Preperations

"GO GO GO!"

A commander yells shouts as a squad of men and women rush out into a hoard of mutants and undead "BRRRRT" gunfire could be heard from every corner and edge of the battlefield.

"BOOM" "BOOM"

The explosion of Grenades echoes into the distance as many mutants, humans, and undead fall on the field of battle, one man keeps firing as he runs through enemies blood splattering across his armor, the rest of his squadron, his silver eyes gleaming with pride and anger as he screams, his Rifle was now out of ammo as he threw it down, drawing a pistol, aiming down the iron sights and firing 12 shots in consecutive success

"AHHHHH!!! DIE DIE!!" more monster corpses were on the ground as he was panting and wheezing while he reloaded his gun.

The grey-haired soldier looked around seeing his comrades on the ground.

"Everyone...no..."

"PING"

"What was that noise...? No time to zone out now..."

Now there were more mutants attracted by the gunshots as he grunted, he glared until he felt a sudden pain as he coughed up blood. The man looked down in shock as he started screaming in pain.

"AHHHHHHH!!!" Tears rolled down his face in pain as he took out a grenade and took out the pin

"I'm sorry... mother..father..sis...I'm coming home soon..."

He closed his eyes as he slammed on the ground a hole in his stomach and his consciousness slipping away, multiple grenades going off as he went out in a blaze of glory while smiling, a single tear going down his cheek as he only saw white. Suddenly he wakes up, gripping his chest and a pained gasp.

"W-where am I?..what happened...I could have sworn I just...died..."

He looked around seeing a woman with red hair as he recalled memories of his past life, he remembered this woman as he called out her name silently

"...Hayami...no..Nakaya-san" she got up and rubbed her eyes hm..? You needed me?" she yawned "and why did you call me by my last name..?"

While she asked this question The soldier just started to realize how young he sounded, he wasn't his grown and grumpy guy self but rather a young man.

"I realized that..we're not destined to be" he looked at her green eyes, his own silver eyes shining as he said so

"What do you mean Tetsu-Kun?"

"No, it's Hayashi-san from now on."

He said so with a serious tone as he picked up his clothing and put them on, getting up again and getting to the door, his hand on the knob the red-haired female put a bit of force into her tone,

"I asked you a question! why are we not destined to be!?"

the grey-haired boy only smiled

"It's because I already know what you did"

The girl looked shocked as a cheeky Tetsu only waved goodbye as he left the dorm

"Alright...time to get to work!"

Hayashi looked at his phone it was March 15 of 20XX then puts it away, seeing his best friend talking with a girl, the male seemed to be considerably larger than Tetsu and gave off the aura of a reliable person. He remembered this person, it was his best friend, nicknamed the Gentle Giant of his year Takao Haruto, he recalled the memories of the girl as well, Shima Hotaru as he approached the two.

"What's up you big lug?"

"Ah, Hayashi-San! it's been a while!"

"It sure has man, who's the Lil lady?" he feigned ignorance

"Oh her? she's-" Takao pointed to her

"I'm Hotaru Shima" the girl would chime in cutting off the large male

"Hayashi Tetsu" he introduced himself giving her a small bow

"It's best we all get going, after all, I don't want to be late to cram school so cya later!"

Hayashi pretended to look at his phone, put it away, and then ran away towards the nearest forge, he planned on putting everything he knew in his past life to use, the first step was finding a Blacksmith to forge everything he needed which wasn't much as he ran towards an area where he often saw smoke from behind the building, for him this was only the beginning. Tetsu ran towards what he called "The Forgery" as he knew what was making the smoke in that yard he knocked on the door loudly 9 times to the rhythm of the song "Thunderstruck" then stood there as 3 people would open the door a young man and an elderly couple, they would welcome him in as they were delighted to see him, even in the shop if he made a request, which he was about to do as he picked up some paper and started drawing something that looked like a ring but had two slots for something to be tied to both ends with various comments and notes

"Hey, Nishiwaka-san do you think you could make this?" Hayashi handed the sheet of paper with the drawings on it to the other young male

"I think I can do it.." He looked at the paper zooming into one of the notes "the rough size of a 5 yen coin..?"

