45 Visiting a granddaughter

In the taxi, Xia Yu looked outside. He saw the eliminated buildings in a flash as the car was moving. He was lost in thoughts when the car stopped. He paid the driver and stayed in the rain, contemplating the hospital. He took a deep breath and entered the giant hospital.

The people in this building were walking fast and the doctors were shouting orders everywhere. Xia Yu sighed and went to the reception where was working a middle aged lady who seemes tired.

"Is there a Su Anna here?"

The receptionist looked through her files and nodded. She pointed the elevator. "Fifth floor. Third room at your left."

Xia Yi smiled. "Thanks..."

Xia Yu entered the elevator with a couple that seemed terrified. The woman's hand were shaking and it seemed like she would explose of water since her eyes were full of tears.

When it stopped to the fifth floor, Xia Yu stepped out and smiled to the couple before disappearing in the large hall. He glanced at the luxurious room and quickly found the third one.

The door was wide open and revealed a pretty young woman. She was alone but didn't seem sad. The young woman had her hand on her belly as if she wanted to protect a treasure. Her green eyes were staring at the window, waiting for someone to arrive.

Xia Yu stared at her in silent, unknowing how to greet her. With all his courage, he stepped in the room and wave his hand.

Anna wasn't moved by his actions. Tang Jin had described Xia Yu as a tall old man with a cane and bushy eyebrows that almost cover all his eyes. He said that his hair were often messy and that he had a little moustache.

Anna smiled to the old man. "Thank you for visiting me, Elder Xia."

Xia Yu's heart ached. "No need for formalities. I am still your grandfather Ann..."

He was cut by Anna's laugh. "I don't we are close enough to call each other by our names, Mr Xia. After all, it's the first time we meet."

This sentence was like a knife stabbing in his heart. Yet, he acted like nothing happened. "You are definitely different from your mother. You don't let anyone bully you, that is great."

Anna smirked. "Of course. My mother and I have more in common than our look. We both suffered and our dad did nothing to help us or change that."

Xia Yu couldn't deny that fact even if he wanted to. Anna's childhood was the same as her mother's for the only exception she never been loved by a boy at a young age. Anna was alone in her own loneliness.

Xia Yu coughed. "I loved Meixi with all my heart and I wanted the best for my daughter. I wanted the best for my daughter..."

Anna look at him with disgust, the same look that she has for Su Yifan. "Remark how you say daughter in singular, Elder Xia. You wanted and still want the best for only one your daughter."

Xia Yu was destabilized. He shook his head as a disagreement to the truth. "No... I never wantes that. That's not why I am here, I want you to take your distance from Chen Jun."

Anna raised an eyebrow but her face didn't show any surprise. "If it's to tell me that your granddaughter is in love with my husband, then I already know it."

"How could you know? You've never met her."

Anna smirked. "It's called discretion, Elder Xia. Your beloved granddaughter was here about what? Two hours ago and run straight into rain, cursing me."

"You saw that?"

"Well, it's kinda of my business, Elder Xia. She is cursing me and possibly will kill my child and snatched away my love. Correct me if I'm wrong, her mother did the same."

"I cannot say that you are wrong. But you actually went outside to see what she was doing?"

"Don't get me wrong here. She's not the victim here, I am. I know to defend myself but I swear that if she ever touch my baby or my husband, I'll make sure she turn into ashes."
