22 Calamity

"What do you mean worse?" Vincent asked. Worry spread across the faces of all the leaders in the group at her words.

Sweat was still coming off of Clementine's face. She was beginning to look as if she just splashed water all over her face. "I don't know what that thing is, but it's not human, and it's certainly not a magical beast. At least one that I have never seen before." she said once she managed to calm herself down enough to speak.

Everyone looked around at each other after hearing her speak. "regardless of what it is, if it's really that dangerous, then that gives us all the more reason to take it down." Callan said, speaking up. The other leaders nodded and agreed with that statement.

"Okay, it's decided. We will still work together to defeat this monster. However, we will not be splitting up again. If it gets to be too dangerous, then we will have Clem teleport us all out of there immediately. Does this work for everyone?" said Vincent.

The other leaders agreed with the plan. After all, they knew that if they didn't stop this threat now, then there was the chance that it could expand its territory over to their lands, and would continue to be a problem.

"What did it look like, and how far away from here did you see it?" asked one of the leaders. "It was strange. It looked humanoid, but it had the whitest skin I have ever seen. It had white hair on its head, and also had what looked like red markings on it. It also gave off a bloodlust that I have never felt before in my life. That's why I believe it to be a real monster."

"Did you say humanoid?" Vincent asked with a tremor of fear in his voice.

"Yeah, why?"

"The only thing I can think of that fits that description is a demon."

Everyone froze up at his words. The only one who had seen a demon before was Vincent, but they had all heard of them. Demons were known to be extremely powerful and ruthless beings, and they knew that if what they were hearing was true, then their mission just became much more dangerous.

"I don't care what it is, we have to kill it!" Liam shouted. He knew that his friend wanted revenge for his people more than anything, and if he had to face an army of demons to begin to pay him back, then that's what he would do.

At this point, Clementine had pulled herself together enough to stand back up. She was terrified, but she also knew that the lives of all her friends were in her hands. Then, she remembered something crucial that she had left out earlier.

"I forgot, and this is very important, so everyone needs to listen carefully to what I am about to say."

Everyone turned to face her, and a sinking feeling began to come over them at what she was about to tell them.

"I believe that the demon has multiple magical aptitudes."

The faces of everyone there shown skepticism at first. That was something that was completely unheard of, so the chances of that being true were next to zero. It was until they heard what she said next that really terrified them.

"Just like how Liam struggles to control his fire, which creates the small flashes of fire that pop up around him, I saw flashes of what appeared to be fire, water, and even earth. I'm not sure if there were others that I couldn't see since he was so far away at first, but if he already has three different kinds, then at this point, I wouldn't even be surprised to say that he has more."

Liam blushed with a little embarrassment when she first began speaking, but his face soon turned to pure fear after hearing the rest. The leaders knew that Liam was considered a genius with his incredible power while only being a pawn, but the idea that this monster had more than one element was downright horrifying.

"If you're right about this things power, then we need to put it down before it becomes a full blown calamity." Vincent remarked.

The leaders agreed, and decided that now was the time to fight. Now, it was no longer about getting revenge for their friend, but their mission had become the need to prevent the kingdom from facing a threat that it was not prepared for.

Just then, all of the leaders perked up when they felt the overwhelming power coming straight for their direction. But the thing that scared them even more, was the fact that they felt the energy from another person alongside the overwhelming power. This one wasn't nearly as strong, but the idea of a second demon with the potential of the first, was something that made their feeling of urgency that much stronger.

"It's coming this way! Everyone get ready!" Vincent shouted.

All the leaders got into their formation. Veronica stood in the front to be the shield, Liam and Vincent stood right behind her to prepare for their offensive. Callan and Clementine stood back, and to the side of them, so that they could see what was going on, while also being in the best place to be able to support or get them out of there when the time came.

All of a sudden, the overwhelming power disappeared. This confused everyone except for Clementine. She had already experienced this during her first encounter with the demon. "Keep you guard up! I forgot to mention that he can teleport similar to me!" she shouted.

"Why didn't you tell us that sooner?!?" Vincent shouted back with clear annoyance in his voice.

Everyone immediately started looking in all different directions, trying to find where the power disappeared too. They were ready to cast their spells at a moments notice.

"Excuse the fuck out of me! I had just faced this thing by myself before everyone started asking questions. I'm sorry my mind froze up for a minute."

The power then reappeared above them on top of a tree branch. As soon as they could feel it again, they looked up in unison.

"Why hello there! You poor people wouldn't happen to be looking for little ol me would ya?" Rokene said looking down at them with a giddy smile.
