5 First Hunt (Part 1)

After getting the system, I could stay awake if I wanted to, but I chose to sleep. I know it doesn't matter if I don't sleep but mental fatigue can not be compensated. I have to do all kinds of calculations, so 2-4 hours of sleep is actually beneficial in the long term. When I will be in the middle of hunting or important fights, this mental fatigue can affect my judgment, besides I may not get to sleep later, so why not enjoy what I have now.

The next day I went to the guild office. After teleporting to the entrance I looked at the building. It was a 5 storey building that was covered in glass panels. I could see fatty in front of the entrance. As I walked towards him he lowered his head.

" Good morning bro, would you like something to drink? "

" No, it's fine. Have you prepared everything ?"

" Yes, I bought the rights for the west zone glades. We can now head there for the hunt."

" What level of awakened beasts can we find there? "

" It depends on how deep you go inside the glades. Usually, you will find C-ranked beasts in the outer zone. As you go deeper there are B and A class beasts too. But they are deep inside the glades."

" Hmm.. good work fatty."

" It's for big bro of course."

" Show me coordinates of the glades."

Fatty showed the coordinates to August. After Calculating the distance and creating the bridge, August looked at fatty.

" Take my hand."

" What ?"

" Didn't you hear me ?"

Fatty touched August's hand and they disappeared from that place.

" Whaa... What happened ?"

Fatty was flabbergasted. He was in the guild office one moment before and now he was in a different place. He looked around and realized that this was a grassland with some trees here and there.

" Where is this place ?"

" You bought the rights to come here and you don't know? "

" It's the beast glades, but how did we come here in an instant? As far as I remember it was 500 kilometers away from the city. How did we get here ?"

" Fatty, do you know what? You talk too much. Why don't you just follow me."

Fatty got up and dusted off his pants. He was also nervous and confused, but he didn't want to be further scolded, so he shut his mouth and followed August.

After walking for two minutes they reached a small cliff. It was 4 to 5 meters high and there was a cave opening under it. They jumped down and entered the cave. Looking around the cave, It was quite narrow. Only two or three people could go there side by side. They walked for about 10 minutes until the cave became wider and wider. They reached a big space inside the cave. It was really wide and there were luminescent stones all around the walls of the cave.

' Is this the place the system located ?'

August searched for awakened beasts through his system. While searching the quantum field pinged me for an anomaly.

[ Anomaly detected : Concentrated quantum field is alive ]

According to the system, there was a concentrated quantum field here. And what was more surprising that it was alive.

' I have to investigate this.'

August activated his quantum force channel and looked for the entity. An invisible wave swept through the cave and reached the other end.

*rumble*

The cave started to vibrate. It was like a sleeping beast woke up from his sleep. August opened his eyes and checked the scan results in front of him.

After checking the status of the anomaly, I was taken aback. A beast with Authority and Quantum force channel. It also had the same ranking authority as mine, maybe because of that, it could detect someone was looking for it. It could sense my field through his authority, even though his force channel is inferior to mine.

I thought about how to deal with it. I could use 'Acquire' to get his skills but I need to get close to him. As its authority is S rank, it could detect my presence in his domain. And judging by the rank of the quantum force field, it could interfere with my cosmic bridge. I could get close to him, but he could change his superposition and create an uncertain state, which could change my position while coming out of the cosmic bridge. Before that, somebody needs to deal with these small fries.

A horde of hybrid-looking beasts started to approach us.

" Hey fatty, go take care of these small fries."

" Huh.. can't see bro, there are hundreds of awakened beasts. How am I supposed to deal with them ?"

" Didn't you say you wanted to become stronger? This is part of your training, so don't whine and get to work."

" Ugh…"

Fatty grunted and took out his hammer. It was around the same length as his arm and the hammer-head was of equal length on both sides resembling two drums attached on the handle. The hammer's handle was coated with beast leather and on the bottom, there was a stone attached to it.

I scanned the hammer.

' Did he get this new artifact for this hunt? he didn't have this before. Well, it suits him well.'

The horde consisted of C and B class beasts. They looked like wolves but they had mantis-like claws and lizard-like tails. They rushed towards Fatty and opened their mouths as if to devour him. Fatty panicked and swung his hammer towards them.

*bam*

The beasts in the front sent flying. They were injured but they were not dead. I looked at fatty who was surrounded by hundreds of beasts. His body was giving up on him, he tried desperately to fend them off but from the looks of it, that wouldn't last long.

' Authority'

I activated my authority and all beasts stopped in their tracks. I cleared the authority for 10 beasts.

" You can handle 10 of them at a time right ?"

" Why didn't you do that earlier? I almost died."

" Then you would have skipped your warm-up," I smirked.
