Synopsis

Chapter 1Prologue

I ran into the nearby convenience store and hid behind one of the shelves. I held my breath and listened carefully to any movement.

And then I heard.

"Gruaghhh", groans and loud dragging sound came from outside of the store.

The hordes finally missed me, I thought.

When silence finally fell, I let out a sigh of relief.

Stupid me.

As soon as I let out the sound, I heard cracking of bones.

"Grrr...uaghhhh" Of course, there's one of 'them' that missed the crowd and heard me.

I looked towards the entrance and saw the limping figure dragging his barely-intact left leg on the floor, making a very annoying screeching sound.

"You really won't leave me alone, huh?" The figure flinched and aggressively turned his neck towards all directions to find the source of sound.

"Not too rough buddy, you might snap it." He looked towards my direction.

Huh, he has figured it. Quite fast.

"Good, come here then. I wanna see how fast you can walk, since you can't run with only one leg."

"Graaaaagggghhh" He limped towards me, two steps per second.

"You're slow buddy." The ugly creature stopped moving.

"Huh? Giving up?"

"Gruuughhh" A sudden realisation washed me over.

Fuck, it's coming, I thought.

And it came.

"GREEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAK" He let out a long, annoying, screeching sound.

"You fucking coward." I said as I stabbed him with my sharp sword.

"Stupid crybaby," I slashed the corpse into two and kicked them away to let out my frustration.

I cursed as I heard horrifying rumbling sound.

The crowds of zombie was running towards where we were.

"Tough luck, Jeon. Now you have to run 10 times faster" I spoke to myself. I rinsed my precious sword, that was covered in dark coloured blood, with some mineral water that I found before I walked out of the store.

I looked to my left and my right. There's hordes of zombies coming from all directions.

'I'm going to trust me, myself and I.'

"Left one seems less crowded and slower."

'Since I'm all alone.'

"There might be just around hundreds."

'No friends, no family, no comrades'

"Seems safer than the right"

'Where'd they all go, you ask?'

"Let's do this."

'They're all dead.'

With a sharp sword in each of my hands, I charged towards my left.

I just don't fucking care about living anymore.

Humans had developed steam gear technology, and the islands were connected through boats. They survived by studying strange phenomena that happened all around the world. However, as the captain of a scary-looking ghost ship, Duncan was facing a huge challenge. "How the heck do I steer this ship?" Highly recommended by experienced editor: MC is transmigrated to a world mostly covered in water and far from civilization. He becomes the captain of the ghost ship, the 'Homeloss'. He steers through the fog and adventures through the broken world and the unknown deep sea. As he discovers the ruins of abandoned civilization, he would also stumble into the war between the strange phenomena and the devil gods. The story takes place in a combination of ocean and Chutly mythology world, a new and interesting background. It’s an attractive story to read due to the author’s sense of humor and mastery over the ambiance of the story. --------------- Another-style introduction: "On that day, a thick fog engulfed everything. On that day, he became the captain of a ghost ship. On that day, he crossed the dense fog and faced a completely overturned and shattered world – the former order was completely gone, and peculiar phenomena dominated the endless seas beyond civilized society. The island city-states and the fleets challenging the sea have become the only lights of civilization left, while the shadows of old days still lurk in the deep sea, waiting to devour this dying world again. But for the new captain, there's only one pressing question – Does anyone know how to sail this damn ship?!"
