33 Chapter 33

<Gun: Three Days Prior>

I covered myself in the multiple blankets I had asked for. I felt guilty asking for so many but I miss the sheep who would gather around me. It doesn't feel right if I'm not suffocating in the warmth of the sheep's wool. Hopefully, they are alright, especially since I set them free. I didn't want them to stay locked up in the barn with no one there to provide food or water. I doubt the guards would give that barn a second thought.

I thought that I wouldn't feel comfortable sleeping somewhere new but I felt surprisingly good. Especially since Cielo was sleeping so close. I told him that it was fine if he wanted to sleep further from me but he refused. In the end, we slept next to each other for the rest of the night. I think…

After I closed my eyes and fell asleep, I saw shadows moving in front of me. I tried walking forward but I ran into an invisible screen. I looked around but other than what was in front of me, black walls surrounded me.

I suddenly heard a scream coming from one of the shadows. The other raised a giant spike ball connected by a chain to their arm and whirled it down atop of the other's head.

Other shadows rushed in and the images shifted to another.

Shadows gathered around a box. It looked like a funeral but suddenly turned into a fight among themselves. Weapons flew around and connected with each other. I could only hear the clanking of weapons and the cries of war.

The image shifted once more. This time, I could see my surroundings from all sides. Two shadows sat at the edge of a cliff.

I looked over the cliff and saw orange trees covered in snow on one side. One the other, dark clouds rained down on pink colored trees. I looked up at the sky, the right was cloudy and I couldn't see the sky but the snowy side was filled with red and white stars. There were two giant moons close together in the center.

"Why did he do it?" One of the shadows asked

The other shrugged "Same reason as the others"

"And what's that?"

"Power"

"But they have been friends since they were kids! Gramps treated him like a brother! But just because Arold is a Mace and gramps was a Gun means that they are destined to be enemies? I don't believe that! I won't!"

"Doesn't matter if you believe it or not. Arold killed Gramps. The end."

"Then, do you believe that's how we'll end up? Killing each other? Will this war really not end until one weapon is at the top? What'll happen to the others?"

The other shadow didn't say anything to that, instead they looked up at the sky and asked "Do you believe that somewhere, somehow, there is another civilization on another planet looking back at us and wondering if we exist?"

"Don't count on it. Before the war, we used to fly all over the galaxy and found nothing."

"Really? I heard that there's someone trying to go back into space again. Apparently, they found a planet that's similar to ours and they think that life might be able to live there"

"Really? I wonder if we can go. Run away from this hell"

The other shadow sighed "I wish"

Sound suddenly went silent. The sounds of the rain, the wind, the two shadows, everything went silent.

I stepped toward the shadows who were still talking among themselves. But after the second step, the floor crumbled and I fell over the edge of the cliff.

I screamed and watched as darkness enveloped the scene above me.

I closed my eyes.

"Gun!" Someone yelled

I opened my eyes and saw the third leader in front of me. He looked younger. He had solid dark purple hair that was once a solid white color. He has fewer wrinkles around his face. He's usually light green eyes directly at me. He held his gun at a target a few yards away.

"Stop messing around. If the guards find out that you can't even shoot this far, how do you think they'll react?" He asked me

"Probably not good" I replied

"If I'd known that they'd find you this quickly, I would have trained you earlier."

I looked down at my smaller gun "I'm sorry"

Their leader sighed "Don't be. I'm the one at fault. I chose this route without knowing or even thinking about the consequences beforehand."

"When's mom coming back?" I asked

"I don't know" he replied

We trained until night came. Dad left me in the barn and went back to his duties. He won't be back until tomorrow in the afternoon. After he has finished guarding the guards.

"That's so stupid." I whispered "Whoever thought thought that guards should need guards is so stupid"

I gathered as many sheep as I could find and got ready for bed. I looked down at a bucket of water and saw my usual dark purple hair and light green eyes. But this isn't my face. Who the hell am I?
