Chapter 4 - Breaking Through!

"Trinity Methodology? A-grade? Crazy! How did my uncle get his hands on this? The wealth he possesses should never be enough to purchase this kind of book, right?" He asked with a profound look of curiosity deeply etched on his facial features.

After being elated for some time, Hilgamech brought himself together before sinking his mind into the content of the book, ignoring the intense tumultuousness of the air in his room.

But as he read, he didn't know that strong winds were raging outside the mansion, causing workers to be exceedingly perplexed. They didn't know what caused the furious winds to suddenly surface and begin to bellow and rampage about in and around the mansion. And there was no stormy weather. So, this became a mystery that they interpreted as some unknown, incomprehensible forces in play.

Hilgamech's uncle, Thellgarr, now lying in bed, knew about all that was happening and only smiled, closing his eyes to cultivate.

Hilgamech went through the introduction and couldn't help but be greatly marveled. What made him more surprised were the battle-methods mentioned in the cultivation book.

They were large in number and extremely powerful. But this was because the cultivation manual in Hilgamech's hand, which was a powerful Trinity Methodology that consisted of other parts—Battle and Movement, making it a manual of three different art combined into one, had zenith-rank, Supernal Entity-grade (A-grade) battle-class skills that could only be found in some rare battle manual used by stellar, imposing, and majestic Godlike beings.

What caused Hilgamech's eyes to shine more, was a declaration in the manual that once one reached a certain cultivation realm, they would be able to use a particular battle-technique to effortlessly transform a single, slight exhale into terrifying, large-island or super-continent-sized, solid wind gales that possessed the power to instantly destroy or decimate entire rows—hundreds of rows of massive, grandiose cities, turning them into complete ruins. Also, using certain techniques at that cultivation stage, one could displace entire oceans and seas with just a sliver of air, split the earth down to its core, or give him or herself unrivaled movement speed, both in flight and on foot, making its evasion skills totally unequaled.

If Hilgamech knew that the plethoric techniques mentioned in the manual could be used up to the Void Adept stage—a rank just two stages below the Supreme Alpha Eternal stage that no one, including cultivating multidimensional beings, have never reached or satisfied one-thousandth of its harsh conditions to enter, he would be endlessly stunned and constantly question himself on how his uncle was able to get hold of such a powerful, supreme-god-tier manual.

After feeling incredible for a long time, he sat cross-legged on the floor and began to ponder about the wind. The first step was comprehending the form, nature and essence of the wind.

...

As he contemplated the wind, his mind unknowingly immersed into a unique state.

In this state, he felt refreshed and totally relaxed. Also, his physical senses became stronger, like they were augmented far beyond human level.

But his mind, or more precisely, his mental faculty, was the most heightened. He could now process really large amounts of information at an incredibly fast rate.

Hilgamech felt totally great and awesome in this state. He liked it very much and felt he didn't need to come out of it.

Continuing to ponder about the essence of the wind in this mind-heightening state, he suddenly picked up details of the strong winds occurring in an and around the mansion. He was surprised, but he recovered from the shock just as quickly.

Many hours later, he stopped his cultivation and closed the book. The instant he did, the powerful gusts roaring in his room and around the mansion instantly vanished.

He saw how his room instantly returned to normal and shook his head, smiling. Then he delightedly kept the book away.

Focusing on the turbulent winds that manifested in his room moments ago, he had gained a complete understanding of the wind—which was further accelerated by the perception-enhancing state he inadvertently entered. But, there was still something missing. That little thing was the essence of the wind he needed to comprehend. The key to understanding and controlling the air.

Once he succeeded in doing so, he would be able to perceive an energy called 'AeroFlux energy' as named in the manual.

Hilgamech tirelessly contemplated about the wind essence for many days until a week later, a large mass of air began to gather around him and swirl. This mass revolved at an extreme speed, scattering everything in his room. It was simply like a miniature cyclone had appeared in the room.

An instant later, a particular energy that was cyan in color, began to flow into Hilgamech's body from the air vortex that gradually increased in size. This was AeroFlux energy, meaning that Hilgamech had finally understood the essence of the wind. He had successfully tuned his perception to this energy.

Although he was elated, he however didn't stop what he was doing. With intense focus, he carefully directed the glowing, thread-like lines of cyan-colored energy that circulated within his Energy Circuit—an intricate system for the circulation of energy to his Receptacle of Essence for both storage and accumulation.

Gradually, the AeroFlux threads began to accumulate in the Receptacle of Essence, increasing in quantity.

After a long time that seemed like hours, a boom suddenly occurred in his body. But no one else heard the sound, as it only rung within him, signifying that he had broken through the invisible barrier that separated an ordinary mortal from a cultivator.

Now, he had entered the initial phase for the Entry stage.

But, Hilgamech continued to cultivate, doing so until the next morning. This was because he was enjoying the feeling it gave him. There was this peculiar sensation that washed through his body, which felt nothing but divine.

At the moment, all his pores were opened and began to breathe. And for Hilgamech, he really felt anew. It was like he had casted away his old body and gained a new one. He simply felt he was going through some divine purifying and refining process.

Not very long, he opened his eyes. The moment he pulled himself out of the special state he was in, he unexpectedly inhaled a pungent smell of rotten flesh.

'What?'

Hilgamech trembled.

The smell was so powerful that it gave him the strong urge to vomit really hard. However, he held his breath and immediately looked at himself, then he saw that he was coated in a dark black filthy substance that evolved a strong decaying smell.

Not able to withstand the choking pungent smell anymore, he immediately rushed into the bathroom to shower.

After showering—for more than forty-five minutes, Hilgamech came out, feeling really good. But he had never felt this good before, which caused him delight and made him feel revitalized and invigorated.

Suddenly remembering the abilities one would automatically gain once one became a cultivator, he quickly tried it out with a determined look carved on his face.

He looked within himself and could see a large mass of cyan-colored energy gathered there, causing him great elation.

Now, he was a cultivator and was on the path to becoming a god like his role model, the caped supreme expert he always dreamt about.
