Solo Hunting - The Last Night Of Peace

Time didn't wait for anyone, much akin to the short days of vacation time from work or school.

Seth found the final days had started ticking away faster than he realised, with the supplies and various items now stored in the second and third storage rooms locked behind half-a-metre-thick walls and steel doors.

'Food, future farming tools and goods, medicine and feminine items, long-lasting food, emergency food...'

'System. If you can, is there anything I have forgotten or lack in my plans for the end of two days?'

⁜ Seth Darkwood... There are not two days until the end, as you say. The apocalypse started when you came back, and each choice or action you made to divert the heroines from the plot brought the end closer.

'Then what? Are you saying everything I've done was stupid? I refuse to believe that a villain should be caught off guard! The system gives me more information.'

Seth was sitting in his new study that was located underground and protected by thick doors that needed the correct keycode to enter. The only person who knew the code currently was Elena, who seemed to have made friends with the Luna mansion's owner.

It seemed that time had abandoned him. The news and media would start reporting about the pandemic that was currently surfacing from several sources worldwide. This would trigger a mass panic on the fourth morning.

Leaning back in his black chair, the slight squeak from the fresh parts and crunch of the leather lumbar support as Seth covered his face with both hands. Around him were monitors in 8k, all showing the mansion and its perimeter.

The guard station could only see the same area, but in 4k at best, and in some places, the guards wouldn't even know it existed.

'I should make a company-wide email so that when they see the worrying news in the morning, the people invited to this mansion will come without panic... I will lie, but better than my pawns dying for no reason.'

Seth then typed the email that would reach only those on the list for the company trip, while the rest would get a standard email saying they could take a rest and absence from the company while the government deals with the severity of the pandemic.

'Mother...'

Holding his phone, he contemplated calling her but knew she was probably so excited to be conducting research and development on those elixirs and other things he sent her via email, and thus, calling her now would only alert her to the danger too soon.

'No zombie can enter that place. Even if there were a bombing, those doors wouldn't open... It's the same as the underground labs in that game movie... Maybe with a little girl AI called the Blue Queen guiding them.'

"Haa...."

"So what should I do, system?" His voice was rather calm since reaching the mansion. He no longer had any worries about safety and food.

Honestly, he didn't want to invite anyone else as Anna and her sisters would be staying from today, so why invite a load of freeloaders would take weeks or months to adapt? Yet the bigger picture was something Seth from the real world could see.

Eventually, people might need first aid or a doctor. Several trained staff were employed at his company, and all of them were invited. Intelligent people who could run a small-sized village or town-level society and base needed many different vocations, from financial to the business-minded and the very lowest rung, the actual sales assistants.

"If I were someone else from the novels, they only seem to gather women and avoid men. I can understand they might feel insecure having males around their waifus, but... That's why I chose this mansion with a completely secluded floor that only me and the women closest to me may use."

He also planned to have most males and families living in the dormitory-style apartments east of the main house.

'Well, if any idiot even tries to flirt with Elena, I'll blow their brains out on the spot. This isn't the same world anymore.'

⁜ The best thing you can do now is purchase a close combat weapon from the shop and spend the final night hunting to the north. Some BAD dogs have gotten loose, and quite a few clueless WALKERS are just under five miles from your home.

Holding his pistol cleanly as he finished maintenance and filling the clip, he placed it back in his hip holster and stood up, holding the keys to his motorbike.

'The faster those idiots daydream of making it big learn, the better.'

'I want a blade. Like a machete, sharp, durable, something that isn't too heavy in my left hand while using this pistol.'

'I want them both to Increase my Strength and Agility by 3 points.'

Seth began to change his clothes from the fancy suit into a pair of secure and tight-fitting boxers and a strange bodysuit that seemed to be close to a pseudo chainmail that wrapped his body in a cool and sleek feeling, something he bought from the system for one hundred points.

Then, above that, he wore a black and red biking outfit to ensure none of his body was at severe risk of damage.

⁜ Host should sit down as the attributes and skills are transferred in hyper mode due to the host's desire for speed.

He felt like answering back with a sarcastic voice, but instead, he sat down and gritted his teeth... because in the next moment, there was a flash of light in his huge office.

His body felt like it was burning as he sweated intensely; every cell in his body felt like it was being torn apart and reconstructed faster than ever. The pain was terrible, but Seth knew that the system never lied to him.

"Argh!" It lasted only three seconds, but it felt like an eternity, leaving Seth breathing heavily on the ground after the chair tipped from his convulsing and fit.

When the information entered his mind, it was like someone using a drill to poke inside his skull seven times and feeling like he had run a marathon, Seth collapsed onto his desk, breathing rapidly.

'This... feels good.'

'Now I am stronger than any Olympic athlete, faster than most sprinters and smarter than average, the average genius...'

Seth stretched his body, feeling the difference immediately as he headed to the garage fitted into the basement of the Aurora mansion, which was directly below his study and the hidden room Elena didn't know about yet.

Inside was a selection of cars from his main property; he refused to leave them for others to steal or ruin. With too many top-class cars, he chose the most futuristic-looking bike, with a huge exhaust and black and neon blue secondary colours.

The beautiful Mawasaki 9SZX.1

As the underground steel door slowly opened directly to the northern gate with a thickness of over ten inches, the door was enough to protect his mansion from an emergency as there were four doors with over forty inches of protection.

Seth checked his watch and saw it was coming to ten o'clock in the evening. He sent a message to Su Muyue and Elena, hoping they were safe in the night and nothing happened to them.

He had no idea that Elena had told Su Muyue about the zombies, and right now, they were both about to share the same dream...

A dream about a handsome man with silver hair committing a massacre in the northern forests.

"System, set the alarm every hour until six in the morning and repeat my customised doom soundtrack in the helmet speakers until I am in danger."

When he sat on the motorbike, he leaned back, closing his eyes as the low bass of the introductive song played, a soothing dark EDM track that would lead into the heavy beats. He kicked off the ground as his beautiful bike sang melodies in the darkness, leaving a neon blue light trail.
