5 Chapter : 5 National University Of Aétria

Fera was now in the capital with Alyce. She was told that every elite studies in the capital and lives there until their graduation. Fera was first shocked to learn about the culture of Aétria but it was definitely not more weird than the existence of a parallel world and doppelgangers. She also knows that people in the NUA are mostly scared of the Nation's Children. Mabel calls it respect. So she has to put a good show and never let anyone know about truth though no one would believe it even if they themselves tell them. One more thing is that she has to keep an enough distance between her and Nathan for God's know what reason.

''Have you eaten anything in the flight?'' Alyce asked. ''No'' she simply said. ''Okay you can have your breakfast from the kitchen, I am sure our maids had definitely prepared something. '' Alyce was always taking care of Fera since the moment Mabel told her to watch over her. ''You should get ready. We are leaving at 8:30.'' Alyce reminded her. Unlike her university, NUA starts early which makes students to enter the gates by 9 or they cannot attend the whole day. Mabel's house in the capital is 15 minutes away from the NUA by car so they usually leave thirty minutes before.

Now, they were heading to the NUA and Alyce was telling her about Mabel's honours degree. Fera was not shocked to learn that Mabel was pursuing law. It was understandable with Mabel's way of thinking and always contemplating before reaching the conclusion, sure she knew how to play politics.

But what worried both Alyce and Fera was that Fera didn't even knew the Law of her own country except traffic rules, whereas Mabel had memorised all the six Constitution of each wings and the cooperation pact between the wings. So, it was going to be hard for Fera to survive in the class from professor's unpredictable questions.

''Anyone can tell that something is wrong with Mabel if you would be yourself. I am telling a bunch of things that you should not do Or you'll get yourself in trouble." Alyce instructed. "First of all, Never try to be your extrovert self. Like never. This is the one thing Mabel would not do, so don't be friendly to any random person. Secondly, Mabel might be a genius but she never show it off. It is always unexpected and only happens when someone tries to act all big in front of her. One more thing, she never hesitates to show her dislike toward something or.... someone. What I mean by that is, you don't need to behave so nicely with Harper or her other b!tches. Do you get that? ''Alyce said.

This was so much to take in but Fera has processed everything and now she knew that she has to be mean and bossy, something that doesn't suit her but she has to do it anyway. ''Don't worry. I won't mess things up.'' Fera assured her. ''I will be there too to help you if get in any trouble.'' Alyce said. ''Didn't expect to see you right in front of the gate? '' suddenly they heard a male voice. Fera turned around to see the person. And she was right, he was a boy of their age. He was a tall guy but not as much as Elijah or Aiden. He had medium length blonde hair and dark brown eyes which were staring into Fera's hazel one.

''What are you doing here, Conner? '' Alyce spat. Ouch that was a harsh tone which Fera didn't heard from Alyce. ''Why? Only you can stand anywhere you want, not me. Does your powerful and cleverer-than-a-fox best friend owns the street or the gate too? '' he said.

He was standing in front of her. She finally met him in person and she couldn't believe that he would be exactly like how Mabel described him to be: filled with mischief, unreasonably sarcastic and a huge pain in the ass.

''You're really obsessed with me, aren't you?'' Fera asked trying her best to sound like Mabel with those eyebrows movement that Mabel usually do.

''Maybe, But not as much as you are, with Liam. '' Nathan said trying to piss her off by bring up Liam which would have worked with Mabel but Fera didn't feel bad at all.

'' Why? Are you jealous? Don't tell me you try to mess with me because you want my attention. Or You had a teenage crush on me." Fera spoke raising her eyebrows. "I didn't do anything on the party and you know it too. It was you who spiked the drink for me but Harper drank that. Did you really think that I would be fooled by that pathetic trick of yours? No, I will never be such an idiot. Seriously, why is your teenage hormones kicking in, NOW!? Looks like your your body has grown But your brain." she took a deep breathe to start speaking again. "Just don't forget that I didn't do anything to you after the party, so don't provoke me to do something that you won't like. I hope this was enough for you to stay away from me and start acting like a mature 21 year old.'' Fera half shouted and then left while dragging Alyce with her.

''Did she just broke out of her calm but bitchy persona in front of me?'' Nathan muttered to himself.

''What you did? ''Alyce said while stopping Fera at the corridor. ''What? '' Fera asked. ''You gave him the satisfaction he wants. Why do you think he always mess with Mabel. It is because he always tries to piss her off so she shout on him but she never does that, on the contrary, it is her who piss him. But now you just surrendered to him.'' Alyce said.

''How can he be satisfied if someone just shouted on him? He must be a sociopath if he's feeling like that. '' Fera said. ''I know you don't really get that. Just know it's Nathan we're talking about and he is always up to something unpredictable but expected.'' Alyce said.

''I think I should go to the first lecture as you said Mabel is never late but don't worry I'll see you in the break. '' Fera said and left for her first lecture as Mabel.

''Really?'' a guy said as he was listening to Nathan. ''Yeah, even I am shocked. She really shouted on me. '' Nathan said while a smile creeped out on his lips. ''No, not that. Mabel shouting on you is still believable but you acting like you're mesmerised or even like it is weird and.... gross. '' he said while making a disgusted face. ''Oh come on Mark, you're still not mad with me because of the party. '' Nathan said.

''No way Nate. I am actually really happy that you tried to make our friend's sister consume hemp but ended up making your cousin's fiance have that and blame it on Mabel.'' he sarcastically said. ''You know that I feel sad about that. Also, it was supposed to be a joke and it could have been if the love triangle didn't make a big deal out of it.'' Nathan said. ''What do you think Luke will feel if he'll know the truth. And how guilty Liam would be if he'll know that he blamed the wrong person for that.'' Mark questioned.

''It's not even that much of a big deal. Harper just lost a bit of consciousness and acted like she was drunk that's it. ''

''You are not understanding Nate. She almost embarrassed herself in front of her future in-laws and other ministers. And then Liam blamed Mabel in front of everyone. She was insulted for no reason. ''

''Almost. She didn't embarrass herself.''

''What about Mabel? She was blamed for it because of you. If she didn't defend herself, she probably would've been locked in the northern palace. ''

''I know that. And I want to apologize for it but she just shoved me off.''

''She couldn't have if you yourSELF didn't start something new again. You sometimes really act like a sociopath who wants to win against The Great Mabeline Marie Clark, the Northern State's daughter, who was the first person ever to defeat you in the National Academic Olympiad. '' Nathan didn't say anything after that and ignored his best friend's comment.

''We should to go class. It's getting late.'' he tried to change the subject. ''Now you even want to go to the class just to see Mabel. Sometimes I feel like you are weirdly obsessed with her.'' Mark said while walking toward the class.
