60 Why He's Here?

The travel between Infinity Jade Tower to Eastwood Subdivision took only a few minutes and both brothers were unusually quite. They were preoccupied with different thoughts running in their mind. John was thinking of his family while Mike was getting excited about meeting Caroline, the twin sister of the woman he falls in love with in the past. He was rehearsing in his mind what to tell Caroline if they finally come face to face, that would be a few minutes from now.

In Caroline's home.

Thelma and her family already finished eating dinner and were currently resting in the living room. Caroline was upstairs in her room feeding baby Cathy with her formula milk.

When the sound of the car stopped in front of the house, Thelma already knew that John and his brother had finally arrived.

She exited the main door and looked outside, she saw two cars parked in front of the house.

Two men got out of the vehicles, she spotted John and another guy must be his brother Mike.

Thelma opened the gate and prompted the visitors to come inside the gate. "Please come inside," she said.

John introduced Mike to his mother-in-law while they were sitting in the chairs in the veranda. "Mother Thelma, this is my brother, Mike," he said.

Mike extended his right hand for a handshake. "Nice, meeting you, Ma'am Thelma," he said in a courteous manner.

Thelma accepted his handshake. "Nice meeting you too, Mike," she replied. "Before I will go upstairs to inform Caroline that she had a visitor, I want to ask you something first. Are Catherine and the babies doing fine in your house? I hope they are not giving you and your mother any problem," she said.

"No. Not at all, Ma'am Thelma. My mother and I love having Catherine and my nephew and niece in our house. They bring sunshine to our boring life and our boring house," Mike's reply comes with a grin.

Thelma was satisfied with his answer. "Thank you for taking good care of my daughter and the babies. Also, extend my thanks to your mother for opening your home to my daughter. Please stop calling me, Ma'am. Just call me Auntie Thelma," she said.

"Okay, no problem, Auntie. We're glad to help and support my sister-in-law. Besides, Catherine and the babies are part of our family. Times like this, families should stick together, help each other...not fight each other," Mike said, preaching like a priest.

Thelma nods her head. She saw Mike's sincerity in his eyes trying to reconcile the sisters. "By all means, I'm going to get Caroline now," she stood up.

John also rose to his feet. "I'm also going now, Mother. It's for the best that Caroline and I won't see each other after what just happen in the pool area," he explained. He looked at his brother. "I will leave you here, bro!"

"Okay, thanks, bro!" Mike responded. "I'll call you later," he said.

"Bye John. Stay strong for my daughter and my grandchildren. Everything will be alright in the end," Thelma said to her son-in-law to cheer him up.

"Thanks, Mother. I will go now," John said. Before he exited the gate he went to the door of the house first and say goodbye to her wife's younger sibling. "Bye Lily...bye Jacob!" he said.

"Bye Uncle John!" the kids said in unison.

John exited the gate and went inside his car, he waves goodbye to his brother Mike and mother-in-law.

Thelma went inside the house, passing the living room and climbs the stairs slowly. She arrived at the top of the stairs and went to her daughter's room. She pushed the door open. "Daughter, you had a visitor," she said.

Caroline raised a brow. "Huh? Who is it?" Inside her mind, she was already guessing... it's probably John, Catherine or Grace?

"It's Mike," answered Thelma.

"Mike...who?" Caroline asked in confusion. For the life of her, she doesn't have any acquaintance whose name is Mike.

"It's John's brother, Mike. Catherine and the babies are currently staying in Mike's house together with his mother Susan. You already know about them, right?" Thelma supplied the rest of the info after she noticed that Caroline had a hard time remembering who is Mike.

Caroline finally understood. So, her diva-like sister was still staying in her mother-in-law's house?

"So, why is Mike here? What Can I do for him?" Caroline asked.

Thelma refused to answer her daughter's question. "Just go down and see him. If you don't like talking to him, then just say to his face politely. Watch your manner, okay? Don't be rude to him!" she reminded her.

Caroline thought that it is strange that it's Mike who comes here not John. But it's obvious that after the incident John would not see her ever again to avoid angering his wife. Since Catherine and Mike were now residing under one roof maybe he wants to talk to her on behalf of her sister. Maybe her Cruella de Vil's sister sends a message for her.

Well...she will lose nothing if she will just say hello to the visitor for a few minutes and then send him back to where he belongs.

"Okay, Mom. I will meet Mike as per your wishes. Don't worry I will treat him politely," Caroline said. "I will just change my clothes. Please watch baby Cathy for me," she said and went to the closet to pick up decent clothes. She chose a body fit yellow blouse and black skinny leggings and change her clothes inside the bathroom.

A few minutes later.

After combing her hair, Caroline exited the bathroom ready to go downstairs.

"I will take care of baby Cathy. Go ahead, face your visitor," Thelma ordered.

Caroline exited the bedroom and went downstairs heading towards the main door of the house.

She steps outside the door and looked to the right side where the veranda was located. There he was sitting on the chair facing her, his eyes glued to her face.

She finally saw his profile.

Not bad!

She ambled towards him and come face to face with her visitor. She was blown away. 'Wow, such a good decent looking guy!' she murmured to herself.
