"Anne?.. you mean the oldest daughter of lord agustin?" rose questioned in surprise.

Suzue stared at her as if she's stupid.

"of course. do you know anyone named anne that can freely eat breakfast with agustin family?"

suzue remembered the words that came out on noah's mouth and silently agreed.

"you're really stupid"

"i'm sorry about my sister. stop it ezu, i already told you to play nice didn't i?"

suzue rubs her nape and hums to reassure her that she won't insult the woman anymore.

It was really pity that the woman she thought sensible would be this kind of white lotus woman. suzue might not saw her attempt to flirt with noah but she can sense her intention to seduced the boy using her words.

And she hates it when someone dared to used her people.

"anyway, as i was saying. i have a hunch that the one behind the lost of the merfolk is her. the oldest of daughter of lord agustin."

"How?" lilith asked the albino beside her.

"Well when i was having breakfast with them, she's giving me a stinky eyes which really irritates me"

"That's you reason?" rose asked and lilith deadpanned at her sister.

she clearly don't remember the latter to be this petty.

"No not really. if it's the reason then everyone's a suspect considering they are very envious in my beauty and strength"

everyone stared at her in silence. everyone of them has their own thoughts at the praise she just told for herself.

noah nod in agreement and looked at the albino in admiration. Rose has her jaw hanging and she stared at the woman in disbelief, her sister looked so done and the kid clicked his tongue and didn't bother to associate himself towards the woman he sees as a sister.

"Don't be too shameless just tell us" rose decided to tell her off causing the woman to snicker at her.

"fine, chill for a bit milady you just woke up"

suzue finally decided to stop and took a deep breath. she didn't know what got their panties in a twist. she was just teasing them to loosen the stressful atmosphere, nothing else.

"Fine fine, whatever. when i was having breakfast with anne agustin was giving me a stinky eye. i can sense her resentment but it wasn't towards me but towards my appearance"

"Then you mean to you?" rose asked causing suzue to take a deep breath.

"No as i said her resentment is not targeting me but my appearance"

"you know what... forget i' changing my praise. her resentment is towards a person who has above average beauty. to a face that can trample a city. the mermaids are known to their beautiful appearances so it is expected that she might be the one behind their disappearance"

they went silent and thought for a moment.

"Is this not about you being judgmental ?" lilith asked in suspicion and eyed her sister who's staring at her in disbelief

"Of course not. i am a changing person i won't judge someone that easily. and this rose woman told us that the one who told her about the rumor is a she, a her. and the rumor is emphasizing one point, The lord mansion.

if you think about it deeply you would notice a certain mistake in the rumor. Normally when someone spread a rumor they would nly stick towards the person or the subject of the rumor. but the rumor clearly said 'henry's father, the lord'.

It's easier to say the lord of nero than seeing one particular person that might be just a bystander. and why him? not jean? or vincent?. why did she said henry's father when she could just simply say it directly?"

this isn't the longest time suzue spoke but she still feel amaze on how many words can get out from her mouth.

"appearance is everything" they all stared at rose when she suddenly spoke after falling on her thoughts.

"The others are impossible. The oldest son doesn't even care about his appearance because of many works he has to do. the second oldest might be the culprit but it's unlikely. his attitude is cunning and calculative. he might looks gentle but if one could observe deeply. it's just a facade. a person like that won't make a small mistake.

The youngest daughter is boyish. she wouldn't waste her time in capturing the merfolk if her marriage is about to be settled. the youngest son isn't into beauties to him cuteness is everything.

Henry is the least person to suspect he's much more of a dog waiting for its owner to notice him. he wouldn't waste his time capturing the merfolk, instead he would choose to follow his owner"

suzue saw how rose fell into guilt after hearing her thoughts about henry.

"This... this easy?, you have gone to deep in this mystery too much?" lilith stare at her sister in astonishment causing the latter to smile at her.

"Well.. when i first heard about the mermaids from miss rose i immediately thought to help her find them because i know you would do the same. so i want to make it more easier for you. then henry challenge me in a duel for this woman's hand.

His declaration of duel gave me a safe way towards the mansion. it made the sneaking way easier. but a pity they weren't there. so i joined them in their breakfast and took henry's compensation instead. completely givig up the idea of finding the merfolk. i mean it would wy my time rght?
