Hello, let me first introduce myself. My name is Harold Simons, the Class B Site Director of Site-25 among many of the other Sites under Sector 25, the primary Foundation Facility located in a restricted area of Cornwall, England. Still, currently, I'm at a sub-base of Site 25, Located in an unexposed area of Cornwall, England. However, even though I am the Site Director of Site-25, a seemingly high position among the thousands of members of the SCP Foundation. Of course, I am not counting the D-E class. If you measure them in the foundation members, probably reaching millions.

While me despite being Site Director only having Level 3 access despite most other Site Directors having Level 4 and above access clearances, which causes me to be compared to other site directors as an incompetent director.

And this is due to the unfortunate fact that this facility I'm the Site-Director to is often called the most lackluster and incompetent facility under the Facility Management due to its lackluster and pretty old tech compared to other Sectors. In this place, pretty much all weak and useless personnel are downgraded/assigned to from other Site's while not firing them outright, and last it's numerous amount of failures/lousy luck through the days ever since the end of the site's glory days at the end of World war 2.

So anyway, as It was just an ordinary day after, a weirdly job-filled month, that my Site usually doesn't get. Most of the time, only low and unimportant SCP's from other sites or newly discovered ones nearby are stored and guarded along with short tests done in this site.

And Site 25 is somewhat of a new recruitment camp of sorts for possible Sector-25 Containment Specialist, Field personnel, Security Officer and Researchers, where the pretty normal ones get tested on for a while before being reassigned to other Site's that fits well with their skills. This doesn't count for talented people recruited outside of the Foundation as they are often already joining the facility, skipping any training into already high facility positions. Due to talent alone, some get assigned Class 2 clearance after entering, but that situation is rare.

So in this job-filled month, it happened all because of a weird event that I never even thought would happen, despite me working with magical objects all the time as a Site Director.

First of all, in the last month, an unknown person seemingly being an essential researcher of the facility, with weirdly a face that I could grasp myself. And this man had come in contact with me, telling me that his arrival was due to some research he was going to conduct with nearby SCP.

Seemingly also related to another event just this week, with the Site's Anomaly Detection System, finding traces nearby yet undiscovered SCP, in a hospital where a child who seemed to have released the thing that SCP triggered the anomaly detection system to alert.

But in that process, although I should be used to it now, we had to eliminate the child's parents as we thought the child was an SCP back then. Even if the child hasn't done anything harmful yet, the foundation rules are to contain such anomalies for the sake of humanity at any cost.

So if there is something anyone working in the SCP foundation knows, for the sake of society, we have to forget our morals, even if the actions are too cruel to do for an ignorant person living without knowing the many dangers the foundation contains.

And as this event happened, we got hold of the child and conducted various tests to determine his powers and differences from normal humans. Still, a few days later, after experimentation and delivery of a report from a nearby site, it seemed that the SCP Anomaly Detection System our site has picked up was a detection of a site Breach in that location due to the actions of an accident.

It seemed that one of the SCP's tests that let loose some of the SCP's in that site was the cause of the detector going off as the SCP that escaped past through the particular area where the child was born, leaving traces of anomaly in that area. So due to the event that my facility is once again ridiculed in gossips, from members that communicate with others in their groups, as being stupid for actually not noticing the difference.

And due to those events, I wasn't really in that good of the mood, including all the paperwork I had to do to transfer the fake alert child that we thought was an SCP to an orphanage under the control of field agents, specialized in the monitoring of new talent, and possible recruits for the foundation in the near future.

And the reason this child was sent there and not just to another orphanage that is typical for the people that the foundation helps out often the financial problems of deceased personnel families of the SCP foundation.

While also helping out the family of the people killed in SCP-related disasters from containment breaches or discovering new SCP's.

For my thought, this Sector of the Foundation is one of the few sectors that shows the foundation's humanity despite being cold and willing to sacrifice people, particularly D-class in research.

So Aside from that the reason, the child was not sent to the normal orphanages that SCP victims, Is due to the discoveries newly discovered a year ago when in sporadic cases among the humans in the world, it seemed that sure newborns within these years seemed to have one singular gene that is different from normal humans that according to publicly known facts, is a sign that shows that humanity is now starting to evolve to a new species. This new gene seemed to be the fresh start of it.

Based on the current discoveries, this gene appeared to cause children to seem to have bodies that develop stronger than humans. From one particular case, it also gave them unique abilities that can be considered supernatural power.

