51 Ch 50: Two Demons One Sword

It had been weeks after they had dealt with the minotaur. Lucius kept reminding himself of the beast's strength. How it overpowered them, how useless and futile his attacks were.

"Shame..."

Greatswords, a weapon that very much shouts strength. To wield such a large weapon one would need strength. But his sword had none.

Lucius used his shortsword and practiced his swordsmanship. His magic blade was powerful, terrifying even, but mana was both a blessing and a curse. It was good to choose something you were good at and hone it to perfection but one must also have a few options to choose from if the time arises that he could not rely on mana.

Talent was one of the thing Lucius had but not with the sword. His magical talent was amazing due to his parents genetics but his swordsmanship was just mediocre. A hollow imitation of the Ruler of Bones.

His seniors often taught him a few tips amd tricks but not their own personal swordsmanship. To those that did not know what swordsmanship was, it was the art of the sword. Where to swing, when to swing, and how you swing. There's also footwork, a technique focused on the feet. It allows them to move fluently and have a sturdier stance. Throughout history there are hundreds of swordmanship, each one having their own strengths and flaws. However there are those with exceptionally good swordsmanship. These are inherited by their family or student. Those that teach swordsmanship to anyone is merely teaching the basics.

"Maybe i should ask him for help... then again he did use a spear."

Lucius thought of asking Grim for help but perhaps the reaper didn't use a sword. Then he realized perhaps he was being too greedy.

"The fruits of the harvest you've grown are always sweeter than the one's you've bought. I thinks its time i make something with my own hands."

Grim had handed him strength wrapped nicely in a basket. But now it was turn that strength into something that he could claim as his own. He didn't just yet but perhaps he'd be able to learn if he could understand how others use their own swords.

There are those that place value on their weapon in order achieve greater things by convincing themselves of their ideals. He merely sees his weapon as what it is, a tool for killing.

Lucius was about to leave and take a hot bath when he saw both Caesaris and Veronica fighting with their magical abilities.

This battle was far from fair yet they were nearly equally matched. Lucius moved towards them to see more of what they were throwing at each other.

Caesaris was leading the fight like usual. However Veronica was far from easy to grasp. Caesaris had incredible magic power and nearly a nigh-unbreakable defence but her attacks couldn't get pass through Veronica's barriers and when they do, her agile movement made her harder to hit.

Their ways of fightung were different and yet they better than Lucius'. Unlike the young man, both of the demons use their magic power very limittedly when battling each other. Caesaris' nearly bottomless mana made it hard for Veronica to slowly wittle her down but Veronica couldn't also win due to Caesaris natural defences being high resistant. That's not even factoring in her physical prowess. Veronica's strategy is extremely easy. All she needed to do was hold out until Caesaris agrees that this is a stalemate. Because even if they could tear down the entire capital, both of them would still be standing. Why? Because Veronica focuses on control and support utilizing her movement and placement to shield herself and control the opponents attacks. While Caesaris lacks the proper experience to fight individuals who fight similar to Veronica. It wasn't that she didn't want to, it was that no one could ever stand up after taking one blow of her magic.

Both of the demons focused more on controlling the battlefield and magic. The way Caesaris constructs her magic was nearly perfect and her control over it was phenomenal. Veronica's ability to dodge and place herself around the battlefield to give her a slight advantagous position need both skill and experience. They were confident in their magic, they didn't hesitate, and they were always ready to use it.

Lucius left and prepared to take a hot bath. That fight would probably still keep going until a professor stops it.

He entered the men's bath and scrubbed his body clean. His mind constanlty thought of how and what he could do to strengthen hinself.

"Power... Something every man wants."

Lucius sat down and submerged his body in hot water. His mind echoing the word power. Was it wrong to seek it? Everyone would say no unless there were conditions.

"I also have my authority. How do i strengthen it as well?"

