37 Chapter 35 Annabelle

Everyday for the past two months Annabelle had been training with Jane in fighting, and was happy to announce that she was improving. Jane had been right with the fact that even though Annabelle knew the moves when it came to fighting, she didn't know the proper technique of someone her size. With Jane only being a few inches taller then Annabelle she was able to not only teach her but show her the correct way she should be fighting.

All her life Annabelle felt weak because she wasn't able to do what the other wolves could, and she just blamed the fact that she was an omega. Turns out she was wrong, it was because she wasn't taught how to fight as an omega.

So after another two hour training session, this time after school, Annabelle was feeling on top of the world. Because today, she had landed her first real hit on Jane, Jane had immediately flipped her on her back, but that was serious progress. Many might not think so, but Jane is an amazing fighter and Annabelle is relearning from scratch, so she's proud of herself.

Walking through the hallways of the school, Annabelle couldn't stop the smile from growing on her face. She could feel herself growing into the person she had always imagined herself to be and she felt like she was walking on clouds.

Knowing Fenris wouldn't be here to pick her up for a few minutes Annabelle let this feeling grow and enjoyed walking through the empty school, admiring all the plants. At least, she had thought it was empty, but she heard soft footsteps behind her, getting closer. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but she could tell there were at least two people and something in her told her to run.

Peeking over her shoulder she found her instincts were right. Mark and Anthony, the twin betas to Johnny, were following her and she knew that because they were solely focused on her. If these two were following her that meant Johnny had something to do with it, because they didn't do anything without him having a say about it.

The other problem was that because she had been taking her time walking, she was still halfway across the part of the school Fenris would be to get her.

Speeding up Annabelle tried to put as much distance between her and the two betas as she could. She must not have been subtle about it because they realized what she was doing and speed up as well.

Making a break for it Annabelle ran as fast as she could, but the betas behind her took off after her and were quickly catching up. A split second decision had her turning a corner and running up the stairs, hoping to trick them into thinking she kept running straight. Just as her luck would have it, the two idiot betas had been smart this time and used their nose to follow her.

Running again Annabelle ran for one of the other set of stairs closer to where Fenris was waiting for her. Looking behind her she saw they were catching up to her again. Just then she felt something weird moving against her shorts and realized her phone was ringing, pulling it out she saw it was Fenris. [Oh thank the Goddess]

Swiping 'accept' Annabelle held the phone to her ear as she looked behind her. "Fenris! Help! They're chasin----" Annabelle was cut off when she collided with something that spun her and wrapped around her, making her drop her phone.

She saw it was arms wrapped around her and thankfully, her training with Jane kicked in. Stomping her foot on top of the other persons caused them to loosen their grip and allowed her to slam the back of her head into theirs before she elbowed them hard in the gut. The person doubled over letting go of Annabelle and she made to keep running, but Mark and Anthony had finally caught up and each grabbed an arm.

The other person was still doubled over and moaning while holding their nose, but she immediately could tell it was Johnny. The sight before her caused her to smile, knowing she caused him a small fraction of the pain he had inflicted on her.

"You little bitch you shouldn't have done that." Johnny spluttered looking up, his nose was bleeding and looked to be broken. "You're not supposed to hurt your mate."

Annabelle couldn't help herself, she laughed. "You rejected the mate that the Goddess gave you and all because she was a pixie. Plus, even if I was your mate I would have rejected you. You say you're not supposed to hurt your mate, you've hit me, bruised me, cut me, you nearly raped me!" Annabelle screamed.

Hearing what their alpha had done the twins were shocked and loosened their grip on Annabelle. She pulled her arms away and stalked towards Johnny, "You broke something in me and I'm lucky that MY mate has been patient and allowed me to heal. She cares about me and doesn't see me as some sex toy for her to have. I'm her equal and not only does she tell me that to remind me, but I feel it. In everything we do together I feel how much she cares about me and I pray she knows how much I care for her. I have my mate mark with her, so I will tell you this one last time. I. Am. Not. Your. Mate." Annabelle growled in Johnny's face.

"You liked me! I know you did." Johnny howled, blood still pouring out of his nose.

"Yes, I did like you, when I first meet you I thought you were good-looking and nice. I hadn't found my mate at the time and I thought it would be nice to date you. But as time went on I saw you as a friend, not my mate."

"If you liked me then how could you like Fenris, she's a girl."

"I don't just like Fenris, she is my mate. Also it's called being bisexual, I like girls and guys, my mate, the person I have fallen in love with, just happens to be a girl." Annabelle could see that the fact she was bisexual disgusted Johnny and it had made him angry.

Johnny's brown eyes were now black with rage and his breathing was labored. Annabelle had angered him more then she could have known, but she didn't care. She stepped back keeping her eyes locked with the alphas. "Goodbye Johnny, never talk to me again." Turning she walked over to the stairs nearby, feeling proud of herself for standing up for herself and telling that bastard off.

As she got closer she could hear her name being yelled frantically and smiled, [Fenris]. She ran to the top of the stairs and looked down, the stairs gave her the perfect view of the direction she had just run from. There Fenris was searching desperately, having probably caught the scent of Annabelle's fear from over there first.

Just as she opened her mouth to call out to Fenris something hit Annabelle on her back, hard, sending her head first down the stairs. The pain when her head hit that first step was nothing like any of the hits she had ever received before. The whole way down she could hear the sound of her skin hitting the hard tiles. She could even hear some cracking sounds, and immense amount of pain rush through her body telling her she was breaking some bones. Her head had hit the steps multiple times, but the last time her head hit the stairs, she had hit the edge of the step with her temple and could feel her skin tear open from the blunt impact.

Now laying at the bottom of the stairs Annabelle could feel the pain slowly taking over all the feeling in her body. She couldn't move or speak the pain was so overwhelming, she just stared up at the ceiling watching the blackness slowly cover her vision.

A sound of wind and then she could see what she thought was the face of an angel. Wanting so say hi to the angel Annabelle went to speak, but only blood came out of her mouth. The angel look terrified and Annabelle could see tears in her eyes. Her eyes. The angel had the same beautiful eyes as her Fenris. She could tell that the angel was trying to say something, but Annabelle couldn't hear her.

So Annabelle stared into those eyes thinking of Fenris and how much she loved her as the blackness took over and she could no longer see them.
