Sam was jolted awake from his daydream. He saw his best buddy and deskmate calling him anxiously.

"Student Samuel, come to the board and solve the chemistry question right now. " yelled the female teacher.

Sam was still trying to wrap his thoughts when he was startled by the shout. He saw his deskmate bitterly smiling at him, shaking his head while mocking looks of his other classmates. The case was he was in a daydream amid chemistry class when his deskmate tried to wake him up when he suddenly got his teacher's attention. His deskmate's plot failed and he successfully got the attention of his teacher!

Sam gazed on the board to find it was a question on Co-ordination Theory.

"Since when did co-ordination theory was in the syllabus? I thought it was taught in Bachelors degree! " thought Sam.

"Hurry up!" yelled the teacher impatiently.

"Ah.. ah...I don't know the answer teacher.. " replied Sam scratching his head.

"Rascal! What were you doing when I was teaching? Sleeping? Daydreaming? Scram outside the class and stand at the wall for the whole class! " yelled Mrs Jain angrily.

Sam absentmindedly nodded and rushed outside for his punishment, lowering his head.

Mrs Jain looked at Sam's figure with contempt as she continued the class thereafter...

"Man, why were you daydreaming in the class? I called you at least five times seeing Mrs Jain glancing at you. " asked Olson White, Sam's best buddy and deskmate grudgingly.

"Sorry, bro. Leave it. Her class is boring anyway. " replied Sam as he shrugged.

"Yeah, I hope you say the same when you fail chemistry in the finals." said Olson as he stared at him angrily.

"Btw, since when do we have coordination theory in the syllabus? " asked Sam bewildered.

Now Olson stared at him wide-eyed. Sam subconsciously rubbed his palm to see if there was something on his face or not...

"Dude, did you get a fever after you failed to get a superpower? Co-ordination theory was always in the syllabus. After humans gained superpowers, our brain can understand things more easily. So it's obvious that we have advanced knowledge in our school syllabus. "

As Olson blabbered, Sam got to know many things. Firstly, after the apocalypse, humanity fell! Countless fierce beasts and carnivorous plants invaded the human civilization through portals that broke open due to space distortions caused by heavy nuclear explosions in the Third Nuclear World War! Humans were caught unprepared when they were recovering from the loss of the war. Only some millions of the population remained alive.

Moreover, due to natural disasters, terrains changed. Storm ragged, tsunamis and earthquakes, volcanic eruptions devastated the lands. One after another continents fell.

Another thing was the appearance of the Underworld about which mankind still had least to no information. Different kinds of zombies with intelligence and dead beings sprang up from underground and started slaughtering humans. Mankind had no way to stop them other than to flee.

Secondly, the government collapsed, society crumbled and the military was too busy to slaughter the enemies. Crime rates increased. All these internal and external troubles almost lead mankind to extinction.

Thirdly, to survive this, some humans had somehow evolved from the radiation and mana from the portals and obtained superpowers.

Fourth, all the abilities started at super weakening from and the only way to strengthen your innate ability was to undergo further evolution by battling other superpower users who may be humans, fierce beasts or ferocious plants. A person needed to defeat a beast or ferocious plant themselves to gain their gene points. It gets miraculously absorbed in the body leaving only a useless beast or plant body that could be used as a ration. Thus in this world where government and military-ruled strictly, strengthed mattered the most!

Fifth, a person had three chances to awaken their FIRST superpower, in case anyone failed in their awakening, at age around age 15-16.

Lastly, he failed to awaken in his first superpower on his first and second try!!

Sam was sweating bullets at present. From the slight description, he understood that he probably transmigrated as he read in those webnovels. He was panicking deep-hearted but still smiling and listening to Olson's blabbering.
