Chapter 15

Blair

Learning about the boy latched on the captain's arms was easy. I had one of my trusty team members, Georgina, do it who was known for her conniving ways to attain information.

It had been three days after the sight occured and the following day I already had Georgina working on the case. Two days passed and due to my patience treading on thin ice, I inquired her about it only to be told a lot had yet to be looked into.

On a Saturday afternoon, I was having tea at the balcony when Terrance told me she was waiting at the foyer. Excitement bubbled in my stomach as I scrunched and picked up the long robe I wore as loungewear.

She was a light brunette with a petite frame. Diva-like sunglasses rested atop her head and the lascivious outfit she wore made the staff give me questionable looks.

Not heeding to them, I took the manila folder from her hands and in exchange, handed her the envelope of cash I promised at the beginning.

Unable to contain herself, she took a peek of the thin wad of cash encased in the envelope and Georgina flashed me a pleased smile, "It was a pleasure doing business with you."

I responded by nodding curtly to show that I thought likewise. Terrance accompanied her on the way out and I headed up the stairs, clutching the folder in my hands tightly.

I took a minute to compose myself before I opened it to reveal several pieces of paper fastened on top of one another. Pages filled with pictures and information unraveled before me but due to the lack of organization, I had no idea where to start.

Eyeing the pages, it didn't seem like organization was needed at all. There was no specific order and I could dig in wherever I liked. I picked up a paper that had a picture of the volleyball player and the mystery boy at some mainstream diner with the caption "February 2017."

My eyebrow rose at the text below me. I dove into more of the papers, reading each and every line with curiosity and inquisition. Sadly, his profile didn't spark my interest as much as I thought it would and I jeeringly wondered who would ever want to date the boy.

His name was Matthew Richards. He was an Aries, born on March 20th. He had a family lineage full of politicians and judging by his records, his destiny to continue their legacy was written in stone.

The information uncovered didn't surprise me at all. I knew I wasn't the only one with a powerful family in Belleview High. I had the blood of a Westwood and the brain of a Harrington. I wasn't easily threatened by a golden boy.

I barely saw him at school, and I didn't doubt that he was one of those who judged and ridiculed the type of people who belonged in my crowd. It wasn't like we depended on high school as our kingdom, we knew our rule was going to relinquish as soon as we graduated.

He and Whitney dated for a couple of months in sophomore year. His family didn't approve of such a girl that didn't match their taste, and was made to end things with her. Knowing how the minds of politicians worked, the relationships of their younger generations reflected on who they were as leaders. But even with the boy's high grades and pleasant reputation, there were still a few blemishes on his records. Assault and attack, and a rumored relationship with an older woman in the past were one of the few that stood out to me.

He was a teenage boy after all. No one was perfect even with vultures they called their families were around breathing down their necks.

A smirk ran across my face as I held the paper in my hands. For the mean time I wasn't going to strike, but even if I wasn't that didn't mean I had no plans on doing so.

Matthew was a part of the band club. Along with his athletic hobbies, he also had a taste for music. He reminded me of the captain in a way, and for some unknown reason the thought of how alike they were irked me.

It was over break on Monday when I decided to go to the school library. I hadn't gone there in a while and I missed the smell of the books and just sitting there on the floor with one in hand.

The Literature section was my favorite. My hand grazed over the classics I had read before and suddenly memories of Delilah and I laughing at the titles and the names of the authors replayed in my head. I had to admit that I missed her but my pride didn't allow me to say it.

I picked up a copy of Persuasion and out of nowhere the sound of giggles rang in my ears. Annoyance growing, I plastered on my infamous HBIC face and prepared to bitch them off when a familiar blonde came into my sight.

There she was with him, an arm protectively locked around her by the stupid boy that made me want me to wrap my hand around his neck and. choke him every time he smiled. Her hair was in soft curls, her cheeks tinted with a light shade of pink and I thought of how pinchable they were because of how chubby, somehow reminding me of an adorable little bunny.

Realizing that I had wandered off with my thoughts, I shook my head and rolled my eyes before I exited the library, utterly disgusted by how sweet they were.

I'm so excited for "Lucifer" S4 oH mY GOd

P.S. I might not be able to publish a new chapter next week. I'll be going on vacation with my family for four days! I can't wait !! :))
