33 Chapter 33- Meeting

The swift movement of an indiscernible blur, like a whisper in the wind, carried from one tree to another, leaving no trace of its presence. Not even the squirrels, with their keen senses, were stirred from their peaceful slumber.

But suddenly, the tranquility of the forest was shattered by a shrill scream that pierced through the air, disrupting the harmony that once enveloped the surroundings.

With a smile gracing his incomparably handsome face, Jason gracefully came to a halt, seizing the opportunity to let Selena dismount from his back. Yet, a flicker of reluctance danced in her eyes as she reluctantly complied.

Her once immaculate hair and dress now in disarray, Selena appeared as though she had weathered a tempest. The remnants of her beauty, however, still radiated through the chaos.

Jason attempted to maintain a composed expression as he gazed at her, but his resolve quickly crumbled. His tightly pressed lips gave way to a melodious laughter that resonated through the dark forest, akin to the sound of silver bells.

Selena lifted her head, her enchanting eyes filled with a mixture of grievance and resentment, reflecting the emotions that coursed through her being.

"She is fine, don't fret," he reassured her, reaching out to wipe the sweat from her forehead, damp from worry for her mother's safety.

"Let's go," Jason said, crouching slightly to offer her a way to climb onto his back.

"Ready?" With a nod from Selena, they vanished into the darkness.

"Young lady, your boyfriend is about to receive an earful from me. You better pray that he has fled." Selena's mother bellowed, flinging open the door.

Selena, her lips pressed tightly together, followed her mother, her heart filled with both anxiety and hope.

The door swung open, and Selena's mother froze in her tracks, as if her very soul had been stolen away.

"Hello, Madam. I am Jason." Jason bowed gracefully, pressing a gentle kiss to the back of her hand.

"Mom, can Jason come inside?" Selena inquired, her voice dripping with sweetness, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Yes, of course." Selena's mother quickly turned on her heels, her face flushed with embarrassment.

The pair shared a moment of laughter, followed by Selena gracefully planting a kiss on Jason's lips, before leading him to the elegant living room.
