Gods Save Me

I slip on my black, short-sleeved summer dress and knee-high boots before tying my impossibly-long hair up into a braid. I'm surprised it hasn't torn my head off yet, considering how it whips around behind me when I ride my Harley.

And as little as I'm afraid of him, I'm worried about what Suit said about Jacket. I made him mad, and 'that never ends well'. I've been worrying about it all night. I eat a piece of toast once down in the kitchen, all this worrying has made me lose my appetite. I finish it quickly and go out to the garage, carefully fitting on my helmet over the thick braid.

I open up the garage door and hop on my Harley, slowly driving out, pressing the 'close' button on the wall on my way. From there, I speed off towards the school, only a few miles over the limit, not that any of the cops seem to notice, the hell is up with this town? It's like a calm purge 24/7.

I park and take off my helmet, securing my bike before walking into the school. I quickly grab my books from my locker and speed to science, I don't want to get caught up in whatever that was yesterday again. I sit down on the desk of the broken chair, I'm not relenting on this spot, no matter how mad Jacket gets, it's a matter of principle.

As expected, he walks in late, and after seeing me, takes the teacher's chair again. Throughout the class I catch him looking at me every now and then, and the girls ogling him, along with the boys ignoring him. Aside from the other two that wear leather jackets. They look at him with hard eyes full of respect from time to time, the rest of the time they ignore the teacher. Classes around here are seriously weird.

At the end of class, Jacket approaches me, pinning me to the wall, his hand beside my head. I avoid his face by admiring the stitching on his jacket's sleeve. Jeez, this guy is rude.

"That's quite a stunt you pulled yesterday, makin' me look stupid in front'a' the class." He says.

"Just spreading the truth." I retort, glaring at him, staring him in the eyes. They're hard and dull, but a wonderful shade of brown, cognac I realize.

"How about we go for a drive?" He growls.

"No thank you, I'd like to actually learn today." He sticks his face in mine, an intimidation tactic.

"It'll be educational. I promise." I can feel his breath on my face and I cough. He's a smoker. He backs up a little to let me cough but keeps me pinned.

"No, I mean like, I'd like to learn in the school."

"Too bad. We're going for a ride."

"No, we're not." I sidestep to my left, where his hand isn't. He slams his other hand next to my head. Loudly. Gods, these lockers clang a lot.

"That's not an option." He's growling again, what is he? A dog?

"Listen, Fido, I'm not going anywhere with you." His surprise is evident.

"Fido?" He asks, a laugh in his voice, though he tries to hide it.

"Yeah, cause you just keep growling like a dog." He grabs my waist with both hands, much to my surprise. I don't even have any time to react before he slings me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. "Put me down!" I yell as he starts to carry me out of the school. "I said DOWN!" I bellow as he carries me through the parking lot.

I kick him the face and he drops me. I run back towards the school and his two lackeys come up, trying to stop me, I pause momentarily to punch each in the face before taking off toward the school again. Jacket comes running up and stops me. He's got me in a restraining hug, pinning my arms to my sides and lifting me a good foot off the ground. This dude's a giant.

He's carrying me across the parking lot again, to the car of my dreams. A '97 Chevy Impala.

"Oh, Gods..." I murmur, and he hears.

"You like it?"

"Like it? It's the car of my dreams." I answer.

"You seem like the type," He comments as he puts me down. I look at him questioningly before running for the driver's seat. He wraps me back up in the restraining position again.

"No, you're not driving my Baby, Sweetheart." He states.

"You Dean Winchester or somethin'?" I ask as he puts me in the driver's side passenger seat.

"I'm somethin' worse, Sweetheart." He slams the door before I can question him any further.

He climbs into the driver's seat and revs the engine. As soon as I hear it I swear I melt. This is a dream come true, ya know, aside from being with him and him kidnapping me. He speeds off through town and I roll my window down, sticking my arm out, laughing my head off.

He rolls to a stop at the docks.

"You seem awful happy." He observes.

"Hell yeah, I am! This is a dream come true!" I exclaim.

"How so?" He asks, slinking his arm around my shoulders. I let it stay there. For now.

"This car is beautiful, and seeing one in real life! Oh, gods... And we were speeding! I never get over that thrill."

"Or maybe, it's me?" He smirks.

"You wish," I say coldly, removing his arm.

"C'mon, Sweetheart, I saw you checking me out."

"You're not the hottest guy I've seen. But I love the jacket."

"Figured you would. You know what it means?" He replies.

"No," I state.

"It means I'm in a gang. And I'm its leader."

"Oh, gods," I say, opening the door and getting out. I close it and start speed walking away, repeating that sentence over and over.

I hear the Impala behind me and it sends shivers up my spine.

"C'mon, Sweetheart, you can't walk to school, it's too far."

"I don't have to," I respond. I just have to get away. I finish in my head.

"Fine. I'll search the ditches for you later." He drives off and I breathe a breath of relief. It's not too far to my house where I can calm down and think this through. The hell just happened? Why did I actually go for a ride with him, Impala or not?

Mood swings~ Yikes, I'd probably react the same way to that car, too. Even if I was with a stranger. Guess I'm too easy-going when it comes to that.