When I heard this news from my superiors/ other site directors, I thought the 05 councils would order something like worldwide containment of these children that seemed to be the next step of humanity. Still, to my surprise, it appeared that the council had other plans for these children and since these children are still recent discoveries, the various governments around the world also know about this.

These Governments and the Foundation seemed to have plans for these children in the future with the new gene. They probably already thought that these children were the next step of human evolution. They couldn't honestly stop human development unless they used an SCP, of course, But since this human evolution would benefit future humanities probably facing off the SCP's that humans can't handle. They didn't seem to restrict these children, so for now, they seem to monitor them in normal childhoods, unless they change their thoughts in the future.

And since the odd haired child, even among the kids with new genes discovered around the world as of now, was found in his district and from the misevent, he will be sent to one of the foundations, now the newly built location for exceptional children with unique talents, the Foundation has been gathering for a few years, and the appearance of new genes also improved the funding of this project.

So after this tiring month, today after the days when the man with "indistinguishable features" to report his founding, which amounted to nothing but since he's a person probably higher up than me as he showed a 4-class clearance card when he first appeared, I couldn't complain or something like that, so I just thanked the man as he thankfully left.

And other than that, today was finally the day of transporting the child to the orphanage especially monitored by the field agents of the foundation and extraordinary people. So today, after finishing all my daily contract work, I can finally relax for a bit after all that work in that month before. But as the Site Director, I needed to at least once a month check on the facility, so today, I was inspecting the whole facility by myself along with some guards for some safety since despite my level 3 class clearance, I am still a site director, so my security is still essential.

So as I had just passed by the Offices where some of the researchers in Site-25 were doing their work, The facility was suddenly alarmed with a warning seemingly have problems near the Control Room in Sector-H of the Site, and seeing this problem the people seemed to panic, and as the site director I had to clam them down, and so afterward since we didn't know the emergency we then started to check the places around the facility to see if the attack on the control room had been some diversion in other areas, so I assigned my guards to check out other important areas of the facility,

At first, my guards did not accept my order as they thought since I was the director, my safety was the most critical situation right now. However, I could honestly appreciate what the guard told me; his answer was wrong as I told him the things we contain on the site are the most important.

So with that, I managed to convince my guards to inform other guards who already may have started to move to see the site's various locations if anything terrible happened in other areas. And not only did I use my reasoning to make the guards move, but I also used my body. Despite being a site director, I also had a buff body capable of quickly taking down even the head guard of Site 25.

This was due to me in the past being one of the Foundation's High-Rank Task Force members, who retired from the frontlines; this site director role was still pretty significant and buff, as I maintained my training to keep this body despite being a site director. I also ordered the scientist and tech specialist to check the situation of the tech in the facility. Still, since the control room was the room that had the problem, they could only gather few data, as the control room is the place where all the site's information base was mainly stored.

So knowing that, I then quickly headed to Site-C to the control room, and as I ran towards the control room at Sector-H as I was now in the hallways of Sector B, which was the shortest path to the control room, Thanks to my perception honed, from various battles from before, I noticed a presence that is not a site member's presence, as the presence I felt was rushed, awkward and seemingly escaping, so due to that I immediately went in quicker steps, and as I reached the corridor where I felt that present I then looked around, and to my surprise, I saw near some rubble on the side was a small child, which from the looks, seems to be the child that had the new gene, who was supposed to be transferred today. Still, before I wondered why the child was alone here, I noticed a large wound on the child's head with a lot of blood flowing through his head.

So as I saw this situation, I immediately picked up the child as I saw the child's life seemed to be in danger from the child's injury. Hence, as I saw that aside from the rubble seemingly caused fro the child's impact on the wall as the child seemed to have been smacked with a charged object right on the head, which my gut seems to tell me is the person who caused all the trouble happening in the facility now, I decided to take this child immediately changed my destination from the direction from the control room to the medical room of the site at, Sector C- which was pretty close here. Hence, as I ran, I thought to myself.

"Hope this kid survive or else, my reputation would be more tarnished after all this time, being treated as the worst site director, aside from all the events this month, would also be labeled as a person who actually managed to fuck up an escort mission, by managing to kill a kid with new gene, And of course I'll also hope this kid survives for him to live, I'm not that heartless" And as Harold criticized himself as he thought of the child condition In his arms, he nevertheless made sure he would get to the med room on time.
