In the current world mindless monsters known as Frankenstein roam rampent. For the longest time they have each engaged in a hard-fought war against the espers whom fight to protect humanity....

Thursday 1400 hours, Osaka, Japan

So your name is Tengen Yuuichi, you're nineteen (19) years old, finished highschool, skipped college and did a basic six (6) month course of esper training... correct? Look kid, if you're up to it no problem, just sign the papers and pay a fee of twenty thousand yen. But I'll tell you this, it's a war you're partaking in. Yuuichi, confident in his decision, payed the fee and filled in the application. Afterward he was given a kinesis module, a device that, once attached to the base of the spine, awakens the kinetic abilities of an individual. Thus to lose a kinesis module is to lose all access to kinetic abilities. Yuuichi, in a state of blissfulness, wore a wide smile on his face. He experienced by far the best moments of his life. Now finally an esper he had received an identification card, stating his name, age and variation of kinetic ability. The type of kinetic abilities available are unique to every single person and can vary from hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, psychokinesis, aerokinesis and electrokinesis. Yuuichi is a hydrokinetic, able to manipulate the water only originating from his body. This he learned during his course on esper basics. A different module will not awaken a different kinetic ability on the same person, however the same module can potentially awaken different kinetic abilities on different users, depending on several key factors. During his course Yuuichi learned how to work with his aquatic abilities and learned the effects of the module as well. In actuality it psychologically amplified the brain to a point in which the brain waves interact with the surrounding matter, allowing the matter to reshape in response to thought. A cutting edge technology to battle the Frankenstein. As Yuuichi walked happily down the sidewalk a behemoth of a beast crashed in the center of the road like an asteroid, a Frankenstein. It had a humanoid figure, an abundance of muscle and skin ocean's green. But more intimidating of all its face, which closely resembled that of a frog. Its yellow eyes were large, wide and voided with very small rounded pupils. It unleashed a tempestuous roar and nearby citizens fled in terror as a response. An opportunity had appeared for Yuuichi rather than an enemy, he believed. In response to the Frankenstein's sudden appearance he placed the palm of his right hand atop the palm of his left and toiled with great strain his hands further apart, so much so his veins exposed themselves. He pulled from his skin all of his sweat and from his body the water in his blood and forged a blade of water. The kinesis module on his spine whirred a sound of sorts before he dashed toward the beast with the speed exceeding that of a bullet, rupturing the air in a thunderous crack and swiftly cleaved its torso. The Frankenstein however, was unfazed by the attack that left only, although a deep cut, a minor inconvenience for the monster whom quickly regenerated and slammed Yuuichi through a building. Immediately Yuuichi felt the pain of torn muscles in the left leg and three broken ribs. That beast was likely vastly beyond him in power. A painful cough followed in threes prior to puking blood. It was likely to assume he had sustained internal bleeding also. The Frankenstein launched itself into the air before hastily descending onto Yuuichi. Ignoring the pain, Yuuichi swung his blade, this time with both hands and every last drop of his might, cleanly cleaving off half of the beast his head. The attack however, seemed almost useless when confronted by the Frankenstein's monstrous regeneration. A mighty blow that conjured a vast wind struck Yuuichi in the face with an impactful force that shook the ground. This attack launched Yuuichi onto the floor with such tenacity that he bounced back upward to sustain another attack, chained to the last. At last the Frankenstein dug into Yuuichi's stomach with a firm grip and threw him through three more buildings before he violently landed on the roof of a fourth. At this point in the battle there wasn't a singular hole Yuuichi didn't bleed from. But to mind the pain was to die in agony so he ignored and engaged. He elongated his sword whilst he made the blade thinner and as the Frankenstein approached from his leap toward the roof, perfectly sliced the monster in half with a vertical strike. But knowing it would quickly regenerate he chained his attack to many more strikes, horizontally, vertically and diagonally. The monster thus flew into the building in several large chunks not having lost any of the momentum from his leap. Some of his parts came crashing on the lower floors others on the rooftop. Despite the flawless execution the chunks of flesh were drawn to one another like magnets and broke through walls and ceilings to meet at the roof, building the complete Frankenstein in a moment's notice whom in return choose to smite Yuuichi hellward through all the floors of the building. A savage landing that sprained what had yet to be broken followed in response. Blood dripped in an abundance. So this is it, THIS IS WAR! This is the pain the field of battle bestows upon its best. Yuuichi needed to strategize a new tactic to emerge victorious, that much he was certain of. He would not keep cleaving like a fool at an undying target. Perhaps he needed a more forceful swing, more so than any other. So he swung his blade as the monster descended upon him in response to his initial suggestion. A diagonal strike, from a lower point just a whisker away from the horizon line left of him to a higher point to his right with such force it cleaved through a nearby building, causing it to slide downward and collide with the roads, cars and ground below. It shook, although but a small portion of the city, a wide web of land. All there was since than was silence that swallowed like the cloud of dust conjured by the fallen half of the building after the thundering crash it made as it fell. His ears bled. His breath escaped and his muscles ached. Was it over? It wasn't present any longer and than suddenly it was. It emerged from underneath the rubble just inches behind him. That absolute mountain of a monster swung with, arguably more force than any of its previous punches directly into the liver, thoroughly folding Yuuichi in half before rocketing the poor soul through several more walls. The amount of walls he was thrown through has drastically increased a somewhat twentyfold within the hour. Now suffering from all previous injuries with an added spinal fracture Yuuichi dug himself up from under many stone and concrete fragments. He had scarcely enough energy for just one final attack. It was to kill or to be killed. He absorbed his sword back into his body and boiled it with his increased bodily temperatures. The Frankenstein charged at him like a wrathful bull and Yuuichi stood steadfast awaiting his attacker. The following was the endgame to the vicious battle. His right palm atop his left once again. Once more with great strain he pulled with every last joule of kinetic energy his body could produce a thinner sword than before, forged from boiling water and dashed forward at mach four speeds creating numerous sonic booms as he preformed once again...the perfect cleave, separating the monster in two halves and burned the edges of both halves bypassing the Frankenstein's reconstructive capabilities. Or so he had hoped to believe. In contrast all that his attack amounted to was but a permanent scar on the monster's body. His mind and body had both reached a state far beyond their physical limits and thus as a result of which he collapsed in seconds whilst the monster behind him slowly approached. The Frankenstein let out a spine-shuddering scream in anger before it suddenly vanished from the scene so fast it summoned a hurricane that tilted over many cars. The residential area was thrown in a complete state of chaos with many injured or killed. Ambulances raced alongside police cars and firetrucks to aid in pacifying the crowd. Other espers hastily jumped to the site as well, aiding the officers in their works. During this ongoing frenzied man-storm of chaos Yuuichi's frail, broken and bloodied body laid displayed on a concrete floor. When closely expected, the Frankenstein was indeed tackled by another esper. Yagami Uzui, the most powerful esper in the world.

