47 V.2 Chapter 18

After receiving the mission, Yukan was walking back to his house.

On his way, he talked to the system.

'How much of the pill am I left with?'

[The host is left with 18%]

'So, let's assume that I cut a limb, can I regrow it with the pill?'

[No. Regrowing a whole limb would take 25% of the pill.

The bigger or fatal the injury, the more quantity of the pill required.

For diseases like 4th stage cancer, it requires at least 40%]

'And from this I know, I cannot have cancer at any cost.' Yukan thought and walked to his house.

When he stepped inside, he saw his mother's old face.

"Welcome back, cutie pie. How was your day? Anyways, help me out with these clothes." Aayu told Yukan to help her fold all the clothes.

"Ah, yeah, It was good," Yukan answered her and went inside to help her.

As the two were folding clothes, Aayu continued to talk about different things.

"You know, I met my daught- I mean, Kushina today. She told me that Mikoto got married a few months ago. When will you get married?" Aayu asked Yukan. More like she taunted Yukan for not getting married till now.

"MOM!!! I am only 17 right now." Yukan shouted in surprise.

"I just wanted to see your wedding, nothing else."

"Don't worry mom. You will be seeing my wedding for sure." Yukan said, reassuring Aayu.

A sad smile appeared on Aayu's face and Yukan failed to notice it.

"I will," Aayu said as she closed her eyes with a sad smile.

Meanwhile, Yukan was thinking about the future in his mind.

'I have to give the pill to mom too but I need to keep some in case someone close to me gets any injury. What should I do?' Yukan kept on thinking about it until he was finished folding clothes.

'System, take 6% of the pill and break it into powder. I'll give it to mom right before leaving.'

-2 Days Later-

Yukan was carrying a hot teacup from the kitchen to the living room.

On his way, he added the pill he had powdered previously.

When he entered the living room, his mother, who sat on the sofa, watched the T.V.

He went to her and gave the cup to her.

"Here mom, the tea you asked for." Yukan gave her the tea and said,

"Thank you but, aren't you getting late for your mission? I thought you had already left." Aayu said.

"I am leaving now. Bye, mom." Yukan said. He hugged her once and then left the house.

He soon reached the Gate of Konoha.

Kushina stood there, waiting for him.

"Why are you here?" Yukan asked when he saw Kushina.

"You're here? Here, take this. I made it better this time." Kushina said and handed Yukan a red rose made of ribbons.

It was much better made than the previous one.

"Wow, you made this for me? Thank you." Yukan said.

He hugged her with one arm, kissed her on the forehead and then said," I'll leave now. My squad must be waiting at the meet-up location."

Kushina nodded, permitting Yukan to leave.

Yukan left Konoha after he got his name registered. After he covered some distance, he found a spot where no one could see him and took out the ANBU mask.

He wore it and ran some more distance. He stopped again in an empty area after running for a while.

Three men came out of hiding. They also wore ANBU masks and black cloaks covering their whole body.

"Ozawa, Kajiwara, Takido. You're all here." Yukan said. He recognized the three men.

They were his colleagues during the Second Ninja War.

"Yup, you are the one who is late, captain," Ozawa said.

"I got a little caught up in some work. Let's leave if there is nothing else." Yukan said.

The three shook their heads and the four of them left the place.

-At Night-

The squad of four had run a long distance and were only a day's travel away from Takigakure.

Yukan was still running without feeling very tired but when he looked at his other teammates, he saw that they were pretty tired.

Their speed of breathing was also very high.

Yukan slowed his speed gradually and when he found a spot perfect to rest, he stopped.

"Let's rest here for today. We set out again tomorrow morning. I will be the first one on the lookout." Yukan said.

Everyone then started gathering wood to make a fire and Yukan went to catch fish.

When he came back with the fish, the fire was already lit and four sharp wood sticks were stuck to the ground.

"Captain, I always make the food for us. Why don't you make it for us today?" Takido said.

"Are you guys sure?" Yukan asked to confirm. He did not want to become Shion in the eyes of others after getting Benimaru's template.

"Yeah," Ozawa said.

"It was you guys," Yukan said and then started to grill the fish.

Meanwhile, In Konoha

Aayu walked out of the house and sat down on the lawn.

She gazed at the stars for a long time before moving again.

"The house is so empty again." She looked at the dark house behind her and said with a blank expression.

She stood up and started to walk.

She kept on walking for quite some time and in the end, she entered a cave.

There was a big lake in the cave. Aayu stood at a higher ground and looked at the lake below her.

"I think it is time," Aayu said.

She looked up, out of the large hole on the roof of the cave, she looked at the stars one last time and then jumped into the lake.
