A man with a face filled with bushy beards stood up leaving whatever he was doing , as he began stretching his legs.

Well... Many would have been shocked by such scene.

This same ordinary looking man was a local legend , whose popularity was only second to "Scarlet Reaper" within Skywalk city, a battle maniac, some even called him the second Scarlet Reaper, but sadly this never came to pass or maybe fate never had that in plan for him, he had the qualities but not the talent.

So even though he tried hard all his life , he was still not able to surpass that gap in talent, since his mystic talent was only E grade, yh "E grade", you read that right, not everyone was heavens favorite, but the heavens still rewarded his fortitude on his path like the saying "heavens reward diligence".

He became the branch president of Skywalk city Mystic Guild, this would have been an impossible feat everywhere, because there have never been a Silver Rank Mystic branch president in the whole of Mystic Guild history.

Since he was an active mystic who fought with purpose, the Mystic Guild main head thought it would be wise to give to give him such a position, since anyway this was a backwater place with barely any Vicious level beast.

Instead they would send a Gold Rank Powerhouse to sweep through the region every year to prevent any mishaps, or untold stories of a predator level beast suddenly emerging, slaughtering everyone in the city leaving no room for survival.

With a face like he had been wronged

"I didn't sign in for this?" he begrudgingly started preparing for the upcoming battle.

Similar scenes where happening everywhere, like heros summoning.

The city alarm suddenly blared , and the city mayor voice spread through out the city like thunder, giving out commands.

"All those who have the ability to fight should step up the city walls, young and old should stay in hiding."

Hearing this most people started panicking, while some felt it was their duty to protect mankind, raising their morals.

Especially the newly awakeners, their blood began to rush and they Became hot blooded, feeling like I am the protagonist and hero to protect and save mankind from it's fate.

"I am meant for this"

"Following me let's charge through this mindless monsters! "

" Today as humans we die or they perish! "

" Do they think we are weaklings?! "

" What gave them the guts to think, we will be scared of them, when we are the chosen ones blessed by the heavens! "

"What can mere beast do to stop us! " said a somewhat stout youth in white standing in the middle of a four way turn point, in a fearless voice.

Hearing this, their morals was lifted to another whole new level, some men grabbed anything they could call weapon.

"We are awakened even though we may not qualify to be mystic!"

"We are still humans blessed and enhanced by Mana, and we win just stand here and watch our city destroyed! "

" Yeh! " " Yeh!"

" Yeh! "

" Yehhhhhhh!!!! "

" For Skywalk city! "

" For Skywalk city!!!!!!!! "

" We'll and die! "

It was as if an apocalypse was happening live or the end of mankind had come.

Everywhere turned into chaos, and some crazy ones even brought out large speakers, playing battle songs like they were singing their last farewell to the world while sacrificing their lives on the battlefield.

This wasn't humans getting united in chaos, but a group scaredy cats trying to divert their fears.

So even while all this was going on , some were running helter scelter , some with children, some lovers, some alone, all looking for where to preserve their fate like non of this concerned them.

But there was nothing like breaking into shops or trying to take advantage of the chaos and start stealing, because there all scared of being discovered of what will befall them if they indeed overcome this beast tide, this kinds of activities was greatly admolished by the whole federation as a whole, and sorry to whoever was caught doing so.

Admist the chaos , Eric stood still at the back of the defensive line, being the youngest among them made him feel out of place, as some men even gave him nodds acknowledging his bravery and courage to sacrifice his self.

"Sacrifice?"

If Eric knew what they were thinking he would spat on the ground right away, saying

" Why tha hell would I sacrifice myself for a ground of greedy humans , who wouldn't acknowledge, or care to know the reason they were still breathing well and living their foolish lifestyle, is the sacrifice even worth it?"

Was he a hero?

"Even if you admitted you aren't guilty , selfish or greedy, what about the person beside you?"

Anyway the ground quaked one more time and Continued trembling, making some people loose their footing , while the earth elementals mystic used their abilities keeping everyone steady.

Meanwhile Eric felt he had been gazed by a predator feeling his scalp

tinge as cold shivers travelled through his spine.

Feeling the hint of danger Eric stepped back a little bit as he kept retreating, maybe this battle wasn't meant for him.

Once again trusting his instinct he retreated a little.

Incase if anything were to happen he would have already grasped the situation.

Man and Beast clashed, in a battle for supremacy, living the winner alive.

Except Eric, everyone all felt their heart turn heavy knowing they had been tasked with protecting the lives of everyone behind those walls.

Be it black beared rats, prairie rabbits, wind wolves, turkey, scale snakes, in short Eric was flabergasted by the site before him seeing such amount of wild beast and newer species he saw for the first time I his life.

But non of that mattered since this wasn't a zoo, all Eric saw was money waving at him to farm them, money, they were all money, some how everywhere started smelling money.

Eric began to walk forward instinctively, at black bear suddenly charged at him and was greeted with a large fist, as it's skulll was smashed into pieces, before it disappeared into gods knows where, nothing, there was no corpse nothing nothing. Of course Eric already threw the package into his sealed space.

"Keep coming you MFK!" Eric shouted attracting the attention of some people nearby.

maybe that was a taunt skill, as they all went in a frenzy, as their already bloodish pupils became more red with nothing but Eric in their eyes, charging towards him without an ounce of fear.

"ROARRRRRR"

"Hahahahahahaha"

"boom" "boom!"

Eric kept smashing their skulls putting abrupt stop to their charge, making the scene look like they collided with a wall.

While everyone was battling with their lives Eric practically practiced how to punch.