Monday 0900 hours, Osaka

In the past week a violent throwdown in downtown Osaka between an unidentified esper and the monstrous Frankenstein donned Keibetsu through countless social media posts across the internet has caused severe damages to public property and endangered the lives of many citizens. At the time, this video was caught with a bird's eye view from within a helicopter in which the esper was seen slicing through an entire building. Fortysix people have died as a result and fifty more were hospitalized. Authorities claimed the Frankenstein was neutralized by Yagami Uzui, currently known worldwide as the most powerful esper. In an exclusive interview the chief of police, Kazui Nagata, explained that the monster was killed in a vat of highly corrosive acid to act as a counterforce to the monster's regeneration. Regardless, many citizens are angered and are willing to press charges for the recent 'attack' as they called it. The prime minister also has a say in the matter. Casualties are a common occurrence in war. When two opposing forces such as those collide in a densely populated area it is only to expect. We cannot choose what the Frankenstein destroy, reports the prime minister. In contrast to the prime minister's speech, mister Nagata disliked the method of action taken by the minister as well as the espers. It's clear their first priority is to kill those things, not save people and that's wrong. The television was turned off and a hysterical laughter filled the air. Look at you already making the news kid, shouted Uzui with Yuuichi present in the room. Yuuichi was distressed, convinced his card, kinesis module and title as esper would have been revoked. Uzui, with a smile glued to his face, kept joking about how famous Yuuichi had gotten in such a short amount of time. I'm happy with this year's students, he claimed. They are eccentric! Confused on the matter, Yuuichi questioned if he isn't in any sort of trouble as consequence to his actions. However Uzui explained that he doesn't care what people think only that Yuuichi has in fact minimalized casualties and collateral. Without an esper there to stop Keibetsu it would have kept destroying and killing until one came to do so. Yuuichi reluctantly looked at the blackened TV screen. I suppose you're right; he whispered underneath his breath. So I see you've healed up most of your wounds pretty nicely. A comment made by Uzui to change the topic of dread. Uh..yes, responsed Yuuichi. A secondary effect of the kinesis module. The F-31 model is truly amazing. Uzui stared out the window in silence. In that moment Yuuichi was lost in a thought. The thought that the man in front of him stood at the summit of the world. Easily neutralizing a B - grade Frankenstein in a single attack. Hey!! : shouted Uzui out of the blue. Say kid, do you wanna go to Tokyo? Yuuichi in a moment of silence glared at Uzui. To... Tokyo?

Tuesday 1200 hours, Tokyo

In Tokyo the esper foundation had an academy build for the purpose of esper preparation for combat. This is where Yuuichi was headed toward. On his way there in a raven black car alongside Uzui, the man that rescued him from an incoming death at the hands of a monstrous Frankenstein, he thought of the many ways things could go. The many students he could meet, as well as teachers and more. Arriving at the front gate, the pair were greeted by the headmaster and overseer of the institution, Tsukogawa Ichibe. Ichibe!; cried out Uzui teasingly as he went in for a hug. Ichibe however, refused to react upon Uzui's playfulness. What, you're not gonna hug me back? You know I missed you, right? Ichibe's seriousness remained untouched. You're embarrassing me Uzui. Uzui let out a hastened frown before he stared Ichibe in the eye and pointed directly at Yuuichi. Ichibe, I'd like to introduce the newest student of the esper's foundation academic institution... Tengen Yuuichi!!
