Confusion

After the mountain blew up, Ren Tu expected the sweet release of death, but the only thing he could feel was a tight sensation coming from his neck. Feeling something was wrong, he opened his eyes and found himself tied to a noose in an unfamiliar room.

"Where the f*ck am I?" Although he was stunned, he quickly understood that he would die if he did not get out of the noose. In his previous life, Ren Tu could obliterate the rope with a casual breath but now he struggled to even pull himself out. As his vision started to fade, using the full extent of his strength, he finally managed to pull himself off, and his body fell to the floor limply, lacking the strength to even stand up.

After a while, Ren Tu stood up slowly and laid himself on the bed which was close to him and started to pant furiously to recover from the oxygen deficiency. The bed felt extremely soft, not like what he was used to, but he could feel his scrawny body with no muscle despite being already looking like he was in his late twenties, and it seemed to him that he lost the reincarnation lottery.

"Last time I was panting so hard was after the Sun Goddess visited my bedroom and we didn't come out for a week!" Ren Tu thought back to the good times he spent with the legendary cleric Yao Min, proclaimed the Sun Goddess. Her smiles charmed even the most resistant warriors, and her kindness could melt even the most cynical hearts. They had a deep relationship but alas, they parted ways for they had different goals in life. While Ren Tu focused all his time on trying to break through, Yao Min was the opposite, she focused on studying the dao of healing and focused on helping the people traveling around the world healing incurable diseases and helping the people.

After he finally regained his breath, he exited the room and found himself in a small, sparsely decorated living room full of unknown items, with a corridor that led to the other rooms. He quickly realized how hungry and thirsty he was, and tried to look for food, which he realized was harder than he thought. His weak body was worse than even that of a simple person and thus he was unable to fly, without a weapon he would have no chance to even face the lower-ranked monsters.

Ren Tu proceeded to scour the small house for any sign of substance and the first thing that he found was an abundance of small boxes labeled as "Cup Noodles." He read the instructions and got very confused very fast, it said to add boiling water but he currently had no way to make a fire or use Qi. Luckily, the instructions came with pictures, and he saw a picture showing an object pouring out boiling water on the dried noodles. After scanning his kitchen, Ren Tu found a very similar object, so Ren Tu quickly poured a jug of water he found on the counter in the object and clicked the button on the side. The object started to make weird noises and after about a minute they stopped and he could hear the sound of boiling water in the object,

"Is this a magical artifact of a low-grade?" Ren Tu was confused about how the water was boiled, but his hunger drove his questions aside and he diligently focused on making the noodles. Luckily, the remaining instructions weren't that hard to follow and he quickly made a cup of steaming hot noodles.

Before eating, he found some chopsticks from a drawer and sat on what looked like a weird version of a chair which he found was extremely comfortable, waiting until the noodles cooled a bit before he dug in.

"How can food be this good?!" Ren Tu mostly ate cooked meat from some monsters he killed just for food, so this tasted better than anything he had ever eaten. The portion did not last long, and so he made himself three more before his stomach was on the verge of exploding and his tastebuds were nowhere near satisfied.

While he slouched on the comfy chair, his elbow accidentally touched an object resembling a rectangular box on the armrest pressing the red button.

"This is Mao Bai from channel 7 news, today a brand new game named "Path to Ascension" was released to the streets of Shanghai, and is now selling like hotcakes. "Path to Ascencion" is a first game in the dive virtual reality massively multiplayer online role-playing game genre meaning it lets the players experience the game as if it was real life using a VR pod!" A news broadcast appeared on the TV in front of Ren Tu, who before thought it was just a black box.

"Are all objects in this house artifacts, because if it is true I will have a much easier time in this reincarnated body!" Ren Tu was still shocked by the TV, but he started getting slowly used to these kinds of things. He quickly found the red button he accidentally pressed and pressed on it to turn off the TV.

"Anyway, after a good meal, the best thing to do is cultivate!" Ren Tu sat in a cross-legged position on the carpet and entered a state of cultivation.

"Wait, why can't I sense any Essence in the air?!" Ren Tu realized with a panicked expression that the usual feel of essence surrounding him was now extinct. Despite his worries, he tried cultivating in every spot in the house but there was no change.

"What the f*ck is wrong with this place, there are magic artifacts everywhere, but there is no essence, I am so confused, just what the hell is this world!?"
