them.

"Commander Gu, what do you need from me?" the old man directly looked at the leader of the group. This leader is actually a son of soldier Gu who is guarding the border entrance of their empire. Because of the status of his father as a friend of the previous emperor, this man dared to act arrogantly.

"We are here to capture the criminals!" the commander said while his eyes traveled around the place. His tone is laced with pride.

"There are no criminals here but only guests. If you are referring to the two guests earlier, just forget what you are thinking right now. You are just wasting your time!" the old man told the commander but the man is stubborn. He insisted to know which direction the two had gone.

"What do you mean guests, old Ma!? They have caused harm to my soldiers! They should not be treated as guests! Tell me where they went Old Ma or I will drag you down together with them!" Commander Gu arrogantly threaten the old man. Boss Ma could not help but sigh on the man's tone! He disdained his manner of talking to an elder.

"The two are on their way to the palace." Boss Ma told them. In the old man's mind, he thought that it is also probably good to use this opportunity to teach the arrogant commander some lesson.

"Good! It would be easier for me to catch them inside the palace grounds." Commander Gu declared with full or confidence before they leave the old man alone. The soldiers hurriedly walks towards the palace.

"It is not good to overestimate yourself." Boss Ma whispered before he finally went back to rest.

In the palace entrance, a tall man with a striking appearance was already waiting for the arrival of the Emperor of He. He has a perfect set of jaws with long eye lashes and the orbs in his eyes is painted with light brown that is almost the same color as gold. In terms of physique, this man is the living definition of perfection!

This man is accompanied by three pretty maidens in his side. One of the girls is carrying a medium size fan with exquisite decorations and is slowly fanning him. The other one is gently messaging his shoulder while the last one is holding his food tray. This man is so lavish and is a chick magnet. Wherever he goes, any lady would fall on his charms. There are even few occasions where women would beg to bear his children loudly. He is known as the living temptation in the whole region!

This man is no other than; the legendary playboy and the new Emperor of Ru Empire named Ru Shi. Emperor Ru Shi changes his girls too often like he changes his clothes. It is but a complete mystery to the other empires how he had befriended the Emperor of He who is a complete opposite to him. They have wondered how the chick magnet Emperor of Ru managed to have a strong tie with the workaholic and dull Emperor of He.

Many daresay and presume that they have the same masters but none of them has confirmed this rumor. Others have thought that since this Emperor Ru Shi comes from a military oriented family, it could be also part of his empire's military strategy. The strategy of attacking the neighboring empire while befriending the far away kingdom. Or another strategy of borrowing the force of the far away kingdom when attacking the neighboring empire!

After all, there is no pure friendship but only mere alliance when it comes to the people who have claimed the position of the throne! But the only problem of their theories is that Emperor Ru Shi and his empire had not made any single enemy in the whole Region S! And his neighboring kingdom which is the Empire of Hong is a good source of commodities for him that he even secretly offered some help to maintain the peace in Hong Empire.

Some emperors have also warned the Emperor of Hong for the possibility of his empire to be taken down by the Ru because of this friendship with He Empire. But the business minded Emperor of Hong had casually sold a letter to them as a response to their unsolicited warning. They first thought that the letter contains classified information so they immediately paid money for it. As they read the letter, they found out that its content is nothing but an advice for them to create a book of advice and sell them to gain money rather than give advice for free! The Hong Emperor has even written the gesture of them buying his letter as an example! This made those busybody emperors from other kingdom to want to cry but failed to produce tears in their eyes!

The people who have also learned how solid the bond between the two emperors have could not help but only guess as the two subjects refused to tell their story.

As the Ru Emperor saw the two figures approaching his direction he waved his hand at them. He was about to call the He Emperor when a loud voice yelling from behind the He Emperor interrupted him.

"Stop right there!" This is the voice of Commander Gu as he arrogantly paraded his soldiers towards the two figures. He has not seen yet that his emperor is only few distance away!

The emperor of He Empire did not even glance at the soldiers behind him. He continued to go towards the entrance of the palace. This made Commander Gu felt a boiling rage in his heart. He draw and arrow from his back and placed it in his bow. He was determined to kill the man!

Just as he was about to pull the bowstring, Commander Gu heard a loud gasp in front of his target. He looked at them and saw the three maiden staring at him with fear evident in their eyes. The three maiden stood frozen in their place. Then the commander heard a thud near his feet. When he looked down, his eyes saw his bow and arrow was on the ground with his hands holding it!

The poor commander has suffered the same fate as the two soldiers that he was trying to avenge. His arms were also completely severed without him noticing how he was attacked or who his attacker was! His eyes successively blinked and his face is filled with horror as he looked at the two figures who still continue to their way. The soldiers parading together with the commander was also terrified! In their mind, two questions have emerged. What had just happened? How did it happen? They all stopped moving and just watch as the two figures reached the entrance of the palace.

Emperor Ru Shi looked at the companion of Emperor He Mo with a naked interest in his eyes. Although the commoners did not saw what happened because of the speed of the attack, it sure did not skipped from the Ru emperor's golden eyes. He had seen the two separate tiny weapons that look like a petal of a flower cut the arms of Commander Gu. This emperor even notices the form of the blade despite the distance!

Emperor He Mo looked at his friend with seriousness. He sternly stared at the man that if this gesture could kill, Emperor Ru Shi will probably be dead. When Emperor He Mo noticed that his friend did not stop looking at Ye Shin, she pulled the lady behind his body. Emperor Ru Shi immediately snapped out and raised his brows.

"The lady accompanying my brother He Mo..." Emperor Ru Shi started to speak and was about to introduce himself to the lady when he heard a low but warning tone from Emperor He Mo.

"Mine."
