Species: Katakirauwa

Meaning "one ear pig" in Japanese.

AKA. Soul Snatcher

A dangerous yokai with a deceptive appearance, which resembles that of a piglet. Is capable of thieving a person's soul by running through their legs.

Katakirauwa have thick skin, as black as the night, with accents of teal around its chest, ear and top of the head.

With an aqua iris and yellow sclera, this pig's eyes really stand out. It is said that their eyes act as a looking glass, a window to the prison of souls the creature has held captive throughout its lifetime. If you find yourself staring into its eyes, you may realise that you can hear distant screaming or cries that slowly become louder the longer you watch.

It is also common for its eye to have a deep scar across or around it.

The snout of the creature is turquoise with yellow highlights around the rims of it.

[WARNING] Don't touch its nose - it is seen as a threatening gesture and katakirauwa are bound to retaliate. Just out from either side of its snout are two baby tusks, which are unlikely to cause much harm if the pig were to directly charge at a victim with impact.

With the creature only having one ear, the other is replaced by a relatively small horn that only slightly curls back on itself near the tip.

It has a curly black tail with a soul flame on the end. Will sometimes be the cause of unintentional fires in places.

In addition to their abnormal characteristics, katakirauwa can be further distinguished from pigs by their lack of a shadow.

They usually like to travel in groups around cities and their movement is around the speed of a rabbit's, though their size doesn't make that surprising. Floating around, they playfully hop or wildly charge at people.

You can avoid your soul being taken if you cross your legs, not allowing them to pass through. However, they are persistent and will find any means to distract you - such as ramming into you until you loose balance or using an ability.