The authority of death, his special ability to turn anyone into a mortal. Could he one day kill someone just by a mere thought? Speculations and probabilities that could never be answered with anything except time.

Lucius rubbed his silky smooth hair and gave an acknowledging nod.

"Which ever merchant made these conditioners, you have me respect."

With the world being larger than earth, there was bound to be more merchant who either created or made something similar to the 20th century products.

But Lucius silence was disturbed as several of his classmen came in and took their bath. They were roudy and loud that it made Lucius slightly frown.

He'd wanted to get out but the water just felt too nice to leave.

When they first saw him in the bath, there was a fiasco of trying to figure out if he was a woman but his cracking nuckles was enough to convince them. Now everytime they managed to bathe together they would give Lucius a good area of the bath to himself. Which wasn't soo bad since Lucius could still enjoy it a while longer.

Then one of the slightly rare occurence happen. The academy had plenty if nobles but the there were still a good majority of commoners. The women at the other side enjoyed talking to themselves. And usually they would compare their sizes.

"Dear lord have mercy upon these souls, bonk them into salvation."

Lucius muttered as all of the entire room became as quiet as it could. The boys have became one collective mind like someone was controlling them and listened to the women's conversations.

'Honestly i never understand why these fucker's act like this. PH was a good site and there is something close to it in this world too. Their bodies might not even compare.'

Lucius shook his head at the other people around him. But he wasn't going to ruin the mood, if that's what they want then who was he to stop them.

"Is that miss Veronica and miss Caesaris!?"

One of the girls from the other side exclaimed. It wasn't an everyday occurence that they get to bath with stunning beauties.

This made Lucius unconsciously turn his head towards the wall behind him.

All the other guys stared at him with grinning expressions. He swore he heard someone say "I knew something interested him" in a whispering voice.

"Have you no shame."

Lucius looked at them with judging eyes.

"Of course, its that nature of all young men, Luc."

Garran emerged from the crowd and gave Lucius an answer with a very smug face.

Lucius didn't give him more time and turned his back on them and placed a hot blanket on his face and leaned on the wall.

'Bitchass was also here.'

He was about to meditate and try to focus on the core inside of him when it was suddenly broken.

Caesaris was someone cold and aloof towards anyone she didn't acknowledge but Veronica was very much sociable. She started to talk to the other girls about explicit topics containing very detail information.

'Inner peace... Inner peace.'

He concentrated more until eventually he got to visualize what his core looked like. Mana was in the air, and the core could either help the user intake mana and refine it to their magic or use the affinityless mana in the air.

A teal core sat inside a large abyss. Darkness spanned endless everywhere but his core was shinning amidst it all. It had rings around it spinning and circulating mana.

"Its soft and smooth. Here touch it."

"I couldn't possibly-"

"Try it."

His focused was once again brokem by Veronica. Lucius could only speculate that she was doing this on purpose.

'Bitch, i dare you to do it again.'

From his mind Lucius swore.

"Of course, you can squeeze it if you would like."

At this point Lucius was sure this wasn't a coincidense. She was firmly messing with him.

'Did you know that the spacetime theory of relativity that Einstein made was amazing? Well let me tell you something. Gravititional force apparently bends the fabric of space. If line moved in a straight line then the let say light would travel straight. But if it was bent by the gravititional force then light will have to follow the bent line. That's the space part, the time part is where even though the bent line where light travels to should be longer because there is more ground to cover but the time within it becomes faster thanks to time dilation making the speed of light consistent. Thats it in a nutshell.'

Lucius was hoping to confuse Veronica with what little he knew about the theory of relativity.

But he forgot that Veronica read one of his diaries.

"Did you know that the greater~ the mass the greater the force of attraction~. I heard it from a friend."

Lucius had enough with Veronica and decided to leave. He had bathed enough, he was satisfied.

He enjoyed a quiet time within his dreams afterwards. There was more progress he made and it was hell of a lot more quieter than the bath.
