A few hours went, he kept on bullying Jace about his childhood, citing moments from the past where Jace had been badly hurt. He kept on threatening to kill him, and us. He asked the other boys about their personal lives, their families …. We kept quiet as much as we could, afraid he would seek them out. Who knew what he was capable of?

But the man did not take no for an answer. The torture we had to face for refusing to cooperate was unending. The boys suffered much more than us. For the girls, it was more like a slap on the face, or pulling the hair. I often turned my head to Kaleb, just to see if he was alright. I felt guilty for him being here.
