18 Mi casa es su casa

Bodies and severed body parts strewn over all over the place. The aftermath of the explosion looked like a civil war just happened.

Black, charred bodies of zombies were scattered left and right, some were still burning, and others were blown up into millions of different pieces.

Luckily for the group, they were outside of the helicopter explosion's blast radius. The trio looked at the burning chopper with mixed feelings. They were glad that they escaped the crisis, and even benefited from it, but it also meant that their opportunity to fly to Putrajaya was decreased.

The trio climbed down the roof and back into the mansion's third floor balcony. Joy and Annie was waiting for them.

"Unbelievable! You guys are amazing!" (Annie)

"A-Are those creatures totally wiped out?" (Joy)

"Not yet. The blast only took out about five-hundred of the undead. We saw a few more behind, probably in the one hundreds or so." (Melissa)

Five hundred?! That much?! How does she even knew that?

Melissa, Zack and Chai checked their experience points after the explosion aftermath. They subtracted the new points from their previous ones, and reported to each other.

Totaled up, it came to a whopping 536 experience points.

Zack has gotten 181 experience points, Melissa has gotten 179 points, and Chai received the balance of 176 points.

How the points were distributed, was still a mystery to them.

What Melissa was referring to the remaining hundred-plus zombies, was that they are not completely safe yet. After such a big commotion happened, it was undeniable that it would attract more zombies to the Municipal Shelter.

"So guys, what do you think? Wanna finish up the job?" (Zack)

Chai and Melissa agreed. They would need to restock their ammunitions in order to finish off the remaining zombies remaining in charred Municipal compound where the helicopter used to be at.

Meanwhile, the extremist right-wing group members were scattered and ran away from the scene. They fled to the Central Building, where they have fortified its defenses.

The East Wing has been completely abandoned, as the explosion broke the windows and doors of the building. The remaining zombies has yet to go into the building, due to them being attracted to the explosion earlier.

But anybody with even half a brain knows that it's suicide if you plunge yourselves into a building full of openings, surrounded by zombies.

Inside a spacious room, decked in lush interior design in a serene cream color and brown floor carpet,a man was lying down on a couch. His face was bruised black-and-blue and swelling terribly.

He was the very leader of the Municipal Shelter himself, Major Puluk Inar. Now, he was reduced to a sorry state by Chai's earlier rampage.

He was currently being treated by DIKASARI personnel, but none of them were professional medical officers. They could only provide him very basic medical care.

"Sir, I swear on my life that if we ever cross paths again in the future, I will personally kill them with my hands!"

His right-hand man, Captain Loudeen, was trying to appease his superior's demise. But inwardly, he has his own sinister plan…

To kill the remaining zombies in the Municipal Shelter, they needed to retrieve their Range Rover that contained their firearms supply.

On the very same house's third floor, the team were discussing their next move.

"Annie, Joy, we're going to decimate the remaining zombies. Zack and Chai are going to get the ammunitions while we three find some good place to snipe." (Melissa)

Melissa seemed more reliable now, even more than before. Her leadership is slowly being formed in this apocalyptic situation.

(As expected of a General's daughter.)

With a faint smile, Zack ran down together with Chai to the place they hid their Range Rover. The team agreed to meet back here in ten minutes. After 10 minutes, the black SUV arrived at the three-story house they used to shoot the helicopter just now.

The ladies got in to the car and Joy showed Zack, who was driving, the optimal place to pick off zombies.

They arrived at a wide playground. The playground had all sorts of colorful and bright equipment. One in particular was a five-meter high slides that could double as a shooting base.

The top base of the slides was quite large, it could hold about seven people at the same time. That gave the team enough space to put their weapons and bullets.

Melissa was teaching Joy how to handle a submachine gun, the Uzi. After a few times of checking, they are already in the firing position.

The target: head-shot all the remaining zombies. Once they are done, the team will drive away from the playground. The playground itself was relatively closer to the wall, compared to the three-story house they were at.

"Ready! ------ FIRE!"

Baam! Bang bang! Bang bang! Tatatata!

Rounds after rounds of bullets were shot. In a few minutes, almost more than a hundred zombies were down for the count.

When Chai and Zack arrived the gates of the USJ5 Residence, they found out that all the Armed Security Forces of the residence were dead. Upon examining a few of the bodies, the found out that most of them were shot to their forehead.

