28 Exploring the system

After studying, everybody went home. Exhausted, I lay down on my bed and called out my system.

I looked at my system and just felt annoyed. Why are there so many god damn categories now, maybe I should not have taken the free system upgrade. Now everything is going to take a much longer time to upgrade. I guess the saying that there's no such thing as a free lunch is true.

I'm sure that by the end of the year, all my stats would have reached level 5 and some may even be higher. However, I did not know if I was going to improve in time to face the generation of miracles during the nationals.

Ah, if only there was a tool which allowed me to see the levels of others as well. That would be insanely useful, at the moment all I can do is use the simple eye test. Now that I think of it, I haven't really explored what the shop function is about.

Shop, I called out in my mind and watched the screen change.

Holy crap, that is one hell of a shop. Alright so first there are some temporary boost. I guess I can use those when I'm running on fumes. It would be insanely useful during games which go into overtime or high intensity games. I would say the 50 general points are a little overpriced though. I would have to save up for 2 and a half days to afford one of those.

For the permanent features, everything there is definitely useful. Sticky fingers and Increased wingspan is pretty obvious but the larger feet is also a definite buy. Having larger feet would give me more balance and allow me to set my feet more quickly. It would also give me a larger surface to push off on so I definitely won't be surprised if my vertical increased as well.

Reflexes are important. I might even say that it is just behind height in terms of importance for basketball. Imagine having the reflexes to be able to react to a defender in mid air or while dribbling. Having extremely quick reflexes could make me unguardable on the court.

However, I see the little trick they pulled off there. They are making me purchase a reflex boost 3 times. It's basically trying to trick me into thinking that god reflexes are cheap but I would actually end up paying 1800 general points for it.

Lastly there are the badges. The daily missions level 5 is the next thing I'm going to buy. I just need about 3000 points till I manage to get it. What's more is that I get an increase of 30 to 40 points each day along the way. I'm sure if I start saving right now I can get it in about 2 months or so, just in time for the preliminaries.

The specialty badges are a no go for me at the moment. First is because they are too expensive and second is that there is confirm some cooldown to it. I doubt the badge would improve my levels by 2 permanently, it would probably give me a temporarily boost for about 2 minutes or so.

Man, I also did not find the badge I was looking for. I expected to see some badge which would give me the levels of other players. Isn't that what happens in all the other mangas or novels. I'm just gonna hope and pray that it is one of the badges that must be earned and cannot be bought.

Alright, now its time to go to sleep. I had made plans to meet Aomine at the court tomorrow, I couldn't wait to destroy him.

Hi guys, this novel is just a holiday project for me. I have recently started another side project which is to program a game. I have to do these 2 projects in addition to basketball so the amount of chapters each week would probably decrease. I would probably only post about 4 chapters each week. Thanks.
