4 The Void

When going forward, I was having fun. Until I was trapped inside this place. This is place felt empty, endless and silent.

I saw almost nothing which seemed light. The place was dark, but I could see myself. Then all of a sudden…

"What the hell! What is this place?"

"Hey! Where am I?"

"The dude in shirt, hey, what is this place?"

"Excuse me, but are speaking to me?"

Bunch of different people burst in too, they also seemed confused.

Here we all were trapped, people with similar powers, to travel in time. Then we heard a sound, it was an announcement-

"Welcome everyone; this is the place you all will be staying until all of your offences are reviewed. This is the house for lost travelers, who mislead the timeline. You all have done it multiple times already; therefore we had to build this place. It's only been 15 minutes and we need more space. Kindly don't fight and maintain peace. Thank you."

As the announcement ended, I looked around to see the most empty-looking crowded place ever. Then I noticed that this place had no gravity, I was just floating around.

So I raised my self above to see better, the place was huge. I saw a sea of people, different looking, most of them wore clothes that I saw only in my history book.

"Weird, isn't it?"

A guy who was above me said. He looked my age and had similar clothing style as my cousins had in late 2000s. He then pulled me by shoulder, and introduced himself. "My name is Jay, I am from year 2009. You look similar, when are you from?" he asked calmly.

"Well, my name is Nate and I am from 2019." I balanced myself, "guess we have ten year gap. should i call you uncle?"

Then we both laughed for some reason.

It took time to know this place well. The place had no gravitational effect, but our body seemed fine. The place somehow made it so that our brain feels the force similar to earth. So, no motion sickness.

Next, we did not feel any need for food or water. Also due to no need of food, we didn't need to go to toilet. Even if we did, there wasn't one.

There was no escape from here too, this was one way. After there was another announcement to explore the place and find a place that suited to us most; people went nuts, pushing each other and just trying to know this place.

I went to the seemingly top most point followed by Jay. This place was huge, like there was no end to it. This was my thought until Jay pushed me to take speed boost and hit his head on the boundary.

This was our spot. We looked around this place for further instructions.

They (the people who caught us) confirmed that we had found our spots, and then told us to close our eyes. We did as they told (what else will you do in that situation?). There was flash of light which was too bright even for closed eyes.

When we opened them and our eyes caught up, we all had similar dresses, kind of like a track suit from outside. Yet it was very comfy.

We also had a band on wrist. It had some sort of illuminating dots, they indicated our spots.

We spent the rest of the time following the instructions.

One time, they gave the last instruction for us to follow. We had to review all the major changes we made in time. This included-

1. Bringing back/ saving someone form death.

2. Changing any major historical event.

3. Killing/ removing someone from a certain part of time.

4. Letting someone from different time see you.

Then, they told us that we can register different places on our bands and go there by touching the indicator. They will be sorting people to different groups, depending on the level of their offences. Then, our uniform changed. We knew the type of crime people did by looking at their uniform.

Then we were left to ourselves here in the place I like to call The Void.
