18 Tower of Nightmare

"System, I wonder if I am still in the underground?" Shadow asked the System, he wondered because this place seems from another place at all.

A mechanical voice replied, "This is a pocket dimension that I made solely for you after I noticed that extracting technological methods isn't allowed here unless you made it by yourself."

When Shadow heard it, this made him curious as he asks, "What is World Barrier and why did it stop you from extracting the technological methods from my previous world?"

"The World Barrier is like the guardian of the world itself, it will activate once the Magnus Continent felt threaten by either a powerful entity that came from another world or something. Aside from that, it can sense almost everything, it knows what should exist in the Magnus Continent. So, when I was extracting the Technology of your Earth and tried to create here, the World Barrier sensed it and therefore stopped me."

"If I were to create it then wouldn't the World Barrier stop me as well?" Shadow replied with doubts.

"No, as long as you start from scratch then the World Barrier won't stop you. After all, isn't it ridiculous that something that didn't exist suddenly made a powerful weapon that could already be counted as 'artifact'?" System replied.

Shadow could see that the System chuckled, 'How could that thing chuckle?' he thought and shook his head and replied, "You're right System."

After walking aimlessly in this strange place, he found a door and entered. What he saw inside was a little bit strange, "System, what the hell is that?" Shadow pointed something that looks like a black hole.

"It's called the Tower of Nightmare. When you entered it, you will experience all sorts of inhumane training. The participants must have a minimum of five people." The System replied.

"That's clearly a black hole! And also, can you give me some details about what they are going to experience?" Shadow asked the System.

"It's the entrance, Host. Anyway, the Tower of Nightmare has 66 floors. All who entered the Tower of Nightmare will be sent on Floor 1 but of course, they will not meet each other. Then, a voice will tell them what to do in order to reach the next floor and so on." The System replied vaguely.

"Can anyone quit when you can't do it anymore?" Shadow asked the System.

"Unless you reached the 5th floor then yes, you can. But if you are the owner of the pocket dimension then you can quit anytime." The System replied.

Shadow nodded and then told the System that he wishes to try. Without waiting further, he entered the black hole which swallowed him.

After that, Shadow finds himself in a very dark place where only the Tower of Nightmare can be seen.

'Damn this thing really gives me goosebumps.' Shadow thought while looking at the Tower of Nightmare which its height cannot be seen.

Shadow entered the Tower of Nightmare and could no longer see anything aside from darkness until an eerie voice can be heard.

"Welcome to the Tower of Nightmare, Master."

Shadow who became on guard when he heard an eerie voice but was startled when he heard the term 'master' and he asked, "Where are you? Can you let me see you?"

Then an eerie voice replied again, "Master, you already saw me. I am the Tower itself."

Shadow nodded and replied, "Then can you please let me experience how you will train my people?"

The Tower of Nightmare willed what Shadow spoke, then Shadow was teleported in Floor 1.

Then, he saw something that looks like a climbing wall then the eerie voice spoke again, "Reach the top in 30 seconds."

When Shadow heard it he couldn't help but cursed, "What the fuck that's clearly the same height of a three-story house on Earth!"

Shadow then quickly climb trying to reach the top faster and he realizes it's actually easy until he found that there is some broken glass in the Wall Climbing, he didn't notice it at first until he saw his hands bleeding.

"If I was still in Body Structure then this broken glass would surely pierce my hands. Damn it, just the floor 1 is simply fucked up." Shadow cursed not minding his bleeding hands.

While he is closer to reach the top, he notices that it's getting slippery that he nearly fell luckily he was able to adjust and started his climbing once again.

Suddenly, Shadow felt pain in his back and when he tried to look behind, he saw an arrow that pierced his back.

"Oh my fucking god, where the fuck did this arrow just came from?!" Shadow madly climbs, who knows it's his head next time that will get pierced and what's even fucking worst is he didn't sense anything.

After around 25 seconds, Shadow finally reached the top while having several cuts in his hands while his back and arm was pierced by an arrow that could never be dodged.

Then, the eerie voice spoke once again, "Congratulations Master for completing Floor 1, do you wish to try Floor 2?"

Shadow who was trying to remove the arrows quickly replied "No. By the way, will those others experience what I experienced earlier?"

The eerie voice replied, "No, the training will base on their strength."

This made Shadow sigh in relief after all that he did just now made him feel a bit exhausted. Climbing to a height similar to a three-story house, what's even worse is there are a lot of broken glass and a fucking invisible arrow that would pierce your body anytime.

"It seems this floor will train you to increase your pain tolerance. I can say that no one will be able to reach the top for thirty seconds unless they could finally climb without flinching despite the cuts on your hands and the arrows that pierced your body."

Shadow then asked the System that he wanted to leave this place and decided to call the others to let them try this training. In fact, there is another training tool but he decided to call others first before going there.

After fifteen minutes, Shadow arrived where Mei, Scythe and the others are.

"Where did you go and what took you so long?" Mei asked Shadow with a piercing gaze.

Shadow wasn't intimidated and replied, "I was just trying some good stuff."

This made and Mei and Scythe felt curious, then Shadow told the members.

"Those who are First Body Structure make your own group and the second and above as well."

The members then started to form their groups and after 2 minutes, Shadow spoke again, "Today, you will start your training. Brace yourselves since or else you might not be able to come back here."

This made the members tighten their nerves.

"Ursal, what do you think will our training be?" Raghart asked Ursal while feeling a bit nervous.

Ursal look at Raghart and replied, "I don't know but I felt very uncomfortable when he said it."

This made all the First Body Structure felt nervous as they quickly followed Shadow who commanded everyone to follow him.

After walking for five minutes, he signaled the others to stop and then quickly tapped the red button which would show the door for the pocket dimension.

A door suddenly appeared out of nowhere which made them shocked, and even Scythe as well but Mei thought, 'Where did this guy get a pocket dimension?' but she didn't linger on it as she followed Shadow to enter.

After entering, Shadow spoke to everyone, "Now, follow me and I am sure you will like to go there."

After walking for several minutes, they saw a black hole and Ursal asked Shadow, "Sir, are we going to enter there?"

Shadow nodded and replied, "Yes, all of you are going there and you will be sent immediately to start your training."

Shadow then arranged everyone in a proper line and coldly said, "Go and enter."

The group of all First Body structure disappeared in front of them, making the other groups astonished.

"Sir, will any of them die?" Ji Shun asked Shadow, he knew he is going to enter but his group will be the last since all the Tier one nobles are Third Body Structure.

When Shadow heard it, he didn't say anything and just gave him a look which made the latter awkward.

[Tower of Nigmare] - It consists of 66 floors.

[1st] to [10th] Floors - are made to their increase pain tolerance

[11th] to [30th] Floors - are made to make them experience any sorts of mazes, traps, and etc. This will also increase their ideas on how to trap an enemy in the future.

[31st] to [40th] Floors - are made to let them experience patience, they will be left stranded in a dark place for a certain amount.

[41st] to [59th] Floors - are made to let them become even crueler and vicious as they will experience all sorts of murder, massacre, annihilation, genocide and more.

[60th] to [66th] Floors - ??????????
