Chapter 37 - Sky Bridges Lord's Malevolent Orchestration

With the shotgun's destructive symphony still ringing in the cavern's confines, Maxmillan stood amidst the aftermath—a lone figure cloaked in the eerie glow of fungi. In his other hand, the Supercharging Annihilator Sword gleamed with technological radiance as currents of potent power began to course through it—a lethal companion ready for the next onslaught.

As the remnants of the Magiwolves lay silent, Maxmillan's presence exuded an aura of relentless force. With each step, he ventured further into other connected caves, the enigmatic weapons at his disposal transforming the once-quiet cavern into a theater of ear-splitting and heart-chilling havoc.

Continuing to advance through some winding tunnels, the air seemed to grow thick with the acrid scent of a distinct, propellant chemical compound—a lingering testament to the havoc he rampantly wreaked upon coming across some adversarial oppositions.

The shotgun in his hand, continuously bellowed with a roar that reverberated through the atmosphere of numerous caverns, its thunderous concussions continuously bouncing off the cavern walls, creating a disorienting symphony of destruction.

Clink!

Clink!

Clink!

...

The clatter of ejected shells danced alongside his footsteps, creating a percussive backdrop to his relentless advance. The cavern echoed with the metallic symphony of the shotgun's shell auto-reloading mechanism—a swift mechanical ritual conducted with unwavering precision.

As more Magiwolves and arcane adversaries emerged from concealed recesses, Maxmillan's response was a ballet of violence. The shotgun thundered, violently scattering the predators' heads into confetti and mists of blood with the unleashed ferocious projectiles. While the Supercharging Annihilator Sword danced with superb deadly grace, weaving grey arcs of dimly-lit brilliance in the void of the subterranean world.

The bestial ferocity of his beastly adversaries was met with an unyielding force—a predator and a hunter at the same time. Maxmillan, moving with the incomparable, preternatural fluidity of a devilish entity, left trails of blood and chaos in his wake.

Helplessly, more blood decorated his figure, creating a grotesque mosaic that mirrored the intensity of his battles. The metallic scent of iron, and a particular distinct scent, continually lingered in the air. Maxmillan, his visage obscured by the shadows, resembled a malevolent blood-devouring deity—one armed with enigmatic otherworldly weapons and draped in the morbid vestiges of his conquest.

The caverns bore witness to his unstoppable force—an infernal tempest carving through the unknown subterranean.

The echoes of his indomitable and tenacious passage through tunnels, narrated a tale of unbridled chaos in the cavernous expanse. It was a symphony conducted by the relentless pursuit of his unbound vengeful retribution, as well as the liberation of his mother—a self-assigned quest that he fervently yearned to successfully complete.

In a dimly lit chamber where two figures watched a screen, one of the people, an old man, had his face suddenly contort with immense anger as he confronted the spine-chilling, ominous presence nonchalantly seated before him—the Sky Bridges Lord. "Is this how our base will go down?" he inquired, his voice trembling with unbounded wrath.

Hahahaha!!

A loud and carefree, malevolent laughter suddenly echoed through the room

"No!" he sharply declared, the words cutting through the tense atmosphere without hesitation. A sinister glow emanated from his eyes, casting an eerie light across the chamber.

"I have a plan for the body of that kid," he stated with a chilling certainty.

"I will snuff out his soul and take possession of his body. I am inexorably drawn to his body. It's inhumanly strong, supernaturally swift, and marvelously lithe. And these are achieved without spellcasting—amazing, inherent abilities that I am strongly attracted to and wish I possessed." The air grew heavier with the weight of the ominous revelation, painting a vivid picture of the impending malevolence.

The Sky Bridges Lord's voice echoed louder in the dim chamber, laced with a sinister confidence. "Besides, I feel like the kid is seriously holding back," he mused.

"There would be other weapons that he possesses which may be definitely more powerful than the ones he is currently using, probably to summon them later and use in a surprising attack against me. Haha! What a clown. He doesn't realize the scale of my unfathomable power yet. Nothing he would possess and unleash at me will be able to hurt me. I am not those ants he killed like he carried out some amazing feats. I am impressed, but not that impressed. He took too long in wiping them all out. And up till now, he still hasn't discovered where his mother is. I say again, what a clown. Hahaha!"

A malevolent laughter reverberated, carrying the weight of the impending treachery.

"So, once I have gained full possession of his body," the Sky Bridges Lord continued, his eyes gleaming with wicked anticipation, "I will start from the scratch all over again, with a new and boundless power that will cause the world to be shocked—a feat I am going to achieve with this boy's extraordinary, treasure-like body."

"By then, using his body completely taken over by me, I will become a peak-tier Astra Spellcraft Lord, instead of the low-tier Lord stage that I have been stuck in for eons of years now. And who knows, perhaps because of how unnaturally strong, explosively agile, indefatigable, and incredibly fast the boy's body is, I could advance to the elusive and extremely difficult Astra Nexus Paragon realm."
