I knew I had fucked up. Not only had she caught me balls deep in another girl, but I had also been a jealous arsehole and stooped Scarlett from protecting my sister when she needed it most. I was selfish. No wonder Adam warned me to stay away from Scar. She was too good for me. Yet, I couldn’t bring myself to stay away.

Asher would have been the better choice. Yet when I watched them together, I wanted to rip his fucking throat out with my teeth. It had taken everything I had to keep my calm. I didn’t know what it was about Scarlett that literally drove me to the brink of insanity.

I was pulled out of my thought as Scarlett walked through the front door. Her tee ripped, red scratches on her face and arms, her hair was dishevelled, and bruises started to boom across her shoulder and face.

“What the fuck happened to you?” I ask, striding across the hall toward her.
