8 Creations and Anxiety?!

[Day 2... Really now, ugh!]

It felt as if he was paralyzed all over, only able to move his sorry excuse for eyes.

What he was able to do though, was still speak to Omi, who was flying in a panic around his head.

'Omi, what is wrong with me? What happened?' Abel asked, with anxiety lacing his voice.

Omi sighed in relief when she heard her Master's voice within her mind.

With a frown creasing her eyebrows and standing akimbo, she answered frustratedly, "Well, Master, you overtaxed your mana, completely draining it. As for what happened, you would need to see your Status screen for that."

Listening to Omi's suggestion, Abel opened his Status to have a look.

Abel, seeing that there was a new skill, clicked on it in excitement to see the description.

[%@$#& Envelopment]

-----------------------------------------

Abel didn't even try reading it and just had Omi read and explain it to him.

The Skill left him impressed because it saved some time, but the downside was that he would end up depleting his mana, leaving him paralyzed on the ground.

He would first have to look at how long it took him to regenerate his mana before he risked using the skill again.

So, using his current depleted mana status as an opportunity, he asked Omi to let him know how long it took for his mana to become full.

When Abel's mana had finally become full, Omi told him that it had taken roughly 4 hours and that every minute he regenerated 0.8 mp.

This caused Abel to think for a while about the time since dropping to the floor, shockingly realizing that it was already the third day since the Apocalypse began.

[Day 3]

Looking outside the window Abel saw that it was still dark and decided to ask Omi for the time just in case he was wrong. Finding out that it was already 00:15 in the morning.

Omi quickly reminded Abel, "Master, you can still use the zombie that you enveloped and add its stats to your own through Usurp."

'Ah! Thanks for your reminder, Omi; everything since waking up yesterday would have been more difficult if it wasn't for you being here with me.' he said this while stroking her hair causing her to blush.

Abel used the stored energy of the zombie, feeling the energy leave the crystal in his chest and move to every cell within his body.

Moving his hand, he found it to be twice as fast as before and also saw that his skin was slightly less wrinkled, and his fingers didn't seem as skinny as before, after absorbing the stats of both zombie's.

He also felt his mind become slightly clearer than before thanks to the extra stats.

Abel quickly opened his Status to take a look.

After seeing his new stats, Abel had a craving for more.

Looking at the zombies near the infirmary door, he noticed that the door had scratch marks that he assumed came from the zombie's scratching the door.

Leaving that mystery for later, he decided to try out his skill Corrupt in its mist form, which cost 1 mp/s, which he found out after asking Omi.

Making his way over towards the zombie's, he activated Corrupt, causing a pitch-black mist that absorbed all the light that came into contact with it into the surrounding 2-meter radius with Abel at its center.

When the mist came into contact with the zombie's, their reactions were immediate; they growled while turning around to lunge towards Abel.

While Abel himself was watching the zombie's gain black spots where their skin was beginning to get reduced to nothing, revealing the blackening muscles underneath as black veins spread from the area.

Deciding that they were damaged enough during these 10 seconds to use Wither on them, he stopped the skill as all he needed was an open wound.

All he needed to do was wait for the zombies to reach him, but decided to walk towards them, as he didn't want to waste so much time, as they were now even slower than him.

When he was close enough to them, he quickly stuck his hands into their open wounds before they could bite him.

The zombie on his left had a wound on its left forearm that was exposed, while the one on his right had one on its neck, so Abel quickly used Wither twice in rapid succession as soon as his hands were in contact with their wounds.

This caused energy to exit the crystal in his chest, going towards both hands at the same time and causing two streams of Vitality to flow into his body, not even giving the zombie's a fighting chance and leaving them to collapse to the floor.

Before Abel could use his new Skill to Envelop them, Omi stopped him, saying, "Master, why don't we use the Inventory to store the bodies, as there might be a person in the infirmary that we don't know about?"

When Abel heard Omi, he was reminded of Ms. Emberwing. Worried for her safety, he quickly used his Inventory to store the bodies of the two zombies.

Walking to the Infirmary door, Abel finally felt something that he was all too familiar with: anxiety.

Anxious because he didn't know what he would find when he opened that door or how, if Ms. Emberwing was alive, she would react to him with his current appearance.

Though he needed to do it for himself, if there was a chance to help that kind woman who helped him, he would need to open that door and face whatever would be on the other side.

Mustering up his courage ever so slowly, he reached towards the doorknob, each second stretching out to last an eternity.

Finally, turning it carefully to not alert anyone or anything that might be on the other side, and pushed...
