16 SURVIVAL, PART 6: Not the only ones in love.

We took a one-and-a-half-hour break, to have some food and water, and also rest a little. The previous training had been very tiring. Kayra and I took advantage of that time to also check on Jace’s wound, making sure it wasn’t infecting. Thankfully, it was healing. Kayra brought it to my attention the fact that Jace was awake, knowing nothing of what had happened between us.

Me - How are you feeling now?

Jace - Much better. It’s much less painful now than it was last night.

Me - I’m glad to hear that. Hopefully we’ll be able to move out of here by tomorrow.

As Kayra left to join the others, and I tried to follow her, Jace grabbed my hand to pull me back.

Jace - Can I ask you something? When they told you to leave me behind right after my injury, why didn’t you?

Me - Wait how do you…

Jace - I was not fully unconscious yet I guess, because I just

remembered that. So why didn’t you?
