80 Let's Meet!

He replied after ten minutes...

'Okay let's meet somewhere. If you are willing to see me I will give up the land, you can have it for yourself. Then I will tell you the important thing I needed to tell you.'

Caroline read the text message five times. Well, she got nothing to lose if she will meet him somewhere as long it's a public place.

She typed...' Okay, I will see you, when?'...then she sent the message.

A few moments later, he replied.

'Within this week... I will send you the address tomorrow. I'm too sleepy to type. Goodnight.'

She replied...'OK'.

Caroline placed the phone in the bedside table and closed her eyes to sleep.

Thirty minutes later, she has difficulty sleeping. Her thoughts keep coming back to Daniel. She needs to see him so that all her questions will finally have an answer. As for the land, well, it would be great if he will give up on buying it so that she could buy it.

Caroline finally succumbs to a deep slumber after the clock strikes at midnight.

...

The next day.

After eating breakfast and retiring into her bedroom, Caroline put the TV in nursery mode so that baby Cathy can hear baby music.

Thelma entered her daughter's room.

She began asking Caroline some questions regarding her trip to Mindanao.

"So, did you see the land that you are trying to buy? How was it?" she asked.

"Yeah. I saw the land, it was huge, and was dotted with trees and green plants. The beach is amazing! Unfortunately, other rich buyers were also interested to buy the land. So, I kind of give up buying it unless those rich buyers will no longer pursue the land," Caroline said gloomily.

"Ah, okay. Maybe that land is not meant for you. There are lots of properties for sale all over the country, you can still find another that will suit your taste," Thelma consoled her daughter.

"Nah, If I can't buy that land. I think I would not find another," Caroline said.

Thelma patted her daughter's shoulder.

"By the way, good news. Your sister Catherine already returned home. She and her husband finally reconciled," Thelma shared the news.

Caroline shrugged her shoulders not caring at all. "So what-? What's in it for me?" she remarked a little bit coldly.

Thelma doesn't like Caroline's attitude. "When are you going to talk to your sister?" she asked.

Caroline sighed...here we go again! Her mother will never drop this issue, it annoyed the hell out of her.

"To be honest, there's no need mother. I'm glad that my twin and her husband already reconciled but no need for us to see each other. We won't die if we won't be talking and seeing each other for many years. Just drop that topic, I don't want to talk about Catherine right now. If she expected that I will go running to her to ask for an apology for something that I didn't do...well...that would never happen. I think it's her that you should be asking to come over here to apologize to me for slapping, kicking and punching me. Not the other way around," she said in an irate voice.

Thelma keeps her temper in check. As much as she wanted to have her two daughters reconcile she can't force any of them to meet in the middle. It's not only Caroline that is stubborn but also Catherine. Sigh, the sisters are indeed twins with the same level of hardheadedness. It's best to keep her mouth shut for now.

"Mom, I'm going out of the house after lunch. I will go to the mall and buy something for myself," Caroline said.

"OK," Thelma mumbled. "What do you want to eat for lunch?"

Caroline pondered for a moment and enumerated her choice of dishes. "Hmm...I want to eat Ginisang Repolyo, Sweet and Sour Fish with Mushroom Soup. That's all," she finally said.

"Okay, I will prepare it for lunch," Thelma spoke. She turned around ready to go out of the room.

"Am...Mother. If you want to see or visit my sister, you are free to do so. You can bring Lily and Jacob with you anytime. The conflict that happened between me and my sister is between the two of us only, it has nothing to do with you and my younger siblings," Caroline said.

Thelma nodded her head and released a sigh of relief, she left the room quietly.

Caroline was left alone in the bedroom, she already made her decision to visit the address that was given to her by his unknown stalker. Since it was in another city, she won't be bringing her car with her because she doesn't want to encounter heavy traffic along the way. It would be convenient to just ride the MRT ( Metro Rail Transit) by the train, no traffic.

She grabbed her phone and typed a message to Daniel...' Are you my stalker? Are you the one who keeps sending me messages now and then?'... she sent the message. At some point, she suspected that Daniel and her phone stalker is of the same person.

After fifteen minutes of waiting, his reply finally arrived...and it says...' NO.'

Hmm, even though she had not received text messages lately from her stalker she was curious who is he? Despite ignoring his text messages in the past.

She didn't bother to text Daniel anymore after he replied that he was not the stalker.

...

Lunchtime.

Caroline and her family gathered in the dining room and they began eating their meals while Merle was holding baby Cathy in her arms watching TV in the living room.

Caroline loves the creamy and savory mushroom soup, yay! her mother has finally perfected the recipe.

With her stomach already full, Caroline left the dining area and went back to her room upstairs.

After entering her room she took the robe and went inside the bathroom to take a quick shower.

A moment later she emerges from the bathroom. She went to her closet and donned the long sleeve burgundy polo shirt and blue jeans, then she chose sneakers for her footwear. She put her cellphone and wallet inside her yellow-beige color shoulder bag and tied her hair in a ponytail. She looked at herself one last time in the mirror and put her Polaroid pink aviator sunglasses on her eyes.

She's ready to go.

She went downstairs and told her mother she will be back before sunset.

She exited the gate and walked for a few minutes towards the gate of the subdivision. She was thankful that the pathways were dotted with trees which provides good shade from the harmful rays of the sun. Sigh, she forgot to bring her umbrella again.

Outside the gate, there's plenty of taxi cab waiting idly for passengers.

She entered the first cab and instructed the driver to bring her to the nearest MRT station.

Thirty minutes later the driver dropped her in the MRT station. She boarded the train going to Quezon City.