Were they turning into zombies and killed each other before they turned?

Highly unlikely because there were no zombies in the residence, at all. But well, these are just the two men's assumption.

Being the novel readers, they actually took out several bullets that were shot into the guards. He just might identify the real killer's identity. If they killed each other because of a predicted scenario, then the case would be solved.

The problem was that if, and only if, the bullet was not the ones issued the Armed Security Forces. Then they'll have a challenge.

After a few minutes of shooting, the zombies were completely slaughtered. Corpses piled up everywhere within the compound.

Five of them got down the slides and moved towards the car. Chai unlocked the car and quickly started the engine.

He then drove to the most beautiful and most secured house in the neighborhood, if not the whole Malaysia.

Roughly a few minutes later. They have arrived.

All five people of the team has settled in a four-story mansion. The exterior exudes a beautiful, posh design of post-modernism.

The house is clad in glass and stunningly authentic woods, signifying the exuberant cost of the property.

On the ground floor. All of them gathered in the kitchen while eating and drinking. They took out anything edible and set them up on the kitchen counter.

"Well, make yourself at home, guys. Mi casa es su casa." (Chai)

While eating a tub of yogurt ice-cream, Chai casually prompted his team mates make themselves comfortable.

This luxurious mansion is Chai's house. After retrieving the Ranger Rover from the hiding place, they drove inside the residence and headed straight to his house for a rest.

"Now it's either we wait for Mel's father to send a helicopter over, or we ourselves head to over to Putrajaya. Any luck contacting with your family members, Mel?" (Zack)

Zack asked Melissa while casually chugging on a bottle of wine. Previously, the DIKASARI Militia took out Zack's and Chai's cellphone when they searched them, while Joy and Annie left their cellphone back at the shelter when they were detained.

"Even using the house phone, I couldn't connect to him. I tried calling my mother or my brothers, but none of them seem to go through. It's like the telecommunication lines went down or something." (Melissa)

Since Melissa originally lost her phone back in the chaos, none of the members had any cellphone.

"What did the news and forums say?" (Annie)

Annie spoke up while sitting on a bar chair near the counter and scooping up some chocolate ice-cream into her mouth. The news channel on the TV was in Malaysian language, so a native Australian nonetheless do not know what it said in the announcements.

"As of now, things are turning out worse. The rioting and infection were reportedly becoming uncontrollable by the seconds." (Zack)

As the only electronic devices left in Chai's mansions are Smart TVs, laptops, and other electronically integrated items, they couldn't find a single cellphone in the house.

Therefore, the updates for the situation was brought up to the TV screen in the kitchen.

Practically every TV channel were reporting about the catastrophe.

Social media networks were in chaos as everybody reported their locations, and also reported people missing. News and updates of shelters and safe areas were shared all throughout the sites.

Forums were discussing about the theory of how the zombie infection started, whether a cure was possible, the mode of infection and why the sky is in a crimson color.

From there, Zack skimmed through all the information and collected them into a cloud drive and a hard drive. He then performed a complex algorithm to see how the future might be.

"You guys take a rest first. We'll switch sentries every hour. I'll take the first one. Once everybody got a shut eye, we'll discuss what's next. Good night."

As all of them went through the gruesome experience a while ago, it practically drained their physical and mental energy.

As for Chai and Zack, they were in a better shape than the ladies as their physiques has been upgraded.

Chai showed the ladies the rooms on the third and fourth floor. There were a total of seven bedrooms altogether.

Melissa settled on a room at the third floor, and the mother-daughter pair also settled on another room in the third floor, just adjacent of Melissa.

Zack continued gathering up info from every possible sources and analyzing each one of them. At the same time, he posted all the information that he knew to all the available websites and social media networks.

(Hope this could help everyone out there…)

Zack planned to stay up for four hours and switch with Chai afterwards. He felt that the ladies that are physically still normal humans would need a good night sleep.

He stared at the computer screen, waiting for a reply from the email of his parents. He tried FaceTime and Skype, but none of them connected. It seemed like the communications are starting to break down.

(Should I try to hack the military satellites? I do feel that I pick up things faster now. Maybe I should learn up hacking?)

He strolled and patrolled over the Chai Family's mansion one more time just to be sure there were no possible dangers. Then, Zack started to surf the web and learn how to hack.
