Awakening

'Hmm, where am I?' Al Casendra looked at his surroundings with wide eyes. 'Gush! This isn't my lab...' He took a deep breath to reorganize his thoughts.

He looked at his frail hands, the big bed,  the wardrobe, a reading table, and chair by the corner.

'Inside a kid in another world.... Things can't get any worse than this, right? ' He sighed and shook his head.

Beside the bed was leftover food on a small table. Al Casendra tried to stand up but a piercing pain came from his chest. He groans and pukes out a black liquid with a rotten smell.

He opened his mouth and uttered some words. However, he couldn't hear his voice. At first, he didn't notice this. He wiped his mouth from the black and jumped off the bed.

He focused his gaze on the black liquid and mumbled something. Yet, no voice came from his mouth. When he noticed this, he widened his eyes, his heart missing a beat. He took a deep breath to calm his thumping heart while trying to utter a word slowly. However, nothing happened. Sweats pour from his forehead like an open dam.

Al Casendra sat slowly at the edge of the bed. It was down on him the reality of things. Just then, a sudden pain attacked his brain. He held his head and groaned lightly. After a couple of seconds, the pain subsided. He inhaled and noticed his clothes stuck to his body like a second skin.

'Now, I understand.' Al Casendra thought, shaking his head. 'The higher you rise, the harder you fall.'

A knock came from the door, waking Al Casendra from his thoughts. He looked at the door without any expression on his face. Since he had regained the memory of the previous owner of the body. He realized this world was not simple like his previous world.

'I failed in my previous world. I won't fail now'

He tapped the small table beside the bed twice. And a female voice came from outside.

"Prince, your mother asked you to get ready for the awakening ceremony."

Pa! Pa!

He tapped the table twice again and receding footsteps echoed lightly from the outside. A smile that was no smile appeared on his face. He gets up quickly and cleans the room before taking a quick bath.

Creak!

Al Casendra walked out of his room in a blue flowing robe. The morning breeze blew on his face, flaunting his shoulder-length black hair.

'Let the show begin.' He clicked his tongue and walked towards his mother's courtyard. Every maid that saw him gave a respectful bow with their best smile. However, Al Casendra didn't spare a glance at them. Entering his mother's courtyard, he saw her sitting around a big table with various delicacies on top.

Sitting Beside her was a young lady, between the age of 17 to 18 years. Her beautiful oval face was full of arrogance. She raised her head and looked at Al Casendra.

"What are you doing…. Standing there like a fool" Mariam said coldly.

"Don't talk like that to your brother. I've told you several times.. we are one family." Rose their mother corrects Mariam with a frown. She looked at Al Casendra and smiled.

"My boy, don't mind your sister. Come… " She waved her hand, pointing to a seat beside her.

Al Casendra didn't have any change in expression. He walked calmly and sat beside her mother. Rose rubbed the hair of Al Casendra the moment he sat with a loving smile.

"You don't need to worry about the awakening. You shall do just fine like your sister. I know you will awaken one of the best magic affinities… I trust you"

When Mariam heard, her lips curled upward in disdain and snorted. 'Let's see how this trash awakens the best magic affinity.'

After a couple of minutes, a middle-aged man entered the courtyard and bowed.

"The Lord is waiting for you."

"Ok… We are coming."

Immediately, after the middle-aged man left. Rose looks at Al Casendra and smiles. "Let's show them how awesome your talent is."

Al Casendra shook his head, standing up. He looked at his mother and made a hand gesture.

"What! You will meet us in the academy" Rose's mouth was ajar. She didn't understand what happened to her obedient son.

Al Casendra nodded, leaving the courtyard before his mother could persuade him. Mariam looked at the back of Al Casendra and an evil smile crept onto her face. When she noticed her mother looking at her, the smile disappeared into thin air.

Al Casendra walked in the streets of Yellow Sun, looking at the children of his age, smiling and running toward the academy.

'What should I do?' Al Casendra was lost in thought while he didn't hear all those people greeting him.

Unknown to him, he had already arrived at the gate of the Yellow Sun academy. He raised his head and saw the multitude of children preparing for the awakening ceremony.

Al Casendra took a deep breath and thought. 'What will happen will happen.'

Quickly, he arrived at his class and stood quietly at the back. He had already known the results of the awakening but he couldn't just hide or tell people the results. Like he could speak. A depressing smile appeared on his face. But quickly it disappears, leaving a blank expression.

"Casendra!" A young boy shouted with a proud smile. Behind him were a few boys and girls.

When Al Casendra heard his name. He gnashed his teeth and wanted to curse the first to ten generations of Aaron's family.

Immediately, all eyes were on Al Casendra. Muttering and gossip spread among the children while the parents, sitting in the pavilion, looked in the direction of Aaron's voice.

"What's he doing here?" A middle-aged man furrowed. All the smiles on his face disappeared. His face darkened. The air around him vibrates slightly.

"What happened?" A woman asked with a frown.

Calming his breath. The middle-aged man averted his gaze from Al Casendra and smiled at the people around him.

"Nothing"

"Wood BlueFire come forth for your awakening"

When Aaron heard this, he looked at Al Casendra with a mischievous smile.

"That's your brother... Who do you think will have the best affinity? You or him." He chuckled.
