19 chapter 19- The Aftermath

Author POV

"Crunch"

The wolf bit hard on Jason's skull; a single bite turned it into crystal dust, his skull even more fragile than a human's skull.

The terror of the supernaturals, the monster among monsters died, and now no remains of his body exist; all disintegrated after the blast.

Who knows how many towns disappeared in his path? Wherever he went, all living beings disappeared, entire towns turning into ghost towns.

"It's done" The Irish Coven couple kissed each other passionately; after all,  their 400-year-old relationship almost came to an end in this fight.

Zafrina stood still, gazing at the crystal dust dissipating in the wind; her eyes strangely dark, with no sign of breathing in her body. Senna came and hugged her from behind.

"Zafrina, what's wrong?" Senna asked, concerned, shaking Zafrina's body.

"I can't see," Zafrina whispered. Her tone was confused, like she couldn't comprehend how her vision was gone.

"Whaaat !" Senna blurred in front of Zafrina, cupping her face delicately before looking into her eyes.

Senna's eyes widened in disbelief, because Zafrina's eyes were completely black. There was no need for empty words between them so she just raised her hand to brush Zafrina's hair and hugged her tighter.

The battlefield is now completely quiet, other than several kilometers of destroyed places, uprooted trees, and boulders sliced apart, which will soon be fixed by the supernaturals present here. Burying any evidence of the earth-shattering battle that took place here.

With this land under the "Protected" category in European Union Law, no human will intrude here, making it a perfect place to kill Jason.

" Growl"

The wolves returned after an inspection of the area, making sure no remains of Jason were left lying on the ground.

The return of the wolves compelled the group to break away from each other and focus their attention on them.

The Irish couple stopped kissing each other, but their hands were still crawling on each other's bodies, signaling a few steamy nights that were about to come.

The Amazonian women focused their attention on the wolves too. Anyway,  the loss of sight is not a problem for vampires; their other senses are more than enough to support them in combat or hunting.

The remaining Irish coven's member, a girl, stood alone awkwardly. Both the covens were taciturn; the Amazonians weren't angry because they lost their valuable gift; and the Irish couple too didn't talk about how they almost died in setting up the trap; both were ready for their losses, be it gifts or lives.

The wolves didn't bring any remains, signaling that it's completely over now and the devil is dead.

None of the wolves died; a few are injured badly, but they will heal completely within the week.

The Alpha, being in a good mood, signaled for the vampires to leave, and the wolves would take care of burying the aftermath of the fight. Their companionship with the vampires was just for this one fight; if possible, they don't want to see any 'cold one' ever again.

Taking the cue, the two covens disappeared their separate ways, no sign of good-byes, signaling their distrust and resentment.

Awoooooo

The Alpha howled to the Twilight Moon, and the other wolves joined him, their howles echoing for several dozen kilometers.

After making sure that all vampires left, The Alpha phased back into his human form. A handsome young man probably in his early twenties or older. With just his visage, it was tough to tell his age.

The face seemed to be full of vitality, but those dark eyes were full of vissitudes, like they had seen the truth behind the veil.

"Alright, take the injured to the tribe's healer." He ordered, and the rest of the wolves complied. Turning back into their human forms. Using makeshift strechers, they carried the injured back to the tribe.

"The remaining of you will fix this mess," he ordered the second group. His tone is a little strict, like commanding unruly children.

The young teenagers soon got to work, leaving Alpha behind.

The Alpha gazed at the moon while muttering something quietly; his whispers were carried over the breeze before it disappeared.
