17 The man with a past (New pov)

6am on the west coast, you could see a tall man jogging at the beach. This man was clad in a green t-shirt and blue shorts and was as buff as Dwayne Johnsen. When it seemed as he was done with the jogging, he went to the gym and went to lift some weights. He decided and took the dumbbells which had a weight of 90 kilograms each.

He lifted them as they were lighter than air for a while, until another man, clad in a black suit came and said: Johan, you have to come back to work. Even miss Janis have begged the boss to let the matter between you two to go. Johan just looked at the man and said in a calm voice: I am tired of working as Secret Service agent when my superior only eat doughnuts and don't try to stop the escalating chances of war. I quitted because I want to have a chance at life, and not because I hit Smith.

After Johan said that, he went for the showers and disappeared at the beach. After a while he came to a condo where he took out a key and locked him self in. When he closed the door, he said: Manifest, Festo. And in front of the man a red rifle appeared from empty air. This was a item which Johan had suddenly acquired after he found his superior with his girlfriend on the office desk, quite busy with their tryst. After that, Johan left Secret Service after having slapped Smith and his girlfriend. After that he did some odd jobs at a Quickmart and 7/eleven stores until he was hit in the head by a bottle.

He woke up at the hospital with a red pocketknife and a bump on his head.

Apparently, he had been mugged by a pimp who was later caught by the police because of possession of drugs and a gun without a license. But when Johan asked why he had a pocketknife with him, the nurses and doctors just starred at him and transferred him to the mental department. After a week there he decided to just pretend to get out of there.

While he was there, he learned about the identity of the knife, which was apparently a weapon from a parallel universe sent to this world to let humanity have chance to survive the coming apocalypse.

This knife could change to any kind of registered weapon and had infinite ammo, as long as those were scanned as well. Johan, which had always liked webnovels and guns, immediately took out his 9mm gun and scanned it, along with a bullet from the magazine.

Afterwards he got more details from the system about what he should do, which was to get a good car and get to a safe location with his dears and a lot of supplies. He owned a BMW and all his dears were dead after a failed robbery from his past, so he did at least have a lot of space in the car. As for a safe place, the system said it knew of a place, but that it would be hard to be let in there.

Johan did not care much about that issue and went to a gun store to scan different weapons and bullets. He scanned a Mossberg, an Ak-12 and a Barret M82. These were all guns he had used in his work, and were familiar with, so there would not be any problems when he used them. When he got a notice from the system that there was only expected to be a month left until the apocalypse, he prepared for a long trip.
