Chapter 29: in the shoes of a commoner

halfway towards the gates, the carriage suddenly stop causing me to halt as well, i glance at the coachman who glance at me too with a confuse expression.

i hop down the horse and handed the reins towards the coachman and walks towards my sister who's attempting to open the carriage door.

i wonder what she's up to? we are almost there and i really want to sleep now.

i silently opened the carriage door and help her hop down the carriage.

"what's wrong lilith?" she glance at me and then stared at the tall wall,

"there's not much noble here right?" i nod

Land of gi isn't a well known land filled with nobles but a land with many commoners instead, commoners who works day and night and tons of hunters resides in this place as well.

The land of Gi is huge with huge forest surrounding it and so whenever night came the town is the only place that has lights, that's why we immediately encounter bandits.

i stared at the sky and notice that the clouds are starting to cover the sun... it's going to rain,

"Lilith go inside the carriage, we need to go to the house father prepared for us, the rain will going to pour a few hours from now" before i could gently escort her back inside the carriage she stop me causing my eyebrow to raise in confusion.

"i want to dress as a commoner"

"... why?" she stared at me silently and went back inside the carriage

"prepare my clothes and tell father about my plan"

even though i'm confuse at how she was acting i just silently agreed

going back to my house we once again started our journey towards the Land of Gi.

my sister insisting to become a commoner was beyond my expectation, i know she 's very eager to help me in my job to as a temporary heir in the duke household and her doing this actually makes me feel touch.

though i might be just assuming, she probably just want to feel the feeling of becoming a commoner.

when we pass the gates we were once again greeted by a road surrounded with trees but this time the trees were much greener and seems like they were greeting us with a dance i yawn tiredly and halted.

"knight lieutenant Edgar" a an in a heavy armor walks towards me and kneels.

"My lord" ah i miss that, very students and teaches in the school addresses me as young miss or my lady, i obviously prefer the address 'my lord' and they won't call me that.

"protect the lady while i'm buying clothes the lady wishes"

"yes" he bows nice again and went back on shadowing us, i wonder how they easily pass the borders.

well they are father's knights i think it isn't that surprising, they might just be good at concealing their presence or just good at finding loopholes.

i turn my head to stare at the gate and saw the other knight entering, i deadpan and sigh silently

or they just entered normally.

anyway.

"yahh!" i exclaimed causing my horse to gallop.

i close my eyes and silently appreciate the breeze that rapidly moving with our speed. i once again opened my eyes and squeezes my calves and my horse increase his speed.

it didn't take an hour for me to be able to see the town i slowed down my horse and stared at the people staring at me in confusion and admiration when i reach the entrance of the town i halted the horse and hop down.

my eyes silently narrowed and went back to my usual expression as i silently observe the people.

they were acting calmly, too calm, i silently frown and yawn tiredly and went to buy clothes.

"young man are you searching clothes for your girlfriend?" my mind went blank for a minute but i immediately composes my self and smiled lazily.

"yes.. yes they are for my girlfriend, can i have that why and black dress please?"

i forgot that i'm actually wearing a men's clothes, i didn't wear my uniform because i think it's necessary.

she probably mistook me as a boy because of my clothes and my hair, my hair is tied into a pony tail.

i'm wearing a sleeveless tank top covered with a sleeveless blouse with collar that has a gold cross paired with black sleeveless vest with gold linings in the ends.

Black combat pants and a sleeveless Black cloak, the cloak hides my chest and slender figure and my face has a very big resemblance to my father when it's tied up so i couldn't blame her.

, i adjusted my sword belt and calmly stared at the woman who's currently packing the dress gently.

the dress is A white blouse with long sleeves with a black ribbon on its collar, a black skirt that reaches the knees.

"and can i have that as well" i pointed at a black mid leg boots.

"of course, you must really love your girlfriend huh" i just smiled silently and watches her pack the boots as well

"how much?"

"the dress is 10 gold and the boots costs 5 gold" so cheap. i handed her 20 gold causing her to widen her eyes.

"this is too much" i ignore her and grab the packages and walk towards an inn.

but on my way towards the inn a young boy with a huge smile 'accidentally' bump me,

"ouch! " he fell on his butt and a big fat crocodile tears immediately fell down in his eyes

i stared at him with blank tired eyes and help him stand up.

"you bump at me!! what if i injured myself how can i help my family now?! "

i yawn and wipe his tears while he's holding tightly on my pants.

"how can i pay you?" i ask causing him to stop crying.

"do you need an inn? choose ours instead! we have the best inn !"

well i never thought scammers also exist in this place.

anyway it doesn't hurt to go to their inn right? my sister probably wouldn't mind.