The silver boy smiled "mhm, it's roughly the size I need"

Nishikawa closed his eyes and sighs "I can make it but I need some scrap metal, if you can get some then we're in business"

"Scrap metal huh...then I accept, I'll be right back, hold on to this for me!"

Hayashi dropped his bag as he ran towards his nearest junkyard, about 20 to 35 minutes away from his current location, he dashed there smiling and feeling giddy.

"This time, it's my turn, I'm not letting anyone stop me!" just as he said that he was at the closed doors of a junkyard, sighing as he just climbs the fence and looks around, instantly finding some rusty metals and gets the feeling of instant regret and dread remembering he's only a student, and a weak one at that.

"Damnit...I'm gonna have to lug...these.."

He stared at a plastic bag and sighed

"It's the best I've got now..."

He ran over to it and grabbed it, then walked over to the metal scraps and put as much of the metal as he could before tying the bag and taking it in both arms and jumping over the fence again, the bag of metal hanging from his index and middle fingers then land on the ground running back to The Forgery while concealing the metal as best he could until he got there, the door was there as he rushed in again and just dropped the metals there while huffing and panting

"Dear god...I ran as fast as I could...I collected a lot of metal..do you think you could make something additional to my order...Nishiwaka-san?"

The red-haired male looked at what was in the bag and nods "yep there's enough to last weeks or even a few months, what would you like to add to your order, you get a discount since you brought the steel yourself"

"Thank you..." Hayashi smiled I would like a bo-" as Hayashi was about to add on to the order, he reconsiders looking at his skinny arms "I'd like a slingshot frame built for me as well on top of the order I placed before"

Nishikawa seemed to be speechless

"A..slingshot frame? Weird request, but with Oji-san around I think we can do it, we owe you one for doing errands for our family"

"Hey, how many times do I gotta say it? It's always a pleasure to help you guys out, you are like a second family to me now"

Hayashi smiles and Nishikawa laughs and sits beside him and slapped his back

"Then how about you start calling me Hyung-nim then?"

"AGH! Jeez you get stronger every day you wield that hammer don't you?" he said, rubbing his back

"Yep! I'm only gonna be getting stronger! hehe!" the red-haired male flexed his muscles

"I better go then, I'll see you around ok, get to work on my order! Hyung-nim!" Hayashi laughed as he was leaving

"When you come back ill knock your socks off!"

Hayashi ran back, came through the door, grabbed his bag, then went back out the door, the silence between the two males had them both laughing as they departed on their separate ways.

"Now that that's done... there are some more things I need before my fight begins.."

Hayashi looked at a convenience store and looked around and found a jumbo bag of rubber bands

"Here it is, it's too bad I don't have the time to buy professional supplies...next..."

The boy went to the cashier and paid for the bag of rubber bands before leaving, he knew a pet store around the block so he ran over to there while panting.

"There they are...here goes the rest of the change"

He picked up the box filled with large bags of marbles as he took it to the cashier, they were surprisingly cheap as he stuffed as many bags of marbles into his school bag, having to carry about 4 to 5 bags in his hands before going into his dorm, it seemed pretty messy as his dormmate was gone and clothing, wrappers, and other miscellaneous items were scattered across the floor and on his and his dorm, He picked up the clothing and put them into an arranged pile, picked up the garbage of the floor and threw it in a trash can, swept out the room, and replaced their dirty clothes with clean clothes, it only took him 10 minutes and it was already getting dark as he looked at his phone, it was 13:30 and March 16th

"I got so much done..and it's one more day till it starts..."

he took the marbles out of his bag and placed them in a box he found in the closet under his bed, with the bag of rubber bands he took the bottom bunk then jumped onto his bed, face first, he was too tired to even move anymore, falling asleep
