4 A Place in This World
In the kitchen.
Maids were rushing back and forth as they filled the buffet with different cuisine, most of the guest were from a different country, therefore, Daniella has decided to serve the food that will pass on their liking.
In the midst of the chaotic kitchen, Danny was standing by the kitchen counter, chatting with his uncle Danny, every time they see each other, they always made fun of their names.
His uncle will call him uncle while he will just call him Danny, it was fun until the triplets pop and make fun of them.
Danny Hei, he just celebrated his 21st birthday. He was the oldest son of Daniella, and he has four siblings in his mother side while he has one brother on his father side.
His life was a mess, he might not have all of his parents attention but, all of his siblings love him to the point that he needs to hides in order to escape from them.
The triplets have always wanted him to be around and ride with their pranks against Louisa which he can't do as he loves Louisa more than anyone and each of his siblings knows that.
There was a time where all of his siblings were gathered in one place, and the word chaos was not enough to describe the mess his siblings had made.
In result, he got scolded by his parents, saying that being the oldest, he should have looked after them but it was hard especially with the triplets and his brother fighting.
He was thankful that Louisa didn't make a fuss, she was just in her room, watching a gruesome movie.
Since then, he never let the triplets and her brother to be in one room, and since then, if he wants to speak to them, he will need to talk to them separately or while his mother was around.
For him, it's still a mystery that the triplets were acting like angels when Daniella is around.
"So, uncle how's law school? I heard Daniella has been selling to you to your classmate," his uncle Danny asked.
And just like before, his uncle was the same. He has never changed. He's a fun uncle and a genius too though when it comes to his sister, he's still overprotective.
His uncle often says that his sister should have chosen his father, Glen Hei, compare to Evan. It's not that the idea had never crossed his mind but, he had seen how much love Evan has for his wife and that was the reason why he never got jealous.
"Yeah, most of my classmate's parents wanted them to focus on their studies but mommy is different. She wants me to starts dating but I don't know," he reluctantly said, he has been closed to his uncle Danny than anyone, all of his problems, either school or crushes, he always asked for his advise.
"Well," his uncle Danny took a sighed and patted his shoulder twice.
"You are young, be like Selena, new week new boyfriend. Tsk, that kid, she's acting like Daniella," Danny repeatedly clicked his tongue in disappointment.
Danny smiled on his Uncle and excused himself after seeing his sister Louisa.
As he walked closer to her, a big smile was on his lips.
"Isa, you look lovely," he gave her a hug and patted her back.
The young woman showed him the pad she has in her hand with words written, "You look handsome too,"
Danny pinches her small nose as he chuckled, "Are you hungry?" he asked.
Louisa shook her head and wrote down, "Can you help me buy a car?" his eyebrow creased in confusion as he read those words.
"I don't think mommy will allow you to drive," he replied.
And once again, Louisa started writing down the words, "it's for the triplets."
Danny was shocked to read those words, but at the same time proud that Louisa will do this for her siblings.
"if that's the case then tomorrow, you and I will drive to all the car salon to buy you a second-hand car, how much money have you saved up?" he asked.
Louisa placed her pad and paper on the table and took her phone out of her purse. She had never checked her bank to avoid the tempt of using the money to buy herself the CD of the newly released curse of Chucky.
She was excited to see how much money she had saved, but as soon as she entered the pin code for her online banking, the excitement she has had faded.
She felt as if her world has crumbled, the dollar sign in her eyes disappeared.
Tears formed in her eyes as soon as she saw her bank statements, it clearly showed where the money had gone, and it was for her sister's dress.
Danny could see the frustration and anguish in Louisa's face when he saw the balance in her account, he could not help but pity her.
He wanted to comfort her but the girl suddenly ran away, and he knows that he can't follow her, not because he doesn't want too but Louisa is different, she doesn't want to speak to anyone especially when she's frustrated.
As he watched his sister ran upstairs, probably back in her room, Danny scrolled on her phone history and found a lot of research about cars.
He sighed and took his phone out, he dialed his father's numbers to ask for help.
When the man answered the phone, Danny speaks up, "Daddy, the car you and mommy gave as my graduation gift, can you please change it under Louisa's name?" he asked.
There was a moment of silence before he heard his father sigh.
"Fine, I will have someone to fix it," and with that, Danny decided to follow Louisa to share the news.
When he entered her room, a horror movie was playing on the television but Louisa was nowhere to be found.
He sighed and walked towards her closet. When he opened the door, he found his sister sitting inside, hugging both of her legs while tears streamed down on her cheeks.
He squatted on the floor and ran his finger through her hair.
"Isa, I have an unused car at my father's house. I can give it to you and in exchange for the ahm..." Danny looked around to check on what he can get as an exchange, knowing Louisa, she doesn't want to accept anything for free unless it was from her father.
When he finally saw something he could use as a payment, he turned to his sister and smiled.
"You can maybe get rid of that Skeleton, that thing always gives me a heart attack," he awkwardly chuckled.
The girl momentarily stared on his eyes and then looked down, seconds later, the girl sniffed and when she looked at him, a genuine smile was on her lips.
Danny helped her to stand up and accompanied her to sit on the couch, he wiped the tears on her cheeks and helped her fix her hair.
As they walked out of the room, they noticed that the triplets have already shown themselves to the crowd, but they were both shocked to see that the triplets clothes were covered with dirt while the whole place had become a mess with all the smoke around.
Out of nowhere, Daniella's voice filled the room.
"Everyone please calm down. The explosion came from the basement, it's nothing serious but we will need to cancel the party. So, everyone please proceed to the exit, the drivers are waiting outside, and we apologize for the inconvenience. Leo, Ethan, and Alexandria would you all please check the basement. NOW!" as their mother said the last word, they know that she was holding herself from screaming.
Both Louisa and Danny were startled by their mother's voice. They stared at each other with their eyes swelled in fear, they know that their mother barely uttered the word 'basement' but when it does, it always has one end, and it was never good.
To their surprise, the triplets even tried to find a way out of the situation.
"Mom, the guards are on their way to the basement now. We don't-" Ethan has been cut out when her mother looked at him with narrowed eyes.
"They are all busy so please take your sibling to the basement and wait for me," their mother spoke in a calm and soft voice.
But Danny knows that deep inside, his mother must have been erupting.
And at that moment, the triplets face went pale as they all walked towards the basement.
