12 The First Night

As the boys waited in the church they talked about what they learned from the day.

"So Ketch you want to tell us what if anything you found? Any signs at all of where these people are?"

"Sorry Dean we were unable to find any trace of these people. I think tonight we need to sit and watch. Something about this place just isn't sitting right with me. I don't know what it is but I feel like we walked into a trap."

"Awesome, just awesome. Okay Sam start getting every kind of ward you can think of around this building. We need to keep the rest of these people safe. Ketch help him, what ever sigils you know you need to get up. And you boys need to fan out and take up your posts. Tonight is a watch and wait type of thing but if we can save any people we will."

"Okay Dean and what will you be doing?"

"Well I am going to go back downstairs and talk to the people. Remember only Sam is to come downstairs so they don't know about the extra help. The little girl was connected to the master vampire. We are not sure if she still is. Also three of you boys need to go out to the cars and get all of our weapons and our other supplies. Do it before dark and make sure you close and lock everything okay."

" No problem Dean we will get it done now. Be careful."

"You guys be careful as well, and remember no unnecessary noise. I don't want them to know we are here."

So everyone splits up to get their tasks done. Sam places several wards to repell the vampires. Then he places one last ward to hide all the others. Meanwhile Ketch is placing all of the sigils he knows. He even places several on the basement door. The boys Dean sent out to get the weapons and supplies got everything needed then locked up the cars and closed the barn door so no one would see anything out of place. Dean went down and talked to everyone once again. He tested everyone and only the little girl was connected to the master vampire. Dean notices that they are running low on food so Dean, Ketch, and Sam go out to the market to get as much food as they can carry. They get the food back to the church twenty minutes before dusk. They fill the freezer with as much of the meat as they could. They also got a bunch of canned food for them so they would have plenty of food for how ever long they would be there.

All of the hunters were upstairs watching the windows as the sun went down. For the first fifteen minutes nothing happened. Then Dean saw movement. He got Stan to come over to his spot and pointed out the window and whispered ," Is that one of your people? Where are the others?"

Stan says," Yes, it looks like Jim Bob. But I don't see any other people. What's going on here?"

Sam says," My guess is he is looking for more people like they do every night. I just wonder what's going to happen when they can't find anyone?"

"Good question Sam, I guess we just wait and see."

They watched for another half hour while Jim Bob went from house to house looking for more people. After he went to the last house he went back the way he came in.

"Can anyone see where he is going? What's out that way Stan? We need to get this figured out man."

"Look I think we should take shifts sleeping. I don't think much more will happen tonight but we need to be ready."

"Good idea Sam okay shift one will be you guys and Stan. You get four hours, then the next shift will wake you up. We will do this all night. Any questions? Good now get some rest."

For the rest of the night nothing moved in their field of vision. They all took turns sleeping, then when the sun came up at 7:36 a.m. all of the hunters went out and scouted the town.
