19 How Sparks Survive in Winter (Part 3)

***

In the Central Hall.

Just like the scene outside, the power was out. This wasn't a problem though because some of the people inside had a light-related ability.

Everyone was alert. They immediately knew that something wrong happened.

It's not just a power outage. Hell, we're talking about the soon-to-be most rich company here. There's no way that the electric company would cut them off the list and prank them like this because they can't pay the bills.

Bankruptcy was out of the question.

Also, attacks weren't that unexpected in this world.

But just because it's expected doesn't make it any better.

Panic was filling the air along with confusion. However, there was also a sense of calmness.

'What do we need to fear? Two of the top four are with us.'

'And there's also Sir Deus.'

'They'll protect us.'

'We are going to be fine if we stick to them.'

Some people had these thoughts in mind. Meanwhile, the strong people they were thinking about could notice these thoughts just by looking at their eyes.

'Fucking weak-ass bastards.'

'Idiots. Why would I help them? They should be part of my faction first.'

It angered them to be used as instant shields but it was understandable. They knew it was their responsibility.

Jashan went to a table. He grabbed coffee beans and something Polly had never seen before. She observed the black-haired kid and then asked when he was making his way back to her.

"What are you holding, blackie-bastard?"

"You idiot, you don't even know this? It's a thermos. It keeps the hotness inside. Like water, then you can take it out and use hot water later."

Jashan did a demonstration while he was explaining. It was annoying but he didn't grumble much about it.

Normally, he wouldn't even answer. Then he remembered what he had done to this girl so far. He smacked her head and forced her into a ship. He also remembers that Polly doesn't remember much about her life.

'Idiot. I'm just slight, very slightly, guilty and sorry for what I did.'

These words didn't leave his mouth.

In the far future, Jashan would say to Polly that he had this thought at one point and, as expected, nobody would believe this was true.

Jashan noticed that Polly was looking up while squinting her eyes.

He asked, "What's that idiotic look on your face?"

"I'm thinking," Polly answered.

"Idiot, stop thinking. You'll hurt your brain."

"..."

Jashan thought Polly would glare at him but she just kept on thinking with her pale, obviously nauseated expression. Then she opened her mouth.

"Then I should put my hotness there?"

Jashan blanked out for a moment.

'What did this idiot say?'

"Your what?"

"My hotness, you deaf blackie-bastard."

Polly continued to explain.

"I'm remarkably hot when I'm not a fucking motion-sickness mess, so when I'm outside the ship, I should store my hotness inside a thermos and then pour in in myself when I'm in the ship. That way I will look hot even though I'm----"

Ramble ramble.

Jashan looked at the window to drown the noise. He didn't want to listen anymore. He neither had the time nor the mind to understand how her idiotic mind worked.

Then his eyes caught something.

SWOOSH!

'Hmm? Something just flew over...'

He squinted his eyes.

SWOOSH!

'Another one!'

It was only a glimpse but he saw something familiar. It was the face of someone he once saw while he was imprisoned in a laboratory.

His body automatically started to follow the figure that flew past him. Jashan heard someone screaming his name but couldn't pay enough attention to stop.

He had one thought in mind.

'Why is that idiot here?!'

The face he saw belonged to one of the cruelest people to exist.

If his Devil Flames is a person, it would be that guy.

Jashan was worried. He didn't know this but he wasn't just troubled for himself but three other people and a plant too.

Meanwhile, Polly was dumbfounded.

"That fucker ignored me? I'm older than that damn brat! Ha! Someone needs to feed him manners!"

She was so focused on Jashan's unbelievable action that she only noticed now that it was silent. She looked around. There was only darkness.

'Crap! I let my guard down.'

Tap.

Her glowing pink eyes focused in front of her. She felt an aura with the same level as her. It belonged to a person who had just arrived.

SNAP!

SNAP!

Pink stands of her hair grew long like threads spreading in the water. These came with a faint pink light which made it possible to see the face of the stranger.

'What the fuck?'

Her face looked like she ate shit.

'That is a messed up face of a freaking lunatic.'

The man's face looked horrible. It has so many scars. The ends of the mouth are stretched painfully up with eyes bulging wide open.

'This creep must've gotten high before getting here.'

She readied herself for a fight.

She knew this guy didn't have any good intentions after seeing the bullets forming out of thin air.

Offense-type. The complete opposite of her ability type.

'I just have to get rid of him,' Polly thought.

That moment, the creep opened his mouth and spoke in a faint voice.

It was a barely audible sound but there's only two of them so Polly somehow managed to hear it.

He pointed at his face and said, "You see this? It's the face of someone who likes to kill children."

She scoffed and mimicked him, "You see this? It's the face of someone who doesn't give a fuck."

Her ability started to move more actively.

It was disgusting to be around this man.

She didn't want the others to feel this disgusting feeling so she made up her mind to get rid of him fast.

Then she smiled, 'Those fuckers will have to thank me later.'
