Reformation, Part 1

"New fourth leader!? Do you got a person in mind for that position?" Jin asked.

A fourth leader, huh? It instantly made me think of Lyde. He's got potential, but I don't think he's ready for the responsibility yet. If there's someone I'd recommend in my squad, nothing else comes to mind.

"How about Ludwig? The guy from Lexi's group." Ash suggested.

"Don't wanna recommend him. If he becomes the new leader then who's going to be my right hand?! It's difficult to handle the idiots in my squad since they're all so dumb, without Ludwig everything will be a mess!" Lexi complained.

"Of course, we don't want that. It was already difficult enough to control your temper and sudden urges to beat people, so Ludwig is definitely out of the picture." Aside from the Ludwig guy they mentioned, Ash is the other person who takes care of Lexi.

Lexi and I are both on the same level when it comes to strength, only at that area. But unlike me who is totally decent and sane as a person, Lexi can cause a lot of commotion or go on rampage randomly like a literal wild beast. He was only nominated as one of the gang leaders because he was also one of the founding members.

"Fine. What about you Ash? Is there someone in your group that can be the fourth leader?"

"…well, yeah. Maki can be fourth leader, he's really capable and responsible but, uhmm… how should I say this…" Ash scratched his head. I sighed as I remembered Maki, Ash's right hand. He's fine but—"the guy's like a punching bag most of the time."

"Can't you be a little considerate to your comrade!?" I can't help but react that way. The guy's just so gravely pitiful that I can even actually feel bad for him which is considered most impossible to happen.

"Hehe, it won't hurt him if he's not here to hear it." He laughed.

"Nope. Our reputation can be affected if there's someone like that to as a leader of our gang." Jin gazed at me, and I can tell what he's already asking for.

"You can handle your gang just fine, and you don't even have the need for assistance. How about offering Lyde the position? As far as I can see, the kid got some potential." Tsk. He's right, Lyde can do well as the fourth leader. But I feel like I can't agree to him so easily.

"Lyde hasn't been in the gang for long, and he's still lacking in a lot of areas. It's better to find someone else." And originally, he was never a thug before. So he's hella ignorant about the gang life.

"What about Jeiro?" Ren asked.

"I kicked that guy out because he was beaten by Lyde. And of course, Lyde has to take his role." I told him.

Lexi chuckled. "Such ashame, I liked that guy."

"...he was pretty troublesome. Many had it rough with him, and ended resting in dirt too soon." I can remember the times that he'd go far just because I let him be at times, and it's making me a little uncomfortable how he keeps going for those kind of things.

So I was really glad to kick him out and have Lyde serve under me. Lyde never gave me trouble, though he's clumsy at times and a bit weird. I'm glad he never did things like Jeiro did, everything is more peaceful with him.

But that won't make me forgot that I still have to beat that kid.

"Actually, now that Lyde was mentioned, it was weird..." Ren suddenly brought up.

"Do you mean..."

"Remember the girl last time? The one with the vice commander of the Reapers?"

"Yeah! That one!"

"They look so similar. They were really alike, and seeing a girl that looks like a guy I know feels so weird."

"I think the girl was kinda pretty though..."

"Man, she literally looks like Lyde."

As they were suddenly talking about that. The thought struck me. When I saw the girl that looked like Lyde, I could feel that I've seen her before and I just can't remember.

Then again, there was also that time! I almost forgot about Lyde's hair. It was like split-second when I saw his hair got misplaced on his head. But whenever I would mess with his head, it was still intact. I'm not so sure to go with such conclusions, but it's been messing with my head recently...

What if Lyde... it can't be... right?

"...anyway, it must just be some coincidence. But I'm going to put Lyde as one of the possible candidates for the fourth leader position whether you guys like it or not."

"O-Oi. Don't decide it like that, Lyde's my right hand. I'm the one in-charge of what I'm going to do with him!" I told Ren, though it seems like his ears are closed. What a shitty boss!

"Alright, I've listed a few more candidates here myself. So prepare yourselves for the next meeting, the gang reformation must go into a successful process!" Even so, I had no choice but to do as he says since he's still the boss. Everyone agreed along and the quick meeting has come to an end.
