7 The Cloning Competition Begins

It started. Due to not having anything to do other than sleep and talk, people got bored. Therefore it was decided by the residents of the Void to have a competition.

Many people have learnt to clone themselves. This happens due to the restrains on moving in time. People will try to move in time, only to make one clone which will stay for a few good minutes. i am still not sure how exactly it works. After finding a place good for watching the event, I stopped moving.

Thus, began the cloning competition. Few people with organizing experience were in charge of selection. I am still unable to clone myself. Jay did make one in my pursuit last time, and Tim was getting better at it. They were participating in the competition.

So the audience was getting heated up, due to the fact that we had to stay far away to accommodate everyone. There were a huge number of people that was sitting in the audience. Other were either participating or didn't care.

I counted about 30 people participating. As I was trying to get into a comfortable position, someone tapped on my shoulder and asked;

"Can I sit here?"

"Um, who are you? I feel like I have seen you before."

"Oh, I am Maya, I was the girl your friend hit on stomach. The one who was pretending to be asleep on your orders, remember?"

Now I remember, she was the girl that Jay was flirting with. He punched her in stomach when I used her as shield. But if I remember correctly, there were two girls.

"Hey, wasn't there another girl, where is she?"

"She is participating, so I got here to see. Unfortunately, all seats seemed full, so I got here. Thanks for letting me. Also, where is your friend?"

"He is also participating; he created a clone just to find me after both of you left. So I sent him there to test if he can do it properly. By the way, this place is going to get crowded soon, its better if you leave now."

"Wait- how exactly is this place going to get crowded? Are you also not staying here? Where will you go? Can you take me there too?"

"Hold on- the main stage for cloning is right here. I am not staying. I will go to another place. I can take you there if you want to." I answered, counting using my fingers to make sure I didn't leave any questions.

"HERE BEGINS OUR FIRST CLONING COMPETITION, EVERYONE TAKE YOUR PLACES. WE HAVE TOTAL OF 35 PEOPLE PARTICIPATING. THE ONE TO MAKE MOST CLONES WILL WIN."

We were all cheering. One by one people came and made clones. Jay made only one, Tim made six. But they didn't even come close to the people who were winning. The champion made 22, runner-ups made 20 and 19 respectively. The clones stayed only for few seconds.

As I was starting to leave, Maya tapped on my shoulder.

"What now?" I asked.

"Can you help me make clones too? Your two friends made good ones, can you do it too?"

"Sorry, my only good point here is being able to teleport, or as I like to say, JUMP." I said and jumped to Tim, caught him by head, and jumped back to Maya.

Tim was confused, so was Maya. I did it in less than a second. After few minutes of explaining, Tim agreed to teach Maya to clone. But she was more interested in my jumping skill.

Seeing her, Tim also stated interest in learning too. So, I am stuck now babysitting two other people, as if Jay wasn't enough. Regarding Jay, he was out there talking to participants of cloning competition.

I told them to first register me on their band. Then go and register the people and places they were familiar with. This gave me enough time to take a nap.
