1 Last son of Earth

Somewhere in the abyss of the dark multiverse.
Brainiac stood victorious, towering above a 15-year-old Clark Kent. His ships bombarded whatever pitiful resistance earth was able to muster.

Brainiac's plan worked. He was able to bring down his greatest foe when he had no control over his hormones much less his Kryptonian powers.

The earth's greatest hope was hopeless, kneeling in front of the corpses of people he once knew. Vril Dox was gloating in the moment of victory. Some powerful beings looked at the pitiful earth falling deeper into the depth of the dark multiverse. Some wanted to help but were deterred by those who wanted the opposite. Some looked on with apathy and some with expectations of obtaining a new pawn.

Clark's head was in turmoil. His brain working billions of times faster than an earthling was still struggling to deal with the trauma and grief he had suffered. This was beyond anything he had ever faced. The biggest problem he faced before this was how to not look at the beautiful brunette in his class. He remembered practicing cheesy lines in front of the mirror to impress her. He remembered having the talk about the birds and the bees with his father. How his dad was more concerned about protecting her hip than using protection. How his dad told him to not give in to emotions and to always control himself.

He knew he had powers but would it even help against something so powerful.

As the bombardment died down he could hear the last heartbeat on earth disappear.

With it, Clark's brain went quiet. Every worry he had about controlling his power and fitting in seemed trivial. He could feel something in his brain snap.

"F*k you," Clark said his first-ever curse word and his cells responded with excitement. Some unfathomable force within him broke through filling every inch of his body. It expanded outward like an explosion pushing Brainiac away. Having faced an older more powerful version of Clark, brainiac was prepared. All of his weapons locked on to Clark almost immediately.

All of Brainiac's sensors were scanning through any and every way possible. Infrared scanning for fluctuations of energy to determine when he'll use heat vision. Any power Clark would use brainiac was ready to counter it.

But soon Brainiac realized his miscalculation. He was ready to face the earth's guardian, but what he was up against was a beast full of bloodlust. This beast didn't care for strategy. He didn't scan the ships for weak points. He didn't even have control over his powers. He just let the force that he kept hidden out allowing him to go through everything he considered an enemy.

Brainiac was facing against a Clark who had lost everything. A Clark who didn't know or care for the planet blowing up due to his power.
He was facing against the last son of earth.

...…

Brainiac understood his miscalculation, he needed to go back. Go back further in time to when Clark was an infant. He needed to go to the time machine in the mothership.

"I have to use my last trump card to delay him."

"Kryptonite missile locked on."

...…..

As ships fell one after the other Clark reached what seemed to be the biggest ship. He tanked another projectile from the ship. But this projectile was different the shrapnels dug into his body effortlessly. Clark could feel the foreign material sucking away at his power immediately weakening him significantly. The poison coursing through his veins weakened him further.

His eyes scanned through the mothership. Brainiac was starting a machine. A machine that gave off so much energy that Clark instinctively felt afraid.
He never thought of martyr but when he thought about Martha and Johnathan Kent, His loving parents, and his hatred against the thing that took them away. He took one last look at his adoptive planet and used all his power to blast through the machine.

With the explosion that blasted off most of the earth, Clark was hurled into a rainbow-colored portal.
