* bam* Auric fell on the floor as he was pushed by a kid

"Who do you think you are?" the kid yelled. "How can you say no to Ari !?"

There was a sound of slapping, and Auric touched his cheek and looked at the kid with fierce eyes, and the kid even though scared tried to put a brave front.

"Roby, the teacher is coming!" someone else shouted to the kid.

Everyone quickly got seated as the teacher, Roma, entered the room. "Why is there so much noise? You are all children of nobles, so behave as you should. have some basic etiquette!" she scolded. "And Auric, why are you on the ground? Get up and take your seat, or you will be punished!"

Auric sat down as the other kids laughed at him. "Auric, why is it always you who is undisciplined? I should inform your parents!" Roma said sternly.

"But, ma'am, he has no mother!" a kid jeered, and the whole class erupted in laughter, except for Roma.

"Silence !" she snapped. "Auric, I do not want to see you being undisciplined again. This is your warning."

Finally, the class started, and Roma began teaching Advanced Gaian, the language commonly used by humans. Auric sat at his desk, wondering how he had gotten there and what had gone wrong.

Little did he know that the answer lay two years in the past...

Auric, now six years old, had been left alone for two months since Lumina's departure.

It was his first day of school and he had been admitted to class A while Luna had turned seven and was in class B. She had always praised the school and the way everyone treated her. Auric was happy that things might become normal for him too.

The School of Lemuria was the only noble school in their region, and the new school year had started.

Auric was having breakfast with Elysia and Luna, but it seemed that he was not very fond of Elysia. Although she would start a friendly conversation, Auric would always give short answers, which made Elysia quite sad.

It was all because one day, Auric overheard Elysia and Avalon talking in the communication room. Avalon had told her not to interfere in his current situation, even if the kids bullied him, and how it wsia had agrould forge him unparalleled in this cruel world. Elysia agreed to him without any rebuke, and from that day on, Auric lost all his faith in Elysia and was disappointed in her. His mother had giver her the responsibility to raise him but she couldn't do it right.

So Auric just decided that the only people who mattered to him now were Luna and Lumina.

And Auric was getting closer to lifting his curse, and it was only a matter of a few years so all that doesn't matter anymore and he would be able to protect himself.

Because when he was with Lumina, he always got quests on the knowledge aspect and gained SP and EXP. His status screen looked like this:

He had already unlocked inventory when he reached level 15, but he didn't have anything to store, so he left it be.

On his first day of school, Auric's parents didn't come with him, and he was disgusted by their behavior and negligence toward him.

The head butler took both Luna and Auric to school in a luxurious car.

And yes, cars do exist in this world, although vintage and only available to the rich cause they are super expensive. Even the Everlight family doesn't have the latest model of the royal s2 series.

They bid him farewell reaching school. Luna took him to class A. There were already little children in the room and when the other kids noticed Auric's black hair, they were fascinated, and some were scared as it was their first time seeing black hair, which was not common. Together with his baby face, he looked quite cute.

The kids surrounded him and asked him questions about who he was and his magic element.

When he said that he was from the Everlight family and had a dark element but couldn't use magic, they all had a weird expression and started treating him differently. Then, the teacher arrived and started introducing each student and herself.

Days passed, and the behavior of the other students turned from weird to hostile.

They started bullying Auric in small ways like hiding his notebooks and pushing his chairs. Since he had his memories, he thought they were just trying to behave like kids and prank him. But as time passed, the small pranks turned into head-on bullying.

Due to his curse, he was weak, and as his health was bad, he could not play with the other kids, which isolated him from everyone. Even the teachers turned a blind eye to him.

The minor bullying eventually escalated to physical abuse as he could not defend himself, and he became an easy target for the other children's frustrations.

Occasionally, Luna would come and save him, and she would also complain to the teachers and her mother, but nothing changed.

Auric guessed that the reason for the teachers not interfering must be because of his father. As a marquises his father had enough authority to order the teachers, and he must have told them not to interfere. That bitch!

The bullying continued, and today, a girl named Ari proposed to make Auric her servant and boy toy because of his good looks. Ari was popular among the boys and admired by them. She was a relative of a baron.

As Auric saw them all as little kids, and obviously he wouldn't become someone's servant so he declined the offer. An admirer of Ari named Roby pushed and tried to beat Auric to be in Ari's good books.

Years passed with no change in Auric, while his classmates started to learn spells and combat skills. He couldn't do anything, and he was frustrated with being constantly insulted. But his adventures in school led him to receive quests.

The Marquis family didn't react to anything happening to Auric, so the bullies became bolder and even insulted his lineage. However, when they insulted his mother or Luna, he would become enraged.

When Auric turned 9, Avalon returned from battle and had a disgusted face when he saw Auric. Avalon had always been disgusted with Auric because even other nobles would indirectly insult him during meetings, but Avalon couldn't even rebuke them because of his pride.

One day, Avalon came to know about how Luna would always be protective of Auric and neglect her studies and training because of him. This frustrated Avalon even more because Luna was the inheritor of the family, and without her training, she would be lacking.

So Avalon had finally thought to get rid of Auric for good, oblivious to Auric. And a chance had finally arrived.

One day, when Auric got back home beaten black and blue, he received a letter from Lumina.

They had been exchanging letters regularly, and Lumina would sometimes ask him about school, but he never told her about the wrong things happening to him as he didn't want to worry her. He would always say that he was happy with school and that everyone treated him well.

He started reading the letter...

Dear Auric,

I hope this letter finds you well. The town has been bustling with excitement lately as we prepare for our town festival, which is only held once every six years. As I sit here thinking about the festivities that will be taking place, I can't help but feel a sense of longing for you to be here to experience it with us.

It has been far too long since we last saw each other, and I miss you dearly. I am happy to hear that you are doing well and finding happiness in school.

As the festival approaches, I can't help but feel a bit sad that you won't be here to enjoy it with us. That's why I am extending an invitation for you to come and visit us during this special time. I know it's a long way to travel, but I promise that it will be worth it.

The festival will be filled with wondrous sights, sounds, and flavors that you won't find anywhere else in the world. From the colorful parades to the enchanted fireworks displays, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

I am eager to catch up with you and hear about all the exciting things you have been up to since we last saw each other. Your presence would make the festival even more magical, and it would mean the world to me if you could make it.

Please let me know if you can make it, and we can make arrangements for your stay. I am looking forward to seeing you soon.

Warmly,

Your Aunt Lu.
