10 Welcome Back Home

The door opened before I touched it. We peeked inside, it was an empty room. We were the only people present here. The place had somewhat warm feel.

Other two also calmed down as we entered the room. I saw bunch of chairs lined up in center. I carefully went ahead and took a seat. Other two still hesitated, probably because this was little too sudden.

Then a man entered the room, he was sliding down a pole from the ceiling. This was the first time I realized that this place had visible boundaries. He looked at us one by one, and then stared at me blankly before speaking.

"Welcome, I suppose that you have no problem making yourself at home here. However, you will not be staying here from now on. We have corrected every possible timeline, so you will be returning to your homes."

"Wait, so we will be sent back to the time from which we left. Not the time we planned to go, right?" asked Tim.

"Yes of course sir, we cannot allow any one of you to cause any further problems. The first correction round took longer than a year. That is for us, your bodies haven't experienced the time change. Unless you went for the correction. Assuming from your uniform, you did."

Tim took a seat as the man answered him. Maya also slowly sat down. Then the man looked at me and Maya, and said, "Looking at your uniforms, you haven't caused much difference to the timeline. There is still time until others arrive, I need to listen to your stories. Please start Miss." He gestured to Maya.

Somewhat worried, she started to tell her experience.

"I got this power in summer, I used it by accident. A boy in my school jumped from balcony. I was just there, I saw him fall. It was probably my will, but I went back few minutes in time. But I was still unable to prevent that from happening. After this incident, I was not able to use the power. Until I decided to go missing. That's when I ended here."

"Quite simple story indeed. No doubt you have green uniform. Now your turn Sir." He turned to me.

"My first experience was when the ice-cream I was eating, fell. I went back and caught it. Then it happened few more times subconsciously. After a while, I went to the school nurse, who thought I was joking. Then I tried to prevent someone's death in my school, but couldn't. So I decided to use the power more carefully. Then one day I saw that I had done all my homework. I did it by going back in time to finish it at beginning of summer break. Then I tried to go forward in time, and ended up here."

As I completed my story, I realized the similarity between my and Maya's story. I decided to ask her head on. After i finished the story, the man left us on our own. i asked Maya about her place, and got my doubts cleared. We went to same school. She was in a different stream, so I never saw her. As we were going on about haw we never recognized each other, Tim interrupted us.

"We should wake Jay and Sam up. They haven't woken up yet."

"I am sorry to inform you sir, but you will not be able to go back there. Rest assured, your friends will be here soon. We should talk about how you are going to go back. Now let me …"

"....."

The man told us that we will be sent back to the exact moment in time from when we left. After we get there, we will not be able to use our powers. The uniforms can be kept, but it will lose its properties. That meant that the suit will feel like a track suit. The band that we are wearing will lose its teleportation feature. But it will be used to keep an eye on us.

In short, everything that we were wearing will be given to us as souvenir. The band will work as an invisible tracker. And we will be sent back without our power. So this was a correction facility, rather than a permanent prison.
