Tomorrow Comes

Cheers erupted from a stadium as audience members were on their feet in anticipation.

"On the right side we have the high-devil Riser Phenex and his entire peerage! Vs the unknown, the slayer! ADRIIIIIIIIIIIAAAANN" An announcer shouted.

Hot flames erupted from the battlefield below as Riser emerged followed by each member of his peerage. They wore arrogant smiles which Adrian would happily wipe off.

"What would you like Adrian if you win?" Sirzechs said over the loud noises. Many people were gobsmacked that he'd offer a privilege to someone unknown.

"I wish to kill Riser and free Rias from her marriage, because might as well" He said with a nonchalant shrug.

Everyone couldn't believe what he'd just said and Riser started laughing. "You puny insect think you can even come close to fighting me!? I will even give you my entirety of my worth... That is if you can win" He said barking out laughter. The devils in the stands were outraged that he'd do that, but they all felt that it'd be an easy game for him. His peerage joined him in snickering at the 'misfortune' of their opponent.

"1...'

"BEGIN!" The announcer shouted.

Riser began to brag about ending this as quick as possible as he and the rest of his peerage were about to rush Adrian until a gauntlet like gear appeared on his hand. Many watched in interest as it started glowing, then Adrian let out a dark chuckle sending shivers down many spines.

"You think you're a phoenix... You know nothing you insolent BRAT!" He spat with venom. "I'LL SHOW YOU AND YOU'RE ARROGANT FAMILY A REAL PHOENIX!" Adrian roared as he called out -

"[Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys] I summon thee, come forth in a burst of flames and cleanse these impostors of their CLAIMS!" With that a blast of fire erupted from the ground as a beautiful phoenix like creature was summoned. The pressure alone pushed man of the standing audience members down.

Risers peerage all fell down as Riser had barely managed to kneel let alone stand. The high devils in the stands were in awe at the power and even they felt the pressure that was slowly getting to them.

With a mighty screech, rosy flames erupted from the beasts mouth devouring all the devils in it's wake as rings were heard throughout as all piece of Risers fell. Unfortunately for him he didn't. The flame did graze him and left a substantial burn on his arm causing many to gasp in horror. A phoenix couldn't heal that, a phoenix had just been burnt, by a true phoenix not just a self proclaimed one. The Phenex family were furious, but that would only grow after what Adrian had planned.

Riser was spouting shit saying how he was the best and how he could've lost all of his members. That's when he shouted "You're just a coward hiding behind that bird! Face me like a true man!"

"Rich coming from someone with an army of girls, INCLUDING HIS SISTER protecting him whilst also bragging about being immortal... But if that is thy wish." Adrian said with a dramatic bow eliciting giggles from some girls around the arena.

The Phoenix started to glow as it disappeared which shocked many thinking that, was his only weapon. Riser seeing this grinned, clearly he forgot their earlier altercations.

Instantly he conjured a massive fireball and flung it towards a close eyed Adrian. Many gasped, but those that watched especially the more powerful devils felt a heavy demonic energy as they saw a red and blue blur before the fire ball dispersed and was instead replaced by a small dagger which zoomed across the pitch instantly embedding Risers shoulder.

He screamed in pain as he heard a click sound and looked up. Adrian was strolling over as he summoned his sword which others looked at fearfully. The father of Riser instantly began cursing and shouting out for the match to stop.

Adrian turned and looked into his eyes coldly and said "If it were me, would you kill me? Or let a future enemy live? Someone who was going to make an heiress his play thing? Someone that wanted to kill me enough to cheat! And someone who agreed to the rules?" Many devils agreed with this as most did hate the arrogant prick, but the man was still his father he wouldn't let up without resistance.

"I'll let your daughter keep his peerage and half of his wealth.. Either that or I still kill him and you get nothing..." Before the man had time to speak the sword was already flung down instantly beheading the collapsed Phenex. Shocked gasps were heard as this unknown beat a proclaimed immortal without breaking a sweat.

This was the beginning of 'The Unknown' and his journeys throughout this world.
